Alright, the "gay rights decision" is long gone, no need to make a "pride shader" about it.

I'm just gonna post this sonner rather than later: We do not need a "gay/pride" shader/class/item. We know that historic moment where gay marriage was legalized, cool. But days have passed, and it's over. Let's focus our attention elsewhere. The gay rights decision was a political event. Now I don't want someone coming onto Destiny and finding something offending to them, and then another person gets happy and feels promoted, perhaps special. But let's get the point straight: It's nothing special. It used to be on that historic day, but it's over, out of sight and out of mind just like everything else. No need for attention. I realize some people's excitement, but other people find Destiny a place to escape the real world and entertain themselves.
TLDR: Real worlds and virtual worlds don't mix well. Destiny is meant to entertain not to inform people of political/disputed topics and issues.
Some logical thinking here:
1)Don't call out the person, your attention is on the issue at hand in most cases.
2)Use FACTS, not sympathetic placeholders.
3)Be bold to back down and say you're wrong, admit things and don't be a coward.

1 AntwortenYay for the homosexuals and all but it's been legal in Canada for around 10 years so give them a rainbow shader and I want a legitimate Canada shader for living in this awesome country not the new monarchy shader. I don't like their political views(new monarchy not gay pride)

2 AntwortenThe best thing Bungie can do is remain neutral. It is in their best interest to simply not get involved in such a heated subject with BOTH sides at times having at times illogical arguments. This is a historic moment but there are places that politics simply do not belong regardless of the stance on the issue.

personally I'm glad the matter is settled once and for all. now hopefully they will shut up and go back to living quiet lives like everyone else. if the gays shut up the only real issues left are the haters that have recently started all the protests and shit. you dont like gay marriage? there is a simple fix to that, dont marry a gay person.

15 AntwortenThis really does need to be in #offtopic but I'll throw my 2 cents inb4lock SCOTUS upholding the Affordable Healthcare Act for the 2nd time The Massacre in Charleston, SC The overwhelming removal of Confederate flags across the South The Pope saying climate change is real and humans are at fault The death of Christopher Lee The death of Leonard Nimoy The suicide of Robin Williams Memorial Day MLK Day New Year's Eve Christmas Thanksgiving All these things have happened since Destiny was released and none of them have received any in-game promotion or acknowledgement by Bungie. I think that any of these events (and many more as Destiny is played across the world) could be acknowledged by Bungie but not every tragedy and triumph that happens in the world gets an emblem or shader. Now before you say Nepal remember that was a fund raising drive that an individual could donate to or not. If Bungie wants to do another fund raiser for a lgbt cause (or any cause really) and offer in-game emblems and shaders to people who donate I have no problem. But since Bungie has never allowed players to express their support for any political decision (and yes I would say supporting any SCOTUS decision is taking a political stance) since Destiny was released why would anyone expect them to when they can not do the same for any of the events I named above? In short I think SCOTUS made the right choice. I don't think Bungie should or will hand out emblems or shaders to celebrate it.

6 AntwortenWhy would we celebrate gay marriage? I accept gay people, but what they do is not natural and should not be promoted. It is a defect in nature and has no benefit to humans, except to curb population growth. We should not be embedding this in our kids' minds that they have a choice of being gay or straight. It is normal to like the opposite sex, not the same.

Also, children should know what gay people are and that they are allowed to get married like anyone else. It's a new world and gay people are just people, hiding them from children would just create more confusion and hate down the road. With that being said, I also don't think destiny needs any recognition for gay rights. Not because children might see it, or it's too political, but it's a damn videogame. People come here to escape a little from the real world. I enjoy my time on Xbox and if I wanted to hear about current events I would go on Facebook or watch the news.
