Another Brilliant Decision By Bungie
So I've heard that rather than releasing House of Wolves at weekly reset time, it'll be roughly seven or so hours after reset (like Iron Banner did last time for the first time ever).
May I ask why? It's just stupid. There's no reason to do so..
So now, come reset, everyone is going to have to hold off and not play. You can't do your Nightfalls at reset because they'll have a chance to drop Etheric Light & the new Exotics seven hours afterwards and the players don't want to miss out on that.
Can't do VoG or Crota because the chest/wizards won't drop the new Exotics until seven hours after the weekly reset.
I guess this confirms the weekly nightfall won't be the DLC strike then, unless (and this does seem like something bungie will do) Bungie do make the nightfall for the week the Shadow Prince strike or whatever it's called and keep it locked for seven hours.
I mean, what is the point in this?
I get that maaaaybe you're doing it to better cater for America by releasing it at 10am LA time but that's just pointless? They'd still be able to play it at that time if you released it seven hours earlier at reset? Plus you're not going to make it reset seven hours later every week onwards are you so for the first week of House of Wolves we'll just have seven hours less to do everything for no reason whatsoever?
If you were pushing the reset time in general back seven hours every week (even daily resets) I MIGHT understand but there really is no need for this, nor is there any reason or logic behind it.
Every time there's some good news about this game it gets ruined by bad news such as this..

The drop time is the MOST inconvenient time for me possible.. HOWEVER; - bungie are US based and want to be in the office when it is released so if things go pear shaped they can be on hand. Fair enough. Crap for me. Good for the USofA. - bungie has confirmed apparently that VoG and Crota won't be dropping HoW exotics so feel free to raid but hold your nightfalls. In my opinion. VERY irritating but ultimately, not the end of the world.

Maybe it's so when HoW is initiated the developers are at work when it goes live. So if something goes wrong they can do something about it.

Yeah pretty annoying to be fair, was hoping to play this as soon as I got home from college, which is like 12am, shame im gonna have to wait 7 hours...smh

It's really a matter of making sure everything goes accordingly and no mishaps. If they release it at reset, being that it's more content then "The Dark Below", there's more that could go wrong and they want to make sure people are at work if something does happen. It's not an expansion so it's not like they're going to pay employees to come in at night so it can release at 2am and it's no different then, example "World of Warcraft" when they release any major content patches. As mentioned, "WoW" maintenance lasts from 6am-2pm eastern every time so it's the same concept and at least in Deatiny we can still play without any downtime to finish any last minute preparations (like getting your factions close, bounties ready for turn in, farming materials, knocking that stupid purple ball off the tower for hours to release any remaining frustrations as to why in the world that much effort was put into that stupid thing, etc.) so I'd prefer a stable release, hopefully.

Chill out...you will be able to play it later that day or the next day...it won't go anywhere or it won't be the end of the world. Heaven forbid they want to push a patch when their employees will be at work so they can handle any technical issues. I mean that's just silly. Get a life, deal with it or don't, I really don't give a tin shit.

Well, you can't do weekly activities at all that day until after expac hits. So, you won't be waiting hours just to get new loot.

3 AntwortenI'm glad the reset will get set back. It normally resets at 4 AM where I live, and I can't afford to be awake at that time much less play anything. It sucks to get on hours after other people have begun to play and see them with new stuff.

So you can't even do NF (can't miss out on HoW rewards). 2. The NF (and weekly) will be the new strike, it's been confirmed by Megaman. This is probably the reason why they only are available when HoW starts. 3. Pre-HoW activities like raids won't drop new exotics, it's been as good as confirmed. I don't mind them delaying it at all. If it started at 11:00 Dutch time, all the free kids would have a head start. Now it starts at 19:00, so everybody can start at the same time.

Just the old exotics at the the new damage cap. The rest of your post is just whiny crap about not being able to play first thing on reset. Grow up little man, they're doing it for our benefit.

They probably want to release it when they're actually at work so they can fix any problems that come up. As opposed to releasing at midnight and hoping that everything goes smoothly.

1.Bungie did this so all of their employees are awake and in the offfice ready to fix and issues that are immediately apparent. 2.Old raids will [b][i][u]NOT[/u][/i][/b] drop HoW exotics, they will however drop 365 exotics

The number of times I've watched Europeans brag on the forums about something dropping early hours for them, and meanwhile it drops at a time most of us in america are at work and can't play till 5 pm, and now it drops later at an odd time for europeans and you're just now uber butthurt? Grow up, you win some you lose some.
