Saving legendary engrams and rep packages for DLC
So I've been hoarding in several ways for a couple weeks for the arrival of house of wolves. I just want to know if anyone out there is taking similar procedures going into dlc arrival time or am I the only one being insane hah.
First when the dlc drops I plan on having as many as possible reputation factions upgradable with either a simple patrol or bounty. And I'm talking cryptarch, vanguard, crucible, dead orbit, future war cult and new monarchy. I should have at least 10-15 easy packages ready to get the day it drops after a couple bounties or patrol missions.
I currently have 8 packages waiting on my main Warlock character. I know I won't receive new dlc weapons but that's not why I'm doing it, each package upgrades your reputation a little and crypt packages have a decent chance of giving you legendary engrams. Also I'm hoping to finally receive a faction shader or ship.
I have also been hoarding all of my legendary engrams in my vault. When the dlc drops these will easily level up my crypt a couple levels I have 7 armor engrams 1 class item and 10 weapon engrams waiting. Plus all the extra legendary engrams I might receive with my crypt packages already stocked up.
Saving up exotic shards. I have every exotic and every VoG and Crota weapon in the game, but I still do the raids for the exotic chance so I can have more exotic shards. When we upgrade exotics to 365 attack or 42 light for armor, I'm going to ready although it appears it costs a fair amount of GLIMMER to do so.
Which is why I'm going to get max glimmer. And I have been saving up all my Network Keys, House Banners, Axiomic Beads and the hive one... In my vault, I currently have 22,000 glimmer worth of consumables.
Saving motes of light and strange coins. I imagine Xur will be selling some new exotic the first week he's here. And we need motes for trials of osiris tickets and new dlc weapons reforging I believe. After spending 26 motes on getting a baller void pve efrideets spear this week from iron banner I still have 180 to play with and somewhere over 200 strange coins.
When the day finally arrives I'm going to be opening around 20 something packages. And 20 something legendary engrams. It's going to be crazy!!! Closing in on 1,400 hours of gameplay.

1 AntwortenEngrams won't decrypt into dlc items. They are determined when they drop. Packages are the only way you would get new things

3 AntwortenI've actually been saving for a couple months, got about 40 legendary engrams, 4 exotic engrams, about 35 vanguarrd packages, 15 cryptarch packages, 25 public event packages across three characters I know none of the gear I get from the packages will be HoW gear but with 40 legendary engrams I will be able to level up my cryptarch, same goes for vanguard packages Also leveled up all factions to just below level 3 so I'll be able to level up all three factions on the first day

Surely you're better off opening the packages now as the commendations you get will be worth 250rep each, after the patch they will no longer be given out.

Bearbeitet von NateOrb: 5/8/2015 6:51:34 AMIve got like 59 commendations, 20ish DO packages, 8ish cryptarch packages, all characters are close to a cryptarch rank, and I have a bunch of engrams(like 12 legendary the rest rare) In the last week before the dlc Im gonna get characters close to a dead orbit rank with a full inventory of bounties(because theres still a set of nightfalls and weekly heroics between now and the dlc) Since faction packages are generated when you get them will they still come with a commendation? I havent heard anyone say but I hope they do because then that will be 375 rep per package(125 for claiming 250 for commendation) At launch Ill do the cryptarch stuff first then all the other stuff for xp to upgrade any new items I get

9 AntwortenI have 70000 glimmer in my vault max glimmer on my character and 500 strange coins 200 motes... spent 130 on ib last week... i also have 130 commendations

Don't forget that vanguard and crucible commendations give you 100 rep to those factions (I imagine it comes under effect of your class item)

1 AntwortenJust saying what I heard don't shoot me. I heard you would not be able to use the current engrams and packages for HoW gear. It will only turn into TDB gear.

I've been saving packages for over a month, I've had to open some on my hunter cuz I ran out of room at the postmaster lol

3 AntwortenI've just stopped upgrading rep getting them within 100-300 to leave breathing room. Sometimes I forget to change out class items and get a lil rep. I have DO ready on all chars NM almost ready on one will be on another by then. Possibly on the third too. Vg on all Crucible on one or two. Neglected FWC so far. I just started last week so haven't made it to everything. Not worrying with crypt arch. Spamming the new strike list will ensure that he gets attention! Plus not much room to store engrams to stop lvling him. Feels like no matter what we do they will cock block us with new currencies and new rep to gain only to remove them next round. Don't think it makes too much difference what we do really.

Best thing you can do is to get your ranks close to leveling, then push them over after HoW is released. THOSE new Mail Packages have a shot at HoW gear. But those engrams will be great for leveling the Cryptarch. So, I'm hoarding a bunch as well.

I currently have 40+ legendary engrams, above that i got 35 cryparch packages waiting at the postmaster

1 AntwortenIt'll be sweet! You'll be finished with HoW in a week! Why waste time grinding the new content when you already grinded the old stuff to bits to save you having to play the new stuff! It'll be way more fun to play when you already have all the loot! ;D

2 Antwortensorry but all ideas are grea except the legendary engrams you are wasting space by saving those..i have 4 of each faction ready to level up on that day. also been grinding to do the exotic bounties for the shards so that I canlevel up my exotic gear on day 1 . gear first for me then weapons. I would rather be 34 with 331 weapons then be 32 with 365 weapons..

2 AntwortenAny engrams gained before the dlc will decode into pre dlc stuff. Pretty sure crypt packages are the same.
