Would you like to see Microtransactions in Destiny?
READ THIS BEFORE YOU VOTE:
Microtransactions are content sold for money; Similar to DLC, except it won't cost $19.99 USD. Call of Duty does this with Gun Skins, Character Skins, Emblems and Titles. We all love playing Destiny, and want to see it grow and improve! Microtransactions will allow Bungie to receive more money which can be used to hire more employees, get content out faster, quicker bug fixes, and more. Microtransactions do not harm the game, they do not cause an imbalance, or give an edge to other players. All cosmetics purchased from microtransactions are separate from the actual game, this means you won't be able to purchase shaders and other things that are already in the game.No player is forced to purchase anything, this is solely to support the developers.

Most of you already know that Activision has a contract with Bungie. $500,000,000.00 USD (500 Million) has been allocated to Bungie for the production of Destiny. Destiny will be given a lifespan of 10 years. That is $50,000,000.00 USD (50 Million) used every year; Bungie has 500+ Employees. Don't let this number fool you, if you do the math you would think that every employee is making $100,000.00 USD (100K) per year's salary...This is not true. I would like to inform you that Bungie has many expenses, Some of which include: Employees, Software used to create Destiny, Servers for Destiny on all platforms (Ps3, PS4, XB360, XB1), Office Expenses (Lease/Rent/Maintenance/Etc...), Computers, Hardware, and so much more. Before coming to the conclusion that Bungie is a cash cow understand that Bungie is a Business. They have to pay their employees (No... They don't make 100K Salaries), and they have to pay for many other things.
Bungie is running on a budget of 50 Million a year. This is a game that was created from the ground up; It did not use a previous engine, like other titles such as Call of Duty and Halo. Other companies would have an engine, then improve it for the following release, thus dramatically reducing time and cost. Destiny took 7 years to create from the ground up. I believe they did an excellent job, and even though the employees don't make 6 figure salaries, they continue to work hard for gamers like you and me to enjoy the world of Destiny. Just so you're aware, Bungie has to return the $500,000,000.00 USD (500 Million) that Activision gave them to develop Destiny. Yes, Bungie made that money back in sales. But that money is going to Activision. This lowers the overall number for Bungie.
With all that said, Microtransactions will allow Bungie to receive more income. Microtransactions are harmless, mostly cosmetic, and holds NO IMPACT on gameplay. This money can be used to create new content, keep things updated and fresh, Maintain a smooth gameplay, and keep 500+ employees and their families with a stable job.
I Support Destiny Microtransactions. I urge all of you who have read the preceding, to leave some feedback and show your support for the amazing team at Bungie!

TL;DR
Bungie Employees put a lot of hard work and dedication to this game. Believe it or not, employees don't get paid as much as you think. Bungie does not make as much as you think (More specific in thread), Microtransactions DO NOT impact the gameplay at all (Mostly Cosmetic). If Bungie has more income, that is more content for you.
1 AntwortenAs a business it sounds like a smart move to add microtransactions if the customer believes they have value. I don't have specific numbers from other games that employ this tactic but it seems successful and customers seem willing to buy. As a Destiny gamer I personally don't have a problem with it. However, asking the community on their approval for the addition of these microtransactions lacks confidence and frankly sounds like begging. A smart and confident company will take this action and let the customers decide with their wallets. I used to really enjoy this game but unfortunately it is lacking something and I am not sure what it is. It might be that the heart of the game - the employees who designed and continue to maintain the game - need an injection of fun and a belief in themselves. If this happens I believe the money and profits will follow. Good luck.

For purely aesthetic things? I fully support this decision, especially cause the items are unique, as in you can't buy currently existing items.
-
4 AntwortenI'm not going to shell out money until bungee probes o me they can put out content that I don't finish in less than a week...
-
5 AntwortenI didnt read a thing and i voted anyway all hail democracy
-
No, go die with your idiotic idea.
-
2 AntwortenThis would make items feel less rare. Quite simply no. Why do I feel this is a Bungie employee polling us
-
I didn't read it because was too long.
-
Because then the ships you can get without paying will suck so players will want to buy them. Every vanilla shader will be cytherian bloom. Have fun with Eva Levante, now with even less stock.
-
If its just cosmetic items and skins then why not? But if it sells items that separates the non buyers then, no.
-
I would be wary of this - my fear is that most of the profit would simply go to Activision.

2 AntwortenAll I have to say is LOL at the belief that microtransactions would get content out quicker. All they would be is pure profit for activision.

6 AntwortenI'd prefer an optional monthly subscription over micro transactions any day. A $5-$10 optional premium service would allow funds for continued development without nickel and diming the Destiny community. Benefits are tied to the account and may include: -glimmer cap increase -mark cap increase -small gain buff -small loot buff -veteran rewards for prolonged subscription -monthly drawings for gifts -1 extra bounty per faction -option to redo one of the 2 raids per account Like I dunno, I'd definitely take that over micro transactions in a heartbeat
-
Don't know why you even considered posting this. Tempting fate
-
Absolutely not. No. Never.
-
Gtfo with this!!!! We don't need micro transactions anywhere!!!!! No micro transactions where in Zelda Super Mario Dinkey Kong Supersmash Bros Kingdom Hearts Pokemon Red Version Tony Hawks Pro Skater GTA 1-S.A.
-
Don't need to read that wall of text to know that the correct answer is no.

Remember when developers made a game to, you know, make a great game? And gave new content for free as, you know, a thank you to all the people that bought it to support them in the first place? I've supported Bungie enough. I've given them 100$ already, the most I've ever paid for any game (and let's be honest, I've gotten more love and enjoyment out of a 15$ legend of Zelda game) If they seriously keep implementing new DLCs and Microtransactions I'll stop buying their games. Plain and simple.
-
For the love of god, please don't every support microtransactions.
-
Not just a no from me, but HELL no
-
NO MICROTRANSACTIONS. They are what kill games
-
MUST READ?! WOW SO AMAZING!
Microtransactions will allow Bungie to receive more money which can be used to hire more employees, get content out faster, quicker bug fixes, and more.
You're going to be terribly disappointed.

you know back in my day - games used to include extras like these, but for free - we used to call this type of stuff 'content' - but nowadays content is too expensive and one day we will run out - and thats when the wars will begin...
