Some people may be stuck at level 32 indefinitely.
There are a lot of people, including myself, who don't have a lot of time to play Destiny. And when i do have time, it's rather difficult to round up friends to do the more advanced end game levels and raids and this is the only way you might get Etheric light to max out your gear and weapons and reach level 34. Since Bungie has a ridiculous policy on not allowing matchmaking for much of their more advanced content getting Etheric light is going to be a huge struggle for a lot of people. And the random nature of the Etheric drops will inevitably lead to a percentage of players hopelessly stuck on 32. Before HoW you could at least grind for crucible and vanguard marks and then buy gear and weapons to break down to max your gear out or grind in iron banner.
There really needs to be a better way to reach max level. I still love Destiny, but this is just bad game design. I guess i won't be playing as much Destiny as i hoped.

Destinylfg.com dude I use it all the time there's always people on looking for the same thing. Takes no time at all and now I'm rolling in etheric light started upgrading everything I own not just my regular gear because why not?

34 poe runs take like 15-30 minutes for a gurenteed etheric light.

1 AntwortenI thought the same thing at one point. Here's what you do. Run 32 PoE with some people. Get armor cores. Buy the 42 gear from Varicks. Do that 3 times and upgrade an exotic, and you hit 34. Then if you don't like your gear, do 34 PoE for Etheric Light and upgrade gear you actually like.

If your on 32, you can get on the forums, where you just posted and find 2 people and get an armor core. It is a different armor piece each week and 4 will get you to 34. Then do 34 and get etheric light. I'm not being a smartass or anything just trying to help. You can get 34 little by little if you try. If it's not worth it to spend the time then Destiny isn't the game for you.

Matchmaking should be optional, but no it's definitely the easiest it's ever been to reach level cap. I've been 34 for all characters before the end of week two

I hit 34 on two characters the day HoW dropped. It's too easy now. It's nothing like forever 29, or even the struggle for 32 that many had. It literally is the easiest way to reach end game...

Agreed, I don't see why Bungie is so against raid matchmaking. It's no different than us coming to the forums and posting for a group. Those against matchmaking will say that you can see who it is you're inviting before doing so, but that's never the case. Everyone jumps at the first person asking for members or a group without checking their stats or gear, or risk losing them. Simply put, if matchmaking isn't for you then don't use it, but don't deprive the rest of us of a feature you're not forced into using.

1. it takes 5 minutes to find a team of forum randoms 2. its easier to reach max level now than it was before HoW. nobody can deny that. you can get lvl 34 with only 1 level 32 POE per week for 4 weeks guaranteed. before HoW it took 1 crotas end raid per week for 2-3 months to reach 32 minimum or more if you had poor RNG.

Stop -blam!-en complaining its alot easier this way then have to raid let rng give u the gear then raid more for the materials all you have to do is play 32 poe get armor cores n wait to buy the gear u need

Iron banner sells etheric light at rank 3 and 5. Get a light from 34 and 35 arena. Get a light at 5 and 8 wins in trials. Use this forum to find friends. It's not as hard as you think.

I just wish they could implement ways for solo players to get to max level, even if they were long, multi step quests you had to complete just to get 1 piece of armor (actually, that would be awesome). Maybe said quests could be obtained the same way Exotic Bounties are obtained, by turning in regular bounties. Would be cool if you could obtain raid level weapons the same way.

I think the opposite. Reaching level cap before was limited to doing the raids. You only had one activity to reach the cap. Some people would argue that Iron Banner could help you reach level cap, but they didnt sell the helmet until the end of year 1 Destiny. So solely doing Iron Banner didn't allow anyone to reach the cap for a very long time. Now, you have various ways to get etheric light. Nightfalls, PoE, ToO and Iron Banner. Optionally you can do PoE and ToO to obtain gear that is already ascended, so getting to level cap right now is easiest it's ever been.
