4 AntwortenTalos the mighty! Talos the unerring! Talos the unassailable! To you we give praise! We are but maggots, writhing in the filth of our own corruption! While you have ascended from the dung of mortality, and now walk among the stars! But you were once man! Aye! And as man, you said, "Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter. I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you." Aye, love. Love! Even as man, great Talos cherished us. For he saw in us, in each of us, the future of Skyrim! The future of Tamriel! And there it is, friends! The ugly truth! We are the children of man! Talos is the true god of man! Ascended from flesh, to rule the realm of spirit! The very idea is inconceivable to our Elven overlords! Sharing the heavens with us? With man? Ha! They can barely tolerate our presence on earth! Today, they take away your faith. But what of tomorrow? Do the elves take your homes? Your businesses? Your children? Your very lives? And what does the Empire do? Nothing! Nay, worse than nothing! The Imperial machine enforces the will of the Thalmor! Against its own people! So rise up! Rise up, children of the Empire! Rise up, Stormcloaks! Embrace the word of mighty Talos, he who is both man and Divine! For we are the children of man! And we shall inherit both the heavens and the earth! And we, not the Elves or their toadies, will rule Skyrim! Forever! Terrible and powerful Talos! We, your unworthy servants, give praise! For only through your grace and benevolence may we truly reach enlightenment! And deserve our praise you do, for we are one! Ere you ascended and the Eight became Nine, you walked among us, great Talos, not as god, but as man! Trust in me, Whiterun! Trust in the words of Heimskr! For I am the chosen of Talos! I alone have been anointed by the Ninth to spread his holy word!

I've never minded watching trailers, but all your other points I would agree, they lessen the whole experience of buying games. Some of these old ways of buying games people can still do though. It's up to the individual. Some things I do are: -don't listen to anyone's review on the internet, people are idiots. I tend to avoid reviews altogether, and especially random peoples opinions. -never preorder, it just enables the game companies to put less effort into the game, and how is it helping the consumer in any way? -Don't buy digital games, if you can get them on disc. It seriously diminishes the experience of buying it in the store and opening it up. -I go to the store with an open mind, not looking for particular games, and actually browse the shelves and read the cases, and finally buy the games that I think look good, not the ones other people like. Our gaming society is crumbling because of the choices people make, if we want the experience the way it used to be, each individual can make it that way. Avoid the internet, live the way you used to. You won't be disappointed.

3 AntwortenThe good old days, where $60 meant you get te full game...a time without DLC.
-
2 AntwortenYa I miss those days when gaming company's took pride in the product. And when people didn't use words like scrub and spoke English. Everything is shitty now games, movies, music.
-
Those were the days, the gamble was real and the rewards were worth it :D

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von Uriyaal: 7/16/2015 11:39:28 AMSeems like no ones out to make a good product anymore. I can't even watch TV with the commercials every 5-6 minutes. It's ridiculous.
-
Or sit outside for hours in line when it dropped just so you could get it
-
And the people at the game store would say "oh, that's a good one" or "I recommend the wizard" or "oh, be sure to check out the multiplayer also"
-
Remember when they was no dlc ? Me neither :/
-
-
Those days were cool but I like today's games. I'm just more cautious about buying games
-
I miss opening up the game case and reading the manuals :(.

3 AntwortenI don't like to look through the nostalgia glasses very often. They tend to make me depressed.

Copying the 7 disks and photocopying the password generator. Peer review was all you needed. Good times.

I remember those days. Discovered some great JRPG's on the PS1 doing that.
-
6 AntwortenI remember reading the entire cover booklet in the car, learning the controls, enemies, weapons etc etc. I would read the while thing before i ever played it.
-
Yeah, thank goodness we have Fallout 4 ;)

1 AntwortenYes! I used to got to the game shop every weekend and tradr in the games i didnt like and buy as many as i could and try them all out. No idea what the games are voing to be like. Made it so much more fun! Games that nowadays you wouldnt buy because the reviews say you won't like it. Some of my favourite games were bought without any prior knowledge of it.
