With Iron Banner coming at reset, I've come to realization that I just suck at PvP (my K/D is around like .2) but I haven't really dedicated much time to it either. If i was to play more, would I just naturally get better? Is it something that is taught? Or are you just born with it?
Overall, would it make me a better Destiny player all around?
What do you think? Put you comments below!

you will never master your class until you go to your limits vs other players. or get rekt by someone else and learn from them. i am so much better in pve now since i play so much crucible
-
Does it make you a better overall player? Yes it does, simply because it can make you a contributing factor in any part of this game. They are two different world's however, and if your ever in need of a pvp fireteam member, I'm in!
-
Not at all. All it makes you do is strafe side to side and bunny hop in PvE and look like a tard.

I say no. When I spend a week playing pvp I constantly die in pve. But when I ignore pvp I do a hell of a lot better. IMO

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von TeslaDoc: 6/1/2015 1:57:14 AMYes. I'm not particularly excellent in PvP but I played and played and now my K/D is positive and I'm doing better each time I play. I'm still trying to stack up enough kills to fill in the massive death hole I dug for myself when I was a noob. If you are interested in getting better at PvP, here is my advice: Every time you die, figure out why you died and learn from it.

No with cheap strats and bs guns supers and lag it just doesn't help you out whatsoever
-
Well you can't two shot high leveled enemies in PvE with hand cannons... ;)

16 AntwortenHere's how I feel about PvP, take it for what u want. I think it's kinda bullshit for a major PvPer to be able to go into PvE and get all he loot and weapons the PvE crowd can get when a PvE player goes into crucible, iron banner, trials and get totally wrecked and barely get anything if nothing for their effort and time spent. This is not the case for all PvE players though. I'm the first to admit I'm no where near top tier pvp. I doubt I'm even mid tier. I did iron banner so so. Rank 4 and rank 5 on two chars. I do ALOT of PvE raiding. Yet I tried ToO today for the first time today and got hammered every match. I'd say out of 2-3 card wipes I got MAYBE a total of 4 kills. That's how bad it was. I was either Thorn'd or sniped or arc bladed. I might not but as of putting roughly 2 hours of my time I got zilch to show for it. Yeah that's really fun... Point is, giving top tier PvP players top tier PvE loot is like a slap in the face to PvPer who's put in WAY more time having to for raids, redo wipes, disconnects etc, just to clear bosses and learn how the raids work. Don't get me wrong, I think everything should be difficult to get gear, but ToO is on a much much harder scale. Not everyone likes skirmish. Not everyone wants a 3 man team. Should be able to form 3 OR 6 man fireteam imo, and choose what kind of bracket to play in. Skirmish/control/rumble etc. Maybe I'm just rambling, but my experience with ToO has been crap so far and makes not want to even touch it again.

You have to learn to play the game rather than just do it or you will never know what you're doing right or wrong. It will make to better in some minor areas but even though it feels like it lately the game doesn't revolve around PVP. As for PVP go find your bread and butter then roll with it. If it's what's meant for you no matter what popular opinion is the chances are that you will like the gun that you have. For me it would be similar to how I use the Hide and Seek - 42 in crucible versus other shotguns. The point is any weapon can be good in crucible if used properly.
-
You will definitely get better at it if you take your time to think about how you died each time. If you blindly play and die constantly, then you won't. You can learn by watching how others play on youtube. Otherwise the best way to learn is from experience. I think it would make you a slightly better player as you'll increase your awareness and accuracy skills. But overall there's still a learning curve for PvE as you have to learn the AI movements in each place.

I despise PvP

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von SirLepht: 6/1/2015 3:29:45 AMI'm in the same boat man. I'm looking for some people I can form a team with and grow as a player. It's the whole reason I joined this clan (aside from wanting people to go on raids with) so I'm excited to be apart of it. I'm new here, so if you ever want to play hit me up. Gt is SirLepht

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Zediii: 6/1/2015 1:07:39 AMPvP takes time to get good at. At least for me :-). I have been grinding since day one and am finally on the cusp of hitting a 1.0K/D. I do find that they are two completely different play styles. Hang in there. You'll get there :-)

Yea I feel it does. Good practice against good opponents.
-
It really doesnt it just takes a new mindset that things can kill you in one hit and then painfully molest your dead body.
-
Pvp is largely reaction time and motor control. That's what you get from playing PVP. Pve enemies behave and move very differently. Now if you use hand cannons this can be very beneficial as it'll allow you to string kills together quickly while on the move.

1 AntwortenWell I don't usually pvp a lot, but crucible has made me more aware and smart in pve. I have also became a lot more skilled with my aim with most of the weapon types.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von pjt75: 6/1/2015 2:17:53 AMTechnically yes since being well rounded in all aspects of the game will make you better overall. That said, ability in pvp does not necessarily carry over to pve and vise versa as different skills are often required for the very different situations. However, practice against human controlled targets will help with response time over all, so if you want to play, by all means. Certainly won't make you worse.

Legends are forged in the Crucible.

I sucked at pvp for the longest time. I played a ton, grinded it out, now I will most definitely hold my own weight. But as with anything you have good days and bad days. Practice! You will get better homie
-
Doesn't matter how much skill you have in destiny. In the end it's all random..sadly.
-
I think practice at anything is going to make you better, or at least more experienced in that activity. BUT the degree of that improvement is based on natural talent. You might play PvP constantly but your KD might only increase by .5 or something. Some players are just naturally gifted, and will be showed with riches from ToO. Play in the area you get the most enjoyment from. Thats the important factor.

1 AntwortenIn my personal opinion, I feel it is easier to take a crucible player and teach them PvE than make a PvE player better at PvP. Take that as you will, but it's my feeling.
-
1 AntwortenIt makes you an angrier player
-
Yes because your reflexes are tested alot more strenuously. It definitely helps in pve. Headshots, taking cover, tripmine placement, timing your super etc. All these and more are basic components in pvp that bleed, not only in pve, but in other fps games as well

Lately we have been playing alot of PvP due to the fact we do not have a group to play the PvE until now. I think it has helped me and the more I play I notice I get better scores every time until we meet a team that has been playing since the dawn of time HAHA. So I think the answer to this question would be a yes.
