DeeJ stated, in an interview with IGN's Destin Legarie that they're not intending to add vault space!
Here's why! Bungie, wants you to make choices, those choices define the player that you are!
We have to ask ourselves if last-gen is holding us back and Bungie is quite good at hiring PR agents, if they really want us to make tough decisions or are they just too lazy/busy to bother?
Some people have stated that they want to collect weapons as trophies of war....but they can't due to vault space constraints!
Is this bullcrap?? What do you guys think about this?!
Remember, I'm not stating my opinion here, I want to know what the community thinks!
Edit 1: Bungie! You have failed this community!
If you get this joke ^ you're awesome!

167 AntwortenBearbeitet von JLoco11: 6/19/2015 4:33:41 PMSimple math when it comes to guns: We have 126 spaces total for weapons. 28 known exotics (27 collectible right now since Fate of All Fools hasn't released to the public) 9 VoG guns 9 Crota guns 9 Arena guns 9 Trials of Osiris Guns 9 Current Queen guns 9 Iron Banner Guns 2 story/collectible weapons (Strangers Call, Murmur) that you could only get 1 time. 1 story collectible you can buy any time (Vestian Sidearm) There were 27 Vanguard weapons total There were 27 Crucible Quartermaster weapons total There are 12 guns that could drop in the Crucible now as an after game reward There were/are a total of 9 Faction weapons per faction for a total of 27 guns. The first Queen's Wrath event had 9 potential guns, but the event was only seen from 1 time. That's 187+ POTENTIAL Legendary or Exotic weapons someone could have collected. Obviously we don't need ALL of those and the majority would be dismantled, but considering how Bungie changes gun balance, which alters a set of weapons, it's a big reason why people will keep guns around. Remember how great the SUROS was? Remember how bad the Thorn & Bad Juju were? Remember when the 4th Horseman was useless, until people showed what it could do against Skolas during Arc Burn week? Remember when Fusion rifles ruled the crucible? Remember when the Fatebringer and Vision were stuck at 300 damage and people got rid of them for the Fang? Remember when Shotguns were pointless in PvE? Remember the Mythoclast being "stuck in time"? Or how many times changes to Fusion rifles inadvertently affected it? Have you rolled a Spear with Final Round since HoW? Nope Have you rolled a Felwinters Lie with Hammer Forged? Can't Will you ever get the Strangers Rifle from the game if you deleted it? Not unless you start a brand new character How many times did you run VoG to get a Foil/Fatebringer? How many Crota's did you kill to get a Crux? How long did it take for the Hawkmoon, Monte Carlo or 4th Horseman to drop as a PS exclusive? Could you afford to upgrade all your exotics when Xur was in the Tower for the Dark Below? And to suggest that because we don't use these, we should get rid of it? You played countless hours in a raid (the best game mode in the game), only to be told sacrifices have to be made? Just because the Auto Rifle nerf makes the Abyss Defiant less powerful, I should get rid of it? No, no, no. The stories Guardians could tell of how they earned their weapons, could probably trump the lack of story Destiny told us. We need vault space, because Bungie's weapon balancing always shifts the power to different weapons. Sure, let's dismantle the Red Death... only to see it buffed into a monster. Let's dismantle that Truth because the Ghorn destroys it... only to see how well it tracks in PvP. How about getting rid of that pre HoW gun because you can't roll it to perfection even though it has better stats than current weapons. If Guardians really wanted to make "a hard choice", they will just play something else.

Aka too -blam!-ing lazy
-
Bungie, if you release The Taken King without addressing the vault space issue adequately, you're going to have one hell of a fan uprising on your hands... You think your PR problems are bad now, wait until everyone stops playing Destiny because it's pointless. Why even bother releasing new guns? No one can keep them.

1 AntwortenThe only reason my vault is full is because I stored 10 fusion rifles in there for pocket infinity

3 AntwortenIt's a great thing to let players make choices that define their playing style. But if you look at other games that are choice-based, the world and NPC's change with those choises. If Bungie would be able to do that, this line DeeJ said would actually make sense
-
I laughed and shook my head when he delivered that line, Bungie needs to remember what they said months ago. So those things they said about guardians having a memorable story about their weapons was what? Just bs? Now they say that we need to make hard choices aka dismantle our guns to make space? That's one of the reasons I play this game lol to collect this shit in the first place. Sure there's the whole game and all of its features ok but don't sit there and tell me with a straight face "dudes and dudettes ya need to start deleting shit if you want room cause we ain't making you no more" it's whatever I'll make it work somehow. Players find ways as they say. This game and the people running it make me shake my head way too much lol way too much...
-
If this is true, I'm done with Destiny. I'm just going to stop playing. What kind of dumbass would design a loot based game, that emphasizes your characters individual story, when you have to throw away your loot and all the stories attached to them every time a new DLC drops?

