The most common posts, and the most active threads, are requesting optional matchmaking for Trials of Osiris and Prison of Elders. Moreover, all of the independent reviews that I've read of the House of Wolves specifically, and the broader game in general, question your baffling decision not to include optional matchmaking throughout.
I have yet to see a cogent argument against optional matchmaking, yet every day many people present well-articulated arguments for it. Optional matchmaking would enhance the experience of thousands of players every day, and would negatively affect none.
You say you listen to us, so let's see it.
Edit: For the sake of visibility, I posted this in Feedback, too. Deej replied twice on that post! Check it out. It gets pretty entertaining. But, the overwhelming majority - at least if those who commented - want optional MM for PoE and ToO.

3 AntwortenNo matchmaking for poe makes no sense.

Im sorry but if WoW and other games can implement matchmaking for a 25 man raid, there is no reason they couldn't do it for 3-6 people. If you already have a team, optional matchmaking has no effect on you at all. I don't have people on all the time and don't feel like waiting for a response from a 3rd party lfg site or app. It should already be in the game.

add optional matchmaking. spam the forum with it as tital.

They're attempting to make a cohesive community, it's bungie's thing.
-
They would make it forced matchmaking like they did with the weekly heroic

I agree optional matchmaking would help lots of people. But it is a bottom of the list issue in comparison to actual game play issues such as glitches, connectivety issues, etc. In the meantime there are plenty of lfg sites and this very forum to find people quickly to run any event. You'll actually find more component people on these sites than you would through random matchmaking. People who actually want to do the event rather than sit there and eat chips through matchmaking while the others do all the work. Saying bungie isn't listening to us is a false accusation as its been proven that they have fixed many things that the community has addressed. Optional matchmaking will come in time. Just be patient and keep the anger away from the forums. These forums already have enough issues with babies about thorn

3 AntwortenCommunity fix to the problem: go to the reef and dance by variks If it becomes popular enough it could work Spread the word!!

5 AntwortenI agree they should implement it, but your post is the downfall of this community... Bungie has and is listening to us. They've already done so much that we've all asked for but there's always people that are never happy (You). Matchmaking is literally a bottom of the list issue. There are plenty of alternative ways to find a team, but the whole point of ToO and higher level PoE is about teamwork, not getting pared with 2 retards

