Ugh I hate religion!!!!!!! Religion is just someone peer pressuring you into believing something. Religion puts words in your mouth, only there not your words. Religion has started so much hatred, bias, conflict, and wars. Gays aren't the problem and neither are homophobes. Religion is.

I agree, but you have to think about the time period that the crusades happened in. I mean people didn't really know how to negotiate and compromise like we do today. To be honest I'm not surprised events like the inquisition and the crusades happened.

Religion is.[/quote] There is so much wrong with this statement. First of all, yes, religion has started many wars because it's what people believe in. Atheism would have started just as many conflicts of it had been around longer. For example, most racism against Africans during New Imperialization, how they were inferior and such, came about due to social Darwinism. And did you know that these imperialized nations are much of the 'problems' we have today? (I don't want to say problems, but a better term is escaping me at the moment.) For example, the Middle East was imperialized and this forced many rival ethnic groups to be put together. Same thing with most of Africa, which is currently composed of mostly 3rd-world countries.

It's just my opinion on religion
-
Nobody told me to be religious...
-
Wait. You say Christians use peer pressure to get you to believe their religion. Last I checked Christians get ridiculed and hated on. Atheists peer pressure is why Christians leave their faith in high school/ college.
-
No. They leave because they smarten up.
-
What I'm saying is that Christians that go to church ever since they we're born have been peer pressured into a religion.
-
Wrong. It's a choice to continue being a Christian. They may be forced to go to church as a child. But life choices aren't that important at a young age. After you move out of your parents house and become an adult you are free to make choices, like not being a Christian. I am raised in a family where skipping church is not an option, and that's ok because I know I will be able to change that IF I want to when I leave the house. I am also around lots of atheists because I play sports for a public school. I don't change the way I act, most of them know I'm a Christian, if I didn't like going to church or didn't believe in God then I probably would act differently. Swear, be jerks ect. (Excuse stereotyping please for the sake of my argument.)

Maybe atheism corrupting the world is the problem
-
First off I'm not just targeting Christianity. Also 1.88% of atheists ( from this poll ) are against gays.

I'm a Christain & don't give a shit.
-
By being Christian you're already an atheist to hundreds of other gods. Just let go of this last one.
-
Nah i'm good

Bearbeitet von Face Mcshooty: 5/9/2015 10:34:23 PMMay I ask why? If it's because of Pascal's wager then you should know that it only works in a true dichotomy.
-
Because I believe in him. Why else?
-
But what make him different than the other gods you're atheist to? People in ancient days believed in Zeus so did that make him the cause of all lightning? No.
