I agree to an extent, but shaders should still be rare. Your character's color scheme doesn't really make you look different if you still have the same exact armor everyone else.

That's true, but with more armor on the way, and ascending becoming a thing, we won't expect players to look the same anymore. Rotating Tower Vendor stock has been added to the community wishlist so we can hope it gets implemented. If so, then all the old gear will make a return over time.
