Should flawless passage characters be locked out until the next trials starts?
Edit 1.3: Flawless players could still face other flawless players for additional rewards/challenge.
EDIT 2: I DID IT. I GOT GUD.
Edit 2.1: For those of you that want to help your friends. Teams could be limited to one 9-0 teammate. You could still help your friends, but it would keep two 9-0 players from carrying strangers (there are threads) through the trials.
Edit 3: I'm just trying to find a reasonable solution to "scrub stomping". It's like smurfing in League of Legends. There should be no pride in beating people much less skilled than yourself, you should have to fight teams of equal skill. 9 wins in a row against equally skilled teams is still an accomplishment worthy of the lighthouse.
Personally, I think this is one of the best solutions I have read all week. Characters that complete a flawless 9-0 passage should be locked out until the next Trials starts. This brings the PvP endgame content more in line with PvE endgame content (weekly reward lockouts) and also gives additional players an opportunity to go 9-0 without facing a team that already has.
Another great idea is that teams should be matched up based on the number of wins/losses on their passage card.
Thoughts?
Edit 1: "Or 9-0 teams can only face each other for the rest of the week" -CarpentryHero
^This is also a valid idea, not only would they have gotten their first loot drop, but they can fight equally skilled teams for another!
Edit 1.2: "That idea is OK but not prefered, I'd rather see them have tiers and if you go undefeated you only play against other undefeated teams. Or something like that. I don't think they shouldn't get to play anymore, they just shouldn't be allowed to play against people who haven't completed it yet." -plope125
^Same as above.

2 AntwortenThis is funny... Everyone who essentially wants a skill based ranking system in trials, in order to help them get to the lighthouse, are the same people who were crying about ranked play lists in halo. There are no participation medals in real life kids. Thank you bungee for making an honest attempt at creating a balanced, competitive playlist out of the mess that is destiny PvP What is it that all of you PvE players want so badly from the lighthouse anyways? All the (adept) weapons are unrollable and PvP oriented...

I think that players should be matched not by purported skill, but by the game history of their Passage Card. So people with one win and 1 loss would be matched to those with an identical score card.
-
The fact that you think only 9-0 should face 9-0 is idiotic and ridiculous. It even says on the Lighthouse, "Only the best may set foot in these parts". It's supposed to be a challenge, only the best in crucible can complete it. If you aren't good, then practice in Skirmish before it starts? Don't go into ToO, if you know you're just gonna get clubbed like a baby seal.
-
It's called seal clubbing tbh.

Why? You can't get rewards for flawless twice on one character. The whole thing in Destiny is the social aspect. Friends helping eachother and even helping complete strangers you've encountered at an LFG site. You should be happy that there are people in this community that (unlike the people in this forum) like to help other persons and are nice to other people. I guess you're just pissed because your win streak was broken by people with the so desired exotic emblem. You should know that when you're good at something, there's always someone who's better at it
-
But everyone loves to smurf :)
-
No to all ideas. There was a post on reddit that said it better. But what's the point of trials if there isn't a challenge it would just get easier and easier, the whole point of trials is too struggle against the odds and win just like Osiris did. The only reason why people want this is too see the lighthouse which is just a glorified chest room. And if it's the rewards, why should someone have an easier time then I have and had to struggle less to get their rewards because they started later, at that point most people would just wait until the last day to play trials when they don't have competition which is stupid. The whole entitlement thing is stupid. Just because you can't cheese this like raids doesn't mean you should have an easier time.

Bearbeitet von StoneStep 1014: 5/26/2015 10:57:34 AMTeams shouldn't be matched up based on skill. Then you'll be complaining because you got kicked from poor connection. All match making everywhere needs to be connection based until dedicated servers are used.
-
One issue, the flawless Osiris should never be locked out because they fought hard to get their rewards. Now they have achieved such award they should have the opportunity to stop people from also getting them so that their rewards actually mean something. We are not all Olympic medalists, therefore we don't all deserve medals.

I really like the idea of facing other flawless teams after completing it!

3 AntwortenIf the class items dropped from the lighthouse chest I would agree. Some of my buds were just playing to get the cape. Plus it's fun giving people their third loss.
-
2 AntwortenNo.. Don't be so ignorant we still want stuff to drop from trials even if we have gone flawless.. I still want to complete my watcher set and get that shader.. Trials is also the most fun crucible game mode to play imo if you can't handle people who are good go play control with the rest of the scrubs

6 Antworteni play 1 hour of trials and go flawless , so after that im locked out the whole rest of the weekend from the trials content, just that noobs like you can try not to get stomped for atleast one time. sounds fair to me. if you're shit deal with it , and dont lock good players out of the content we all paid for lol

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von ChuckTownRC51: 5/26/2015 10:57:34 AMAll the people on here who think this is a bad idea and actually get pleasure out of "keeping people out of the lighthouse" are everything that's wrong with this game. I'm not good at crucible, big deal. It's a game it's meant to have fun. If you enjoy just denying people that fun then you are a sad miserable asshole who probably has a shitty life and has to come one here to try to bother people. You want to spread misery because you're a cancer of a human being. This game is marred with connection issues, no skill based matchmaking and ridiculously unbalanced guns and supers. If you think it's some kind of actual life achievement to do well in this or any video game you're a total idiot. It's a -blam!-ing video game, get over yourselves you clowns.

I think if they get 9 wins at all they should get a lockout or a card limit. Then they'd have to make the choice if they were 8/1 to turn into/discard that card and hope for flawless, or take the 9/1 card for that prize and wait for next week like PvE players must. If lockout doesn't work, after a 9 win card you can only buy 5 more cards that weekend. Plus I think it should track stats over multiple ToO and match people.of similar skill
-
Ok fine, if flawless trials lock out people who complete it so demand everyone need a 20 win streak. If you want to stack the deck that bad you'll have to put twice as much effort into it.
-
Come on now, you don't need to lock us out. We like playing.
-
Agreed. If you've done it, you're done. Move on.
-
But this means only the bad teams will still be around by the end of the weekend...if people still want to pub stomp they'll just wait till then.
-
That gear in the lighthouse is for the champions it actually says something along those lines somewhere if you need to lock out everyone who did that in a week to get a chance of doing that then you don't meet the requirements. The idea of divisions depending on flawless victories is good but saying locking winners out is silly oh hey you won flawlessly your reward? A gun for ToO and a week ban enjoy!
-
So then I can just wait until all the good players are gone on sunday and monday and then stomp on everybody for my flawless? That would make it even easier for good players to go flawless if they wanted to.
-
personally I think Lockout after you go 9-0 is a great idea or at least don't allow 2 people that have went 9-0 into the Arena again as a Fireteam on those characters (not per account) so people can still help each other, but are not abusing the system I understand the "get good" etc, and helping people is a great idea too, so if things stay the way they are - I don't really care
-
Looking through the replies, all people for lockout are non-flawless and against are flawless. I think that all flawless should be promoted to that higher 'league' and they can fight for their shader or mark or whatever.
And before you say I'm a scrub, I'm a flawless too. I just think it's funny looking at the split.
2 AntwortenGreat idea. Lock out the thorn spamming try hards.
-
I agree with this
-
3 AntwortenNothing's better than letting the other team know that they've lost when they see that you and your two friends have the exotic emblem. Flawless people shouldn't be locked out because not all of them are good, hell, a lot of them suck the D. There's also no difference between someone who went flawless and someone who is destined to be flawless.
