Would it be nice to upgrade common sparrows and legendary sparrows to exotic sparrows with insane speeds. No need to change name or etc, just speed they go. There are drives from Xur that upgrade rare to legendary. How about letting the same drives upgrade any sparrow to the next specific rarity and speed increased to 50% every time. So example would be Green sparrow - stealth drive = rare sparrow with red boost, than void drive = legendary sparrow with green/purple trail. Lastly another drive used on it = exotic sparrow with 3 multi-colored trail behind it and speed = 10 times faster than timebreaker with overdrive upgrade on it. Basically Green sparrow to rare to legendary to exotic = 4 drives from Xur. Each drive adds color, speed and last drive adds overdrive to it. Now lets say you use it on graverobber or timebreaker, they upgrade to exotic and increases speed plus color by 100% so they would still remain the fastest sparrows. Also would remove overdrive explosion so you could just keep going faster and faster, just don't hit a wall. Color = trail color. Plus we need new sparrows anyway, so do you like this idea? Lastly we do need a sparrow/ship customizations, but I will save that idea for later.
