3 AntwortenBearbeitet von LifeTyde: 6/21/2015 1:43:56 PMYea I guess we just don't have as much money here, we have more population, or our dollar is worth more some how. I think it's the second one, we have a bigger population to dollar ratio! ( that or bungie's main sales manager has gone mad) Oh yea I'm from the U.S.A

5 AntwortenWhat do you pay for a gallon of milk? A gallon of gas? (Petrol) Cable monthly? (Internet and or tv) Cell phone? A 20 oz bottle of Sprite? Console controllers? Candy bars? Let's do the math and see if other prices line up.
-
3 AntwortenThe dollar is more powerful.
-
What do you pay for: - A bottle of coke? - A small flat? - Parking/hr? - The three channels you get on cable? - 1 lb or sugar? - And other '$20-40(US) games? ... Before your 20%(?) value added (sales) tax. I''d look to the home economy, its been screwing you sideways for 70 yrs now.

5 AntwortenMaybe it's revenge for making us pay all that money for a Jaguar. I mean it's just a souped up Ford.

£40! I think ill put the extra £5-10 and get a full game ie Halo 5.
-
This has nothing to do with Bungie or indeed exchange rates. It is all to do with 'local' taxes (VAT @ 20% in the UK for example) and other 'import' taxes. And before anyone says 'but I didn't import my digital copy', yes you did.

Two words... American revolution
-
For real , the price went up from 27 to 40 bar ? They can poke that right up their arse holes man , I'm out !
-
4 AntwortenIt comes out to the same amount. That's why it's the same price. Yes the euro is worth more than the dollar in the US, that doesn't change that working roughly 10 hrs on minimum wage gets you 80...euro or dollar.
-
While the Pound is worth more than the American dollar, Bungie must have reason to charge more overseas. My opinion, its a luxury tax. They make the game, and they may feel that since this is a game in high demand that if people want to play it in other countries, they can but it's going to cost more. As they say, "it's all about the money". I'm not saying this is fair, but since it is basically guaranteed that you won't get a reply from Bungie or at least one with any meat, someone has to give you the blunt honest answer. Just my opinion, could be wrong. But it truly is Always about the money.

4 AntwortenThe physical collector's edition is Game exclusive. And Game are money grabbing sons of whores too. That's part of the reason. I just lube up, bend over and preorder because there's no choice. :)
-
I would assume because of the different values in currency
-
1 AntwortenIt is more expensive because if we transferred your money and made it american or canadian it would give us about 80$ (collectors) and 40$ (regular) and 60$ (legendary version). Bungie takes your £s and turns it into american money.
-
4 AntwortenTake into account that our tax is included in price in the form of VAT at 20% the U.S. Pay much less than us in tax plus the sales in the US will be much higher than in the UK so they will sell it at a lower price. Add in the export costs to get it all to the UK. There you go that's why we will end up paying more for the game.
-
5 AntwortenI don't know? What's the average income? 40£ may be the same as $40 based on the economy.
-
Maybe because taxes are a different in your country. Just my guess.
-
1 AntwortenAm just glad i got it off the xbone for £27.99 before they changed it
-
I think a lot of it boils down to individual country policy, taxes, etc. I don't think it's the dev. Also not setting the prices though, so who knows.

Good question
-
12 AntwortenWhat is your hourly minimum wage in the UK?
-
Its currency exchange rates and dumb pricing
