Resurgence of the cheat?
For the first time, since the launch, i'm noticing that a few people seem to have become bullet-proof, again. I may be being unreasonable or misinformed but i've checked my connection, speed is good, hardwired to router, but I got so p/o'd that I chased a bullet proof guy down and stabbed him 4 times (i'm hunter class). He still had his full shield and health and shotgunned me. I hope it's just lag issues.

Here's typical Iron Bladder BS: https://youtu.be/Q6m6_AGuPn0 I (Level 34 titan) clearly hit the Level 32 Titan with my rocket before he went into the Titan Fists of Havoc animation. He should be dead and I should have been alive. Also notice just how fast their health also go up after the encounter too. I saw lots of shenanigans in IB that all show u as green bars - but odd crap happening (i.e. magnetic titan grenades passing through peoples chests neither sticking nor detonating) too.

2 AntwortenI noticed some shady things during IB. Some of it can be attributed to regular lag but there were some matches that were just.....off. A couple of matches there were some very odd deaths through walls which was happening to everyone on my team. I'm not talking about someone hiding behind a crate but like 5 feet or greater of (apparent) concrete. Maybe it's just lag but it seemed shady.

When I get a kill the guy always drops after a significant delay. I really cant see myself playing much more pvp because I am always fighting this handicap and I can never gauge my performance/improvement. Just yesterday I was constantly getting what felt like 1 shotted by crappy blue scout rifles. I would be engaging these guys for less than a second and only hear 1 or 2 shots at most and be down. In all my experience using your average scout rifle it takes at least 4 or 5 precision shots to drop someone. It's just unheard of. This is Bungies bogus lag compensation at work. No player it seems, is ever experiencing engagements at the same time. In your eyes you're seeing this players for what feels like less than a second but on their end you have appeared on their screen much earlier. One player always seems to benefit from this and I'm assuming it's whoever has the slower connection. Same with rubber banding. It's clear to you that you've made it to cover but the bullets find you anyway. Bottom line it's becoming unplayable.

4 AntwortenIf you have a green bar and coming up against reds or yellows you're gonna have a bad time. It's not cheating, its a little thing called lag compensation.

It's a fine line...I have had a couple times where I was about to report a guy then he is no longer in the game. He or she wasn't losing either. That is obviously bad connection or something innocent. Now when I kill a guy and he doesn't go down multiple times and still finishes the game then he is a cheater in my eyes

3 AntwortenIve shot 2 rockets directly into a titans chest and he kept coming and melee me to death, it didn't even pop his shield.... Also, the people who have been banned for cheating by Bungie, is it temporary or permanent?

3 AntwortenIt's hard to determine if it's lag or cheating sometimes. There is no doubt that people are so terrible at this game they need to resort to cheating to be competitive, but everyone with a bad connection isn't a cheater.

1 AntwortenHad a guy playing a hunter on rusted lands come near C and we had four guys punching him, one guy fist of havoc'd him and nothing. He kept doing that lame teabag crap as we punched him, etc. then he took out a shotty and killed three of the group But I have seen less of what I would think is cheating this IB than the last one tbh

1 AntwortenThe IB guy and the crucible guy should both say the laaaaggggg is real in the IB and crucible. We had a couple of good rounds last night in IB then all the sudden we couldn't kill hardly anybody we could hit them with supers have several of us throwing grenades and shooting 1 guy and yet he starts bouncing into a wall taking no damage and kills all of us then teleports away full of health.

3 AntwortenWell if they'd permabanned the cheaters from TOS instead of giving them a temp one and still letting them in the game it wouldn't have been so bad. Pretty sure a lot of guys banned from there ended up in the IB to cause trouble. The problem is that they can't really tell the cheats from those suffering from their crap pvp setup. Especially when folks with normally good connections routinely dropped to yellow or red as soon as they got into the IB and back to green when they left. Let's face it as long as the cash keeps rolling in and the cheaters keep playing to make the game numbers look good Bungie doesn't give two craps about the non elite players.

It's amazing the difference in lag between Iron Banner and normal Crucible, even this week... It has to be on Bungie's end. I can't believe that half of the people playing are cheating. That being said, I haven't seen lag like this since I was in college playing Halo with a glorified dial up connection. LOL

I get the same on rare occasion. I seem to notice modded controllers a bit more though.

What console are you on? I've not noticed anything on XB1, but haven't been able to play a ton lately. Although I did notice a teammate tank 3 golden gun shots the other day...

1 AntwortenI've had a few similar. One took 3 truth rockets to the head and a shotgun blast as I followed him around the map. No change to his health at all. Then he turned and one shot me!

360 & both PS3-4 are getting more & more cheaters that manipulate lag in a game to their advantage when it comes to trials & iron banner. Xbox has yet to be hit as bad as those systems.

4 AntwortenWhat console? If you're on last gen, there has been alot of ppl console hacking and playing with godmode. Quite a few videos on YouTube about it. If you are on current gen, prolly bad lag.

1 AntwortenI think there is way more to it than just lag. I know that I'm not very good at PvP, and will loose most gunfights. But when I know it's a connection issue it pisses me off. When people can just run around invincible, I refuse to believe it's simply lag.

Lag is only a strategical problem if half of the enemy team is doing it. You get distracted by one or two bullet sponges, then the other guys light you up. If everyone on their team is lagging it is just a cluster -blam!- and all bets are off as to who will win the match. Neither side really gets and advantage at that point.