42 Antworten
I have yet to see a cogent argument against optional matchmaking, yet every day many people present well-articulated arguments for it. Optional matchmaking would enhance the experience of thousands of players every day, and would negatively affect none.
I simply love how political you made that sound. Our way is right, the other way can't possibly be right. You should really go into politics for whatever country you reside in. You would do great. Optional matchmaking has three downsides to it: #1. It takes away from the experience of forming your own team by presenting an additional option which, 9/10 times, people would rather utilize for the "simplicity" of it. I get that most people have always strived for simplicity where they can enjoy the experience they want, but coming from the same generation I actually value integrity over simplicity. Integrity in the sense of forcing people to form a team rather then give them an option which can be found in crucible, Tower/Reef in the sense of finding teammates for an activity, any of the strikes, weekly heroic challenge, and lead to people plugging in their mics to not only discuss things but also to find people who are willing to do such tasks. #2. The loss of quality found in any kind of matchmaking. Raids, nightfalls, higher levels of PoE are the endgame activities content. I do not want to have to trust a very limited radar when doing those things ideally speaking. Matchmaking OF ANY KIND reduces the possibility of finding people who communicate and furthermore, want to do well. In the first months since Vault of Glass was opened, I have left three times as many raid groups NOT because the communication was bad, but because the people involved in them did things which caused the entire group to wipe out, lose our footing on the map area, and/or ran around the map to troll the group when they were asked to do another task they didn't want to do. Simple enough way to put it? Individuals made it a point to be selfish. That IS present and we do not hold ANY power over changing people on a video game of all things. Adding ANY kind of matchmaking dilutes and takes away the quality of the experience. It NEVER adds anything besides an easy button. I don't care for easy. I want quality. The highest possible at all times. Those raid groups? I wasn't the only to simply say, "We have two more tries at this. After that I'm calling the group." and two more tries later? The group failed again. It is not difficult in a raid. If no one ever dies... it is near impossible to actually lose. Even if the boss enrages... even if we can't get the portals open in time... if no one EVER dies... Crota cannot summon his oversoul. You would be surprised how many people fail to understand that basic concept even when you force them to go onto bungie.net, into the recruitment section, make a post and gather a team for a run and yet how many people still manage to mess that up? #3. Optional matchmaking has the word matchmaking in it. As most of this post highlights? Perfection is not necessary for fun, but people want different things which no matchmaking system has EVER incorporated. It takes up too much memory space on the console systems and even on the PC side of things? People want to find the better quality as time goes on. Using different systematic tools to help gather people for activities or events is the best thing overall. Rather then matchmaking which finds random teams all over the place we need statistics. Statistics is not found in matchmaking, optional or not, and it does not help to get the better teammates together. Simple enough reality is every player needs to be in control of their experience. Not being just given an option. To see how many VoG, CE, nightfalls, ect. someone has done only improves that quality and before anyone goes down the road that newer players won't get a chance at that then remember this: It is always about, and continues to be, who you know rather then what you know. A lesson you should learn since most countries operate on that foundation. This is a team based game and most of the "social" players don't exist on it. Like Destinylfg.com has shown and the Sherpa's after that and the community focus groups each week have shown: Players are only social when they want to be. You want optional matchmaking? You will burn out more players because you used up space which could have been used to satisfy more people and earn their hatred instead of respect. Here's another possible solution which I've seen outside of bungie.net: Job boards. No. Not posting boards. Job boards. A Guardian goes in and see's his/her WEEKLY Titan/hunter/warlock challenges for the various endgame content only. Complete those? You get access to the backside of that which is the statistics board. This board shows you the necessary statistics of other players. You must search for the player though. No global rankings, no preferred/liked/star players to boost their ego, and a small comment to show what you are about. Want to say your a sherpa? Say it there. Want to say, "Had bad teammates in the past VoG runs"? Say that too. Simple enough reality is you CANNOT deny that optional matchmaking is not innovating to get more quality in the game. It is an extension. Nothing more. I want matchmaking out of the game besides crucible and to utilize that system above which is 100 times better any way you try and intellectually look at it. Then you will see the players success/failure ratios. If you want to have a fun and relaxed time? Go play with said player. If you want to blow through the raid flawless raider style? Go play with the other player. You are then in control of what you go into.

6 AntwortenI love how people get on the forums to complain about having to get on the forums to find people. If it's good enough to rant on, then it's good enough to find a team on. Stop complaining and start shooting.

5 Antwortenjust stop

As long as it's optional and if you go into it and can choose to disallow match made players to join in fine But I'm already po'd getting all these AFK players in Poe 28 I always bring my fire team.
-
7 AntwortenSomeone's a hater. Why don't you go back to playing CoD?
-
Lmfao if you think Bungie cares about anything here that you have to say. Or even reads it for that matter...
-
6 AntwortenIt depends on how you like to play. I personally think this is a neat idea, but, it would require a bunch of coding, and how many people would choose solo? My guess is about 25-35%, don't get me wrong, that still is a big number, but is it really worth it? It's supposed to be a co-op arena, for you and your friends, or you and other players.

3 AntwortenWouldn't matchmaking for ToO make it easier for full fireteams to get their wins?

Agreed optional match making would be very beneficial.just don't make it necessary, idc but I can see a lot of back lash for it
-
1 AntwortenIt's always baffled me that I can attempt a Nightfall designated Strike solo, BUT if I just want to relax and beat up on Sepikus solo, or any other in game Strike boss, I am FORCED into matchmaking, for a level 8 Strike! Come on Bungie, at least give us the OPTION to solo the non Nightfall Strikes!

2 AntwortenMore vault space is a common thread. More common than optional matchmaking IMO.

1 AntwortenOptional is where it's at. Why not? Everyones happy.

I vote for optional match making
