The lighthouse, seriously?
Edit: All you PVPers, why does it matter if your gun has an element, please share
Edit 2: well, looks like 37% of players can read a post without instant bias and comprehend a constructive idea without saying "git gud" in different ways. 63% are the rest. I wonder if the polls would be similar if i asked if thorn needed a rate of fire change? Probably same people voting for same things. Thanks for any of you "no" voters who wrote a constructive responce (though there arent many)
Edit 3: Many people say that most play pvp and pve, but the majority of PVP posts i see here are generalizing PVE players as whiners, babies, pricks, and douchebags. I think that you might be off on your stats. Heres a hint, look at what all the PVP players did to the weapons. Nerfed them into the ground to the point of being useless in PVE. I think we know what these people care about. (See what i did there, gemeralization, but in this instance it is well founded)
This isnt another one of those lighthouse should be for PvE posts, but it does concern the rewards.
My only problem with the lighthouse?
It gives elemental primaries. Very stupid, and before commenting, read.
Beforehand, the only way to get elemental primaries was to beat the hardest PVE content in the game, and used in PVE to make it easier/faster.
Elements do not matter in PVP, so say someone who has never done a raid gets one of these weapons, it makes PVE way easier than just the regular weapons.
PVP had IB every month, PVE had raids. Each has armor and weapons specially tuned for their aspect of the game. There is no way you will see someone doing well with crota gear and any crota elemental primary compared to someone with full IB armor/weapons.
This is the only instance that the two sides share a common item.
The best at PVE get the best PVE gear, must play crucible to get the best PVP gear.
The best at crucible get the best PVP gear and get an elemental primary to help in PVE.
The elemental primaries are trophies for the sole PVE players, make the lighthouse weapons glow, change colors, and have a disco animation as a skin for all I care, but let PVE players keep their jewels as well.

No IB gear has HC or pulse rifle perks. 2 of the most used weapons in crucible. No IB gear allows you to carry extra heavy ammo. I can get both pulse rifle and extra heavy ammo perks on Crota gear. I get HC perks from vendor gear. I'd rather have 4 rockets than just 2 or 3. And why would I want extra primary weapon(scout/AR) ammo in crucible? And why do you care if PvP rewards elemental guns? Some people play PVE and PVP. It's another way to get elemental guns you can use in other parts of the game. Lots of people use IB guns in PVE. Ghelion's Demise, Jolder's Hammer, Felwinter's Lie, etc. And many use raid weapons in crucible. Swordbreaker, VoC, WoC, Oversoul Edict, Fang, Corrective Measure, etc. How does that effect you in any way?

A lot of people who love pvp also do pve all the time like myself. I like having the opportunity to get elemental primaries based on my skill over beating an easy 35 Poe and having rng decide my fate . Just cause us pvpers love pvp doesn't mean we don't touch the pve as well . Both are fun and both deserve to have great endgame rewards.

Believe it or not some people play pve [b]AND[/b] pvp. I hate word of crota so I did ToO and got a void jewel. You are assuming that people that did 9-0 in ToO don't play pve which you are absolutely wrong about.

Well the trials isn't made to get you better PvP gear the reason I say this is because the amour seem to help with all game types so this could just be a substitute to the pvp people to get the same gear as the people who play only PvE

Trials is pretty clearly Bungie's answer to players cheesing and exploiting their way through Raids to get highly sought-after gear. Those activities were SUPPOSED to be the most difficult in the game. In reality, they quickly became a joke as players found workarounds or out-and-out cheats (the Crota kneel glitch; pushing Atheon off the ledge). Trials isn't just for PvPers. It's so much fun, even for a majority PvEr and average crucible player like myself.

I've gotten the scholar (adept) with solar damage and it works wonders in PoE so yeah it matters IMO because they are 365 primary and can assist in NF PoE ect. Plus it's a nice trophy to have.

I voted no. And yes I read your entire post. You make good arguments but none of them matter as you are forgetting one thing. Elemental weapons drop from end game activities, not specifically from raids. Also, you are looking at it all wrong op. Not everyone who does pvp is a pvp only player. I think it's safe to say that the majority of players are like myself and play both game modes. Also, the sole reason the crucible exists is to prepare guardians for battle with minions of the darkness and having elemental weapons will help.

I am an avid PvE player, but have gotten into PvP recently. Who gives a shit about what guns go where? Hell, I'm gonna try my best to go 9-0, I want those elemental primaries.

It's like your saying just because pvp players don't like doing PVE that we don't do it xD I'm pretty sure they do nightfalls and raids too just not as often as people not so keen as to test their skills in the crucible little light

Its rewarding Going 9 and no is harder imo than completing a 35 poe. PvP players finally get a weapon that is not only used for PvP take example Iron banner primaries, in burns and raids they aren't that useful since its kinetic damage. There are already enough elemental primaries but if you want an arc auto, solar pulse I understand, its just that PvP players finally get weapons that aren't just good in PvP but as well in PvE

I guess I get what your saying, the best exotics for crucible (Thorn & Inective) are from bounties that you can only get if you do good in Crucible. I guess I should specify the best exotics with bounties.

8 AntwortenSaying I'm a PVE player is the same as saying I suck at Destiny. I'm not good at this first person shooter and I lack the ability to process information quick enough to play PVP. "PVE" players use the I'm a PVE player because it's hard to admit "I'm crap at this game" but I enjoy the game and reward system just like anyone else.

For some people it may be different, but I play both pvp and pve and I have been DYING for a real challenge and real show of appreciation to the pvp side. Because I play both I love that I can get new elemental primaries from pvp and use them in pve. Also I think Bungie realized that too many people only play one half of their game, the pvp side or the pve side, and this dlc is the bridge for those people, encouraging raid teams to play pvp and encouraging amazing pvp players to play pve with their new elemental primaries

1 AntwortenI think I see a lot of people thinking PvE and PvP are different games all together you play 1 or the other and the stuff you get from each should stay where you got it... Destiny is all 1 game and I don't want it to reward us this way... I want to get awesome guns and armor from both PvE and PvP and take them where ever I want and make good use of them. ToO imo, is the best thing to happen to PvP far better than IB and I hope a lot more events like this start being made. I hated PvP, now I just want the weekend to come I want to skip PoE and hop straight back into ToO.
