Edit - Read the news.
Edit 2 - I think I need to clarify a couple of things.
I agree with some of you, Skolas needed changing a little.
A simple method of resuming the fight would have fixed it.
Checkpoints, maybe a card system similar to the trials that marks checkpoints when you complete one, then you can only enter at that point till you complete the next one.
Burning him down in 30 seconds doesn't always work whether it be wrong group wrong weapons or wrong teleports.
You're forced to then work the mechanics which is more fun anyway. Hard yes but not impossible.
What I hate is that people cry Hard content is Hard and Bungie rushes to change it. Valus? Autorifles?
Bungies sole focus should be in bugs and new content. Not pander to the babies who say I can't do this, I'm getting killed by that.
Edit 3 - There seems to be a large part of this community that are saying "I paid the same as you I deserve to be able to beat it" both about 35 PoE and the Trails of Osiris.
No you don't. Yes you should have ACCESS to the content you paid for. Actually being able to do it is another thing.
Not all men are created equal.
I for example have an inate ability to comprehend programming languages. But can I hell play the drums or learn a foreign language, as much as I've tried.
Same goes for this game. Put me in PvE content I'll be great. PvP something between brain and hands doesn't work maybe it's the pressure of having a real person in the other end.
It's no shame that you can't complete something some people can't.
Just don't EXPECT you have the right and moan and complain that they Nerf it.
Edit - 5
Ran Skolas last night, I have to take my hat off to Bunglevision the changes work. It's a more balanced and fair fight.
It's definitely easier than attempting legit was with the burns.
I can heartily recommend anyone who was dubious about running it due to difficultly to gives it a try. All you need is communication.
This is my final edit. Happy hunting Guardians.

5 AntwortenAtkeast it won't be players kicking others out because they didn't have the right gear for the weak

1 AntwortenUmmmm as a ghorn user and someone who has beaten him every week at least once, this is a buff, not a nerf. Sure the arc burn two shots may be a nerf, but now having to play the mechanics? I'd say in the long run that's a buff

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von InfernalArtist3: 6/12/2015 6:24:23 PMI'm actually expecting it to be harder without elemental burns. Imagine this with angry or grounded
-
The reason they have changed it is because the difficulty swung much to wildly from one extreme to the next week from week. Getting rid of elemental damage isn't going to make a huge impact on how hard it is. But will make an impact of not being one shoted by a -blam!-ing tracking arc round from some damn vandal
-
I wouldn't say they nerfed it. You actually have to complete the whole mechanic now
-
He's being nerfed. Now you can't burn him down with snipers or gallys..nerf?

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von checkawitz: 6/12/2015 8:33:02 PMI haven't tried skolas yet cause I don't have the gally, but are you mad and others mad because they are taking away the ability to just gally him to death in under 37 seconds? Edit: there needs to be check points on 34,35 poe.

Bearbeitet von TRS The Natural: 6/12/2015 7:36:27 PMI agree man. We have a bad whining culture in these forums. If people in real life whined like this we would not have professional athletes. Everyone would be given a Championship Ring. It is completely ridiculous that so many of our fellow guardians are entitled to everything.

We deserve all the gear and in a timely manner, this roadmap they gave us is really just a roadblock in disguise

1 AntwortenI think you mean the wieners have won.
you're a wiener.
The burns make him easier. You can nuke him before the mines even come out, especially solar. Take the burns out and it becomes a longer fight, which requires the whole group to move across the map. This is probably what Bungie wanted to begin with. There are still plenty of modifiers that will make the fight challenging. Not sure how I feel about it. I'll have to wait and see on Tuesday.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von The Loathsome Dung Eater: 6/12/2015 5:10:08 PMSkolas was a flawed fight from the get go. Needing specific weapons to burn a boss in 30 seconds before fight mechanics start isn't fun. Getting one shorted due to enemy burns isn't fun. Adds that never stop spawning isn't fun. I feel what they are doing is good for the fight. Adds popping at specific boss health is like the hard mode crota mechanic. Time your damage until you are ready to push him over. Being able to move as a group to disarm mines now instead of insta dying is a good mechanic. As it is now, the servitor on round 5 is more a challenge than Skolas himself is. It needed to be fixed to make it enjoyable. Disclaimer: I have gally and beat him every week. Not a whine thread, just my opinion how it isn't an enjoyable encounter. I'd like to think Bungie had a little more sense then to have the boss be a burn fest.
-
Yea, he's nerfed. Lol. I don't care, I haven't even done the 35 poe and no plan to any time soon. Lol
-
1 AntwortenSimple as this. He wasn't nerfed bungie was tired of people burning him in 30 seconds. So they tried to fix this. I assume they forgot that this ensured the ghorn strat is going to be the norm now.
-
I think you're under the mistaken assumption that he will be easier to kill now. I disagree. I think the burns made him easy as hell to kill in about 30-45 seconds. Without the burn multiplier, we're taking doing it legit. That will be harder, in my view.
-
1 AntwortenValus they didn't Nerf for months. And that was because people kept quitting due to its length not because they complained about how hard it is. Auto rifles weren't broken, they where fine on Day 1, they where just popular and for some reason Bungie doesn't like Auto Rifles to be popular so they nerfed them. Skolas, isn't hard, its unfair. The problem isn't the mechanics, it was the burns mixed with the fact the ads where yellow and +1 level. Arc burn? A dreg, Vandal, Captain could one shot you and did. Solar burn? A captain and Skolas could one shot you for doing everything right. They burns needed to be gone due to the high amount of enemies that kept spawning and never stopped. Health interval spawns? - Good change Nerfed health? - bad change No more Element burns? - Good Change

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von boys nite: 6/12/2015 7:47:13 PMWeak, pathetic fools are we? I don't give two flying fvcks you elitist sh!t, after spending a collective 18 hours trying to kill Skolas' b!tch a**, any kind of nerf is warmly fvcking welcomed. Edit: 'collectively' as in only last week, because I'm not bothering with him this week
-
I beat him with my brother. But I can agree he needed some tweaks. Everything had to go near perfect to burn him in 30 seconds and its stupid if he teleports on the mines. Not to mention if someone dies and they were next in line for the debuff that I cannot remember its name but we all know what I'm talking about. And the massive amount of endless spawns are just as troublesome.

Bearbeitet von OsbourneD3: 6/12/2015 8:06:46 PMMy first Skolas ever. Did it semi-legit. Tried to burn him down on the start but he managed to blink in close. Had to get in the dance. Move to 7:09 to see me, a maxed armor Titan with full health get one-shot by a sneaky Captain. The elemental damage was way too brutal.
-
2 AntwortenIt wasnt people whining they couldn't beat him, it was the internal numbers Bungie gets of completions dropping like a rock after the first week. When people found out the rewards were garbage compared to ToO, it just wasn't worth the time invested.
