Hate to say it really do, at the risk of being hounded, called a noob, and any other sort of insult here it goes. I am a level 31 titan who has never run VOG or Crota. Lots of reasons mainly work schedule and family time make it difficult to have the time. Anyway that's my confession for the day. Just curious if there are any other Guardians out there with the same sad truth. May the light be with you.
First thank you to all of the people who shared experience and knowledge with me. Second got my first raid thanks to the Destiny LFG page. Ton of people suggested it, I gave it a shot and an hour later was killing crota. Vog is next take care all.

3 AntwortenI preordered and have been playing Destiny since release, but hadn't played the raids until recently. Originally I avoided it because of past negative experiences whilst using chat during multiplayer, and didn't find the idea of having to communicate with five other people to be an appealing prospect. I eventually decided to give it a try about 2 months ago, although I expected to be trash-talked and insulted, and perhaps even booted for being completely new to the raids. I expected people to have no patience for someone who had no idea what to do. I was blown away by how welcoming, patient and supportive my team mates were as we played and they showed me the ropes. I have been very pleasantly surprised by the raid community, and have been raiding weekly since then. If anyone has not raided for similar reasons, I would strongly recommend giving it a go. I recently wrote a post about it titled 'A Positive Community Tale'. In it I talk about how great I have found the community to be. I am hoping others will also add their own positive experiences with the Destiny community. I would like to show people although the forums contain many negative and immature comments and exchanges amongst the community, this is in no way an accurate portrayal of the community as a whole. Please check it out if you are interested. I am new to posting and commenting on the forums, so I don't know how to make a link from here, if that is even possible. If you search the title under 'forums' you should find it.

Well they over hype the raids IMHO Watch a few YouTube videos for titan play And join a group just post that you are new Worst times are tues/we'd as the restart Happened and everyone is trying to run their 3rd character Best is on weekends as most people have run and it came be hard to find people

Don't sweat it man. I didn't do VoG for quite a while after release due to my own circumstances but once I did it was the most fun I've had playing video games in a long time. If you ever do get around to it I hope you edit this post and talk about your experience. Good day guardian.

3 AntwortenJust from the title, I expected this to be a summarization of my last night in the Crucible.... It was not.
-
Done bits of both raids...never finished them, not really bothered about it.
-
7 AntwortenLooks like you've been Raiding ;)

I have a 32 warlock and a 31 titan, I haven't done the vog at all apart from atheon

I was intimidated by raids at first. But once I started I just totally got hooked. Find a group on destinylfg.net or destinylfg.com, hook up a mic, and just let them know that you're new at it but will listen and learn. Most groups don't mind helping someone new learn the fights if you're just polite and follow directions. I've been running VoG since late December and CE since about the beginning of April and I already have every weapon from both raids minus Necrochasm. Just dive in man, it's a blast.

I used to have 1 completion last month. Now I got 15, anything is possible.
-
I've been daily playing since beta and have yet to do either of the raids. You are not alone, in fact the vast majority of destiny players haven't got a single raid completion (check trophy percentages).
-
I was really late to the raids. Only got my Titan to 32 recently.
-
Well I got kicked outta my house .-. Now I'm in the middle of nowhere! W/ no wifi at my place so no psn. Pretty boring out here in the rez .-.

1 AntwortenI haven't had time either. I only get an hour or so here and there so haven't had chance to try them out. I don't want to join group and have to leave if something happens on my end. All I do is bounties and the occasional crucible match.
-
I'm level 31 hunter with 2 vog completions, no Crota. Never have enough time in one sitting anymore
-
I avoided raid for the first 3 months. I'm not always able to use my mic & I had very few friends that played Destiny. at some point in January, a friend of mine invited me to Crotas End & I was hooked on raiding. I went through VoG 29 times until I had all the Hunter armor & raid weapons. after that I've been focused on CE & I'm only missing 1 weapon and a ship. i understand time constraints, because I have a pretty full "life," but CE will take up to 30 - 45 minutes. the recruitment forums are great for finding groups for fresh starts or check points. raiding has been my favorite part of the game & I still laugh at myself for missing out on VoG in it's prime. since you're only using 1 character, you could easily run both raids every week.
-
5 AntwortenMy buddy and I run Crota alone every week and it doesn't take long at all. If you want you can run it with us anytime. We are a couple of middle aged dads and aren't the judgemental types. Send me a request of you want. We could help you through VoG too.. Just takes a couple more people.

I dont run raids often I have run pieces of crota enough to get to 32 but have never actually finished the raid, and have only run VOG twice.

1 AntwortenWhat console are you on?
-
5 AntwortenI was like you until I finally went on lfg. Changed the way I play this game

1 AntwortenThat is not embarrassing. You have a life, be proud. That life provides you time and a means to play while supporting yourself and a family. I will run with you anytime and bring 4 buddies. Shoot me your system name if interested.