Bearbeitet von Bytehoven: 6/30/2015 5:14:52 AMExcellent, and Deej and Bungie are right. Bungie's choice to not increase vault space did provoke me to start making some Destiny choices of my own. I stopped playing Destiny and won't be buying the TTK expansion. Gear management problem solved. Choices do have consequences.

1 AntwortenI agree with DeeJ. This is not hoarders. Pick what you need and go to war.

I've asked for an official response about this: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/134771344/0/0

"We want every weapon to have a story, to be legend." -Destiny Friend, "What happened to your once great Shadow Price that you got from your second Nighfall we were in where we almost wiped and clutched it at the end?" "I sharded it because I didn't have space for all the new weapons. I wish I didn't because the gun I sharded it for actually sucks and it was just a random drop." Friend, "Wow, that sucks because you can't get that gun anymore and it was such a great gun and we had awesome time getting it. Too bad that epic story and legend of how you got it was lost because of Bungie's greed to satiate all platforms and not focus on new gen. Wasn't that one of the reasons they were against trading too?"

1 AntwortenDeeJ is a spin doctor and liar.

I love destiny , spent so many days on it... But it's a couples of days that I really start lose interest, it's start to be complicated to manage weapons and gears! If I can not collect what I need for keep balanced my pg in every occasion I don't have anymore interest in play the game.
-
Uh...I'm pretty sure he said that we need to make the decision of what guns are worthy of being used for 10 years. Using the same guns for 10 years would be boring. He said nothing about last get consoles...wtf.
-
To anyone dumb enough to believe that its a "last gen problem" its not, ever play skyrim ? oblivion ? Fallout 3 & New vegas ? Vault space isn't a problem because of "last gen issues" that is a blanket statement to excuse the real reason why they don't want to add more vault space and that reason is that they are trying to cut costs on their server bills not because old gen systems couldn't handle it, they have to transfer data every time you access your vault, the images are likely downloaded to your console to save bandwidth (if they aren't then bungies doing it wrong). "old" gen systems could handle quite a bit of data (lets not forget GTA V runs on 360/ps3 and still looks great) so thats not the issue. It just comes down to "whats best for our pockets" and that is cutting costs, in addition to wanting to cut server costs its entirely possible that they may be trying to partially or in whole remove destiny servers altogether in an effort to only have to send updates to players (which would explain the "go form/join a clan" jab for OMM players, since matchmaking would require a server to be serving up information)

Bearbeitet von sergeantawesome: 6/20/2015 12:21:56 AMIt just feels like a justification for something else, a belief of theirs and not a very logical conclusion. I don't understand how that will enhance the gaming experience for anyone. However, I would like to see a post or link to when DeeJ made this statement and if the statement was made, how they came upon that conclusion if there is any sense in it. Something about this lacks any sense.

Was it an arrow reference

This is hilarious. I'm pretty sure that one of Bungie's biggest selling points on this game was that every gun was supposed to be unique. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it Bungie who claimed that every gun in this game was supposed to have a story behind it? That people would know that you just did something really difficult to get an exotic or raid weapon? The only weapons that meet that criteria in this game are the old ones, that newer players couldn't get. So everyone is supposed to have the same guns from the most recent DLC? LOL These guys are clueless
-
1 AntwortenSo when taken king comes out, i will have to delete all the old, then what was the point?
-
We don't need that space if u like ur old ones dnt get new ones and if the new ones are better than ditch the old ones. If they didn't add etheric light ppl would have moved on. And no one is switching all 10 guns in one slot every 2 kills. And non of you use all the guns in ur vault unless you only have 2 and then u shouldn't be bitching anyway. Get over it or move on.
-
They have mad it sound like our old weapons will be completely useless! :( I don't like that idea!
-
3 AntwortenOh no everybody cry, we need a few more rows in our vault haha grow up scrubs ;)
-
I don't know why this is such a big deal. The only way this becomes a problem is if for some stupid reason you want to collect all the guns. I have never had a problem with vault space.
-
1 AntwortenThey should just create an exotic weapons vault, separate from your main vault. This is more a trophy vault, like your grimoire. That should free up 20+ spots right away.
-
I've said this on threads since last September. The isn't the space it's the Vault system. The vault itself if a failed concept in an rpg. Hopefully in destiny 2 there is a logical inventory system that allows significantly more space and the ability to sort and organise. The vault is a fail.
-
I don't need that much space in vault, I already think is too much, i Don't even use all of my guardian slots. Just collect the stuff you want to use.
