Note: This is not to classify anyone as elitist or superior or anything else. I don't want an emblem or recognition. I just want to reminisce with my fellow guardians.
So you might be a true Year One Guardian...
If you remember scouring the Beta for hours and spending inordinate amounts of time shooting ??? enemies to see if they could die and if they would give any cool loot.
If you listened to the bones in Skywatch "speak" and know exactly to what they are referring.
If you spent hours on end developing chest farming runs in an effort to get ahead on resources.
If you hoarded glimmer items by farming Cabal in Exclusion Zone so you could afford multiples of guns from Iron Banner for each character.
If you got to 26 for the first time on multiple characters by virtue of The Queen's hatred for specific preexisting enemies (in particular our friend the rising Archon from the first mission).
If you didn't have to worry about doing hard mode Atheon at level 29 because that's what level everyone else was too.
If you watched Suros and the Mythoclast's cataclysmic falls from grace.
If you're holding on to a Shadow Price/Grim Citizen/Vanquisher or Supremacy because they're your babies.
If you remember control on First Light (or even First Light in general anymore).
If you have seen Xur sell the Gjallarhorn.
If you remember countless trips to the Tower to rearrange gear on characters.
If you've experienced the sorrow of only getting ascendant shards when you NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR GUNS.
If you seriously contemplated forfeiting a weapon or armour piece so you could upgrade your sparrow.
If seeing "Fangs of Nyx" got you excited... Until you found out it was just an ugly ship.
If you've had several talks with yourself trying not to get your hopes up, because that purple engram is almost definitely a blue... Or worse...
Addition 1- If you broke the Atheon fight into 2 teams of 3, an inside group and an outside group.
Addition 2- If you remember how much Xur hated Warlocks. And/or loved the Sunbreakers...
Addition 3- If you supered at heavy drop in pvp because you got more heavy by killing all the enemies who picked it up than by grabbing it yourself.
Addition 4- If the interceptor driver was the equivalent of a thorn/final round sniper user today.
Addition 5- If you remember hunting 3 fallen walkers. Except it wasn't 3. It was more like 8.
More to come.
Note: No old cheeses will make their way on to this list. This is a noble list meant for nostalgia and pride, not shame and underhanded shiftyness.

When StreamerHouseTV was the highest level on Destiny (28)
-
When my first 2 exotics were the thorn and bad juju...and both only had like a 6 trigger-pull magazine that rendered them practically useless in any encounter. Hand cannons had terrible damage, range, AND target acquisition. My how times have changed...
-
I bought my Gally from xur... Week 2
-
I don't know where my first encounter with destiny place me, but i start playing destiny I think late September early October but I do remember the struggle to get good gear and weaponry, vog was a beast, I remember that at the Templar you could throw him over the edge, they patch that quick 😂
-
When you looked at icebreaker at xur and said why would I ever need a sniper and ended up buying something else or nothing at all. When you figured out that the gorgon chest had a chance to drop and exotic, and telling all your friends who hadn't run the raid yet cause you were so excited and hoping you or them would get one. The war between lvl 29 and 30s. The pain of running in circles farming for material items for hours just to have enough for one up upgrade. The pain of not having the boots or helmet drop on the VoG, and it was the only piece you needed to be a 30. When auto rifles actually did something and the vex was a God of a gun.

The good old times
-
Good times.
-
The good times... now the game is slowly dieing.
-
I remember these except I was a forever 27 because I could never find anyone to run vault with me
-
My first exotic Pocket Infinity suffered the same fate as the Suros. It's even more of a ust collector now, as it burns your special ammo reserve after about two kills in PVP. I remember taking it into rumble after first unlocking the pocket infinity perk with its eight round mag and burning everyone on the map laughing like the joker the whole time.

If you're bored to death of the game.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Killer_Turtle022: 7/27/2015 6:59:58 AMYou remember when: Thorn sucked We only had 5 bounty slots How excited everyone was for the queen's missions Auto rifles were actually good Weekly strikes weren't matchmaking The struggle to get VoG gear The cryptarch was the ultimate troll The loot cave Bungie's Christmas "present" Jackolytes How everyone wanted SUROS Regime First Light (crucible map on the moon with vehicles) Bastion (crucible map on Mars with vehicles)
-
Damn I miss control on First Light. That was a really good map and it's just lost to Combined Arms now. I really hope they bring that one back. -blam!- Bastion tho.
-
1 AntwortenIf you're two salvage wins away from max grimoire ;)
-
18 AntwortenHow about -blam!- all these "you're a true this or that." If I played year one then I'm by definition a YEAR ONE PLAYER. Why do we have to do this with every single portion of this game -.-? Being a "true" player seriously bothers you so much you wrote almost a page of useless opinions on it? Stop this elitism and just play.

1 AntwortenYear one players Remember.... ....loading up vault of glass day one and thinking you and 2 other lvl 25s could complete it. ....after find out you couldn't you gathered up all friends and went in totally blind not knowing any thing and spent 7 hours to get some shards/energies. ....centipede...need I say more? ....finally getting lvl 30 on your last character one week before dark below released ...because you didn't want to delete you characters. ...lvl 28-29 only vault of glass hard. ....laughing your @ss off when you saw for the first time the Templar helplessly falling off the edge. ...being the first of you group of friends to get the vex.

Bearbeitet von zSpeakNoEvil: 7/27/2015 8:13:58 AMOr you put the game in the time it was released before 2015...?
-
Remember our first raid... Before all the YouTube videos and how to do it guides. How proud you were when 6 29's dominated
-
What ever happened to last light, that was the best map
-
Saw xur sell the ghorn, thought it was stupid to use an exotic slot on a rocket, turned out to be the best weapon. Anyways, at the time I didnt have enough strange coins.

16 AntwortenBearbeitet von bourbon beard: 7/26/2015 1:21:59 PMWhat a load of shit! You are day one if you played when the game came out & by that definition It doesn't matter if you spent almost a year exclusively dancing in the tower! This guy is an ass of the highest order! Please stop this sort of obnoxious post!
