Use Etheric Light for Armor 1st, then Weapons. Here's Why!
I know it's been argued a lot that lvl 34 is much better than a 365 fatebringer or VoC due to survival and better damage output.
But here's one reason to do armor first. Yesterday I did the lvl 34 PoE. Got to Urrox. On my lvl 34 Hunter, I was hitting him with headshots on my black hammer (331) for 9103 per shot .
I dropped my armor to 33, and my damage dropped to 6100 per shot.
Edit: going to test a 365 Blackhammer at lvl 33 and 34 against Urrox....unless someone can test that if they have the set up. Will update OP.
Edit: on a side note too, at lvl 34 facing Urrox, my 365 Icebreaker was dealing 10k per headshot. Only 900 more than my 331 Blackhammer.
I now have a 300 fatebringer and a 365 fatebringer. I'll post the difference later today.

300 fatebringer in vog hard does 1505 damage u need explosive rounds to one shot a goblin and it messes up the Firefly perk alot. Now when I upgraded to 365 it does 1926 I believe and it will one shot a Hobgoblin Firefly every time

2 AntwortenBut now if you did flawless ToO on all three characters like my self, you get a boat load of etheric light. Maxed out my fb. Vision. Word of crota and blackhammer. And still have 5 etheric lights left. But definitely do armor first.

i have 2 acsended fatebringers cause why not, ones not even upgraded and is at 300 ones at 365 also have 365 corrective meaure, voc, black hammer, and found verdict

True, it might not be ideal, but any extra etheric light you could spend on your old guns like fang/fb/voc etc **I do agree with your statement though. It is wiser to spend the light on armor before guns, you'll always do more dmg and more importantly you can take far more damage. I was just posing an alternative

Personally I'm doing it the other way around. I can get maxed out gear from the prison and trials. ....but I won't be getting a 365 fatebringer from the VoG. My real life friends tell me they regret using it on gear now that they're getting maxed out armour. It comes down to a little patience. IL gladly wait tomorrow in hopes that I can get the boots I'm missing to be 34. (exotic helm, prison gloves, trials chest) That's just my two cents. Play any way you want. (just have fun doing it)

1 AntwortenYou're right but I have a lot of legendary weapons I want to upgrade. Variks will sell 3 different armor pieces eventually. Not to mention the ToO armor you can get. So in my case spending etheric light on any armor would just be a waste

3 AntwortenIf you do Trials 3 times, ( especially Flawless like me and my group ), you can actually get a ton of etheric light. I didn't think I would actually get three 34's this week, but my friends talked me into Trials. Boom, three 34's, and like 6 max weapons now. I still have two etheric light as well.

I did surprisingly, upgrade all my custom built CE gear first. I feel like I needed a set of gear that I know and like with discipline and intellect, then once I start getting better gear then I will switch over. I also go my fate bringers upgraded

Thats why I made my titan 34 first and then upgraded fate bringer and VOC to 365 after. I will use my Titan to level the other two characters to 34.
