Would you like to see Microtransactions in Destiny?
READ THIS BEFORE YOU VOTE:
Microtransactions are content sold for money; Similar to DLC, except it won't cost $19.99 USD. Call of Duty does this with Gun Skins, Character Skins, Emblems and Titles. We all love playing Destiny, and want to see it grow and improve! Microtransactions will allow Bungie to receive more money which can be used to hire more employees, get content out faster, quicker bug fixes, and more. Microtransactions do not harm the game, they do not cause an imbalance, or give an edge to other players. All cosmetics purchased from microtransactions are separate from the actual game, this means you won't be able to purchase shaders and other things that are already in the game.No player is forced to purchase anything, this is solely to support the developers.

Most of you already know that Activision has a contract with Bungie. $500,000,000.00 USD (500 Million) has been allocated to Bungie for the production of Destiny. Destiny will be given a lifespan of 10 years. That is $50,000,000.00 USD (50 Million) used every year; Bungie has 500+ Employees. Don't let this number fool you, if you do the math you would think that every employee is making $100,000.00 USD (100K) per year's salary...This is not true. I would like to inform you that Bungie has many expenses, Some of which include: Employees, Software used to create Destiny, Servers for Destiny on all platforms (Ps3, PS4, XB360, XB1), Office Expenses (Lease/Rent/Maintenance/Etc...), Computers, Hardware, and so much more. Before coming to the conclusion that Bungie is a cash cow understand that Bungie is a Business. They have to pay their employees (No... They don't make 100K Salaries), and they have to pay for many other things.
Bungie is running on a budget of 50 Million a year. This is a game that was created from the ground up; It did not use a previous engine, like other titles such as Call of Duty and Halo. Other companies would have an engine, then improve it for the following release, thus dramatically reducing time and cost. Destiny took 7 years to create from the ground up. I believe they did an excellent job, and even though the employees don't make 6 figure salaries, they continue to work hard for gamers like you and me to enjoy the world of Destiny. Just so you're aware, Bungie has to return the $500,000,000.00 USD (500 Million) that Activision gave them to develop Destiny. Yes, Bungie made that money back in sales. But that money is going to Activision. This lowers the overall number for Bungie.
With all that said, Microtransactions will allow Bungie to receive more income. Microtransactions are harmless, mostly cosmetic, and holds NO IMPACT on gameplay. This money can be used to create new content, keep things updated and fresh, Maintain a smooth gameplay, and keep 500+ employees and their families with a stable job.
I Support Destiny Microtransactions. I urge all of you who have read the preceding, to leave some feedback and show your support for the amazing team at Bungie!

TL;DR
Bungie Employees put a lot of hard work and dedication to this game. Believe it or not, employees don't get paid as much as you think. Bungie does not make as much as you think (More specific in thread), Microtransactions DO NOT impact the gameplay at all (Mostly Cosmetic). If Bungie has more income, that is more content for you.
1 Antwortenf it is completely optional and they don't shove it in our faces, why not let the idiots empty out their wallets on a weapon camo?

Bearbeitet von scharkfin: 5/6/2015 5:47:30 AMIf it only was for cosmetic things. I'd pay $3 for a ghost shell, or $2 for a custom shader, but not much else. If they took it too far then I would be disappointed- but knowing Activi$ion, they'd try to take it too far. I really wouldn't want anything part $5 either. Its pushing for players with less money then.

Please charge me more for the same shit!

1 AntwortenI see where you are coming from but I don't like having content blocked by a cost barrier. Yes I have the DLC but that is actually worth the money. It's extra playable content.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von abelsinh: 5/6/2015 4:23:10 AMNo. There are so many things wrong with this that I can't even start to explain. Those of you who support microtransactions should probably stick to mobile "gaming".

The microtransactions are just another way of billing players more for already developped content, just like "fake" Dlcs. In the mobile gaming apps business model it can be tolerated because your game has virtually no chance of taking off if it cannot compete with free good games. In the older, traditional VG industry it's different. Content you previously paid for when buying the disc is now taken away. Take a look at mortal kombat fatalities for example. I read your paragraph about your attempt to justify microtransactions and I simply do not agree.

Micro-transactions would ruin this game and make it terrible... So no Micro-transactions would be a stupid idea thank god Bungie knows this...
-
Only if I could buy weapons. I have no use for ships, as I'm not going to spend any money on a loading screen. Sparrows are a moot point since the Tumbler is fun as hell and no other sparrow lets me do tricks. Shaders, also, are irrelevant to me since all I wear is Thunderdevil or Sunsetting. Only thing that'd I'd like to spend money on is to utterly bypass the game's retarded-as-f*** loot system.

Everyone wants better game but doesnt want to pay for it. I however, am completetely FOR micro-transactions. #bungietakemymoney

Read it. Would rather donate for those to not be added to the game...

CoD do this with Weapons and maps

4 AntwortenMicro transactions are gaming cancer and shouldn't even be considered remotely. Please get that out of here.

Nope. Just nope.

3 AntwortenIf they ever added microtransactions, bungie would lose a lot of their playerbase. Microtransactions ruin games

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von The Loathsome Dung Eater: 5/6/2015 3:05:36 AMI'm against all micro transactions in full retail games. What you didn't account for is the amount of cash that hey made from game sales. 60 bucks a pop, 35 for the expansion packs, and whatever comet ends up costing (probably more than 20 bucks for what is going to be released) will be profit for just the first year of release. I'm assuming they sold millions of copies of the base game, and a lesser degree of the expansion. 60 millions bucks for each million copies sold. They are in good shape I'm sure. He one way I would soften up on this stance would be if you could earn all the cosmetic stuff without cash. I don't mind working toward a goal, but to make something I have to buy to get in a full retail game just doesn't sit well with me.
-
Who voted yes? Micro transactions are stupid!
-
-
They don't need micro transactions. They already cut content from the game to release as dlc to make more money. This is slowly becoming the norm unfortunately. For anyone who had or hasn't played mortal kombat 10 there are characters you fight in story mode you cannot unlock yet and even yet to be released dlc characters have built in loading screens featuring them. How looks to be a real expansion but TDB all they really did was hire someone to voice eris. They sold us the base game at 80 dollars. While I like the idea of new content I think this would be a step in the wrong direction
-
You sir are fing retarded thinking that would be good for a game....they destroy games....the bring out the real greed...any game with micro transactions I never bother playing.....micro transactions are for people who have a stupid amount of money and feel like they don't need to be good or put any time into a game and expect to have the best of everything.....the game will sell the best armor/guns then a week later come out with the new best armor/guns....so once again you sir are fing retarded to think this in any way would benefit a true gamer....it is not our responsibility for how they allocate their budget....if they can't make a good game on 50 million$ a year then may b they should pick a new line of work cuz I have played amazing games where they spent may b 10% of that....so for the last time sir you are F-ING RETARDED!!!

Valid argument, but still a strong no
