...from hero to zero in one week. Last week’s announced changes made just about everybody happy & then you went ahead and revealed Trials of Osiris. You alienated a ton of PvE gamers by not allowing matchmaking for Raids and Nightfall’s, including me (hate me all you want for having never done a raid), & now you’re doing it to the PvP players. There’s absolutely no reason not to have matchmaking for Trials of Osiris, it’s just a standard elimination mode gamers have played a thousand times before. Can anybody here honestly say that they've never played an elimination type mode in Counter-Strike, Gears of War, Rainbow Six, COD, Socom, etc? All of those games (and many more) were able to successfully incorporate matchmaking, why not Destiny? Will you inevitably be put on some bad teams while facing off against skilled fireteams? Yes, but it should be our choice to do so as solo gamers. If Bungie really wants to create a closed off game mode for the best of the best, maybe they should listen to the players and finally add private matches for them to participate in.
I can’t help but think Trials of Osiris is just a lazy attempt by Bungie to artificially create more end game content by doing as little work as possible (let’s be honest, ToS is just skirmish without the ability to respawn), and they’re making us pay for it! Personally I was hoping for a PvP mode with random modifiers each week. For example, one week maybe its control where only solar weapons cause damage & there are one hit melee kills, another week it’s combined arms where only sniper rifles & vehicle kills count, maybe another week it's elimination (which should be a free mode considering the lack of game modes) where you only have one clip of ammo, etc. Then again Bungie would have had to actually put some work & thought into a new mode instead of just rehashing skirmish.
I know I never post on here, & inevitably people are going to tell me to quite complaining & go find a fireteam on LFG, but I just had to vent. While Destiny’s gunplay and loot system has been incredibly addicting, I can’t help but think Bungie keeps going out of their way to disappoint me. I really hope they don’t make the same mistake with Prison of Elders; otherwise the Destiny season pass will have officially been one of my all-time worst gaming purchases.
Opinions?

7 AntwortenFirst off in trials of Osiris, I'm not going to waste a quit/loss because I got matches with a shitty teammate. I also don't want to waste my time with shitty matchmade teams in raids. Get the -blam!- over it and go to recruiting. The opportunity is there, quit bitching.

I'm wondering what is PVE players will get?
-
16 AntwortenThis mode is meant to be challenging. Inagine how random it would be if there was a matchmaking... it would also brake the economy of the Osiris cos best groups would more often be gaining victories.

4 AntwortenI'm sorry in advance for not reading your post in its entirety. But I got the general idea of what you're saying. I have ZERO real life friends who play Destiny. Okay, so I know a couple guys I went to high school with who play and I've helped them out on a Crota Hard or Nightfall a couple times but that doesn't really count. As far as people who I'd consider friends who play this game, none. And I know I'm not the only one out there with this same situation. I'm assuming you can relate as you have a problem with no Matchmaking for end-game activities and you've never raided. That's why there's various LFGs. There's groups here on Bungie.net and websites designed for the sole purpose of matching players up. Another option is to join a clan or gaming community. Find one with good competitive players that won't make you change your Gamertag and attend a bunch of bullshit meetings and go to "Practice Sessions". Just a good group of people with a passion for Destiny. Problem solved. And now you know they'll probably be half way decent teammates and not random 12 year-olds.

DOWN WITH BUNGIE DOWN WITH BUNGIE

The game was meant to be played together with friends, hop on lfg. I've made plenty of good friends on there

Waaaaaaa Waaaaaaa Waaaaaaa Waaaaaaa Waaaaaaa

Bungie have screwed them selfs over they are going to alienate anyone whos not amazing at pvp by making them use the forums where it all gonna be about 2 or 3 kds
-
2 AntwortenTheir is plenty of reason not to have matchmaking, like if me and one friend want to run a strike by ourselves we can and don't have to have the last spot or spots filled in by a random we can't talk to. Sorry you feel alienated but i like it
-
Is that hard to find 2 more people on LFG? If you can't find them then you should quit playing destiny
-
Well its not alienating. You need communication and may want to build your team in a certain way. Its supposed to be more challenging and require communication. If you match made teams no one would use a mic or communicate really. I'd rather not see Trials matchmaking, its for the best.
-
You're right, what's wrong with options, with a team or not.... It should be open to all.
-
no matchmaking is bullsh!t , it forces you to waste time spamming forums instead of playing the damn game .... another crap decision

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Roman: 4/30/2015 8:48:39 AMagreed just another way for them to "create" more "endgame" I am disappointed as well PvP in this game is a Lackluster as it is and instead of making it more accessible and fun they are effectively alienating solo players for no reason

I've been saying the same thing in these forums for months and think adding matchmaking to the weekly heroic was a huge success. I've only completed s few raids for the same reasons you mention. Who designs and releases a game with off-game matchmaking setup, it makes no sense. Just add matchmaking for all game modes as an OPTION and be done with it or by this time next year there won't be anyone playing...

Bearbeitet von quicklight: 4/30/2015 9:06:28 AMI agree that there should be matchmaking option, but only if it's randoms vs. randoms. When you enter you should be able to choose matchmade (random), or fire teams (private). This would curb spawn-trap or sacrificial lamb like strategies, and also prevent the random team from getting the beat down from fire team. edit: It would also open the content to all consumers and not just a select crowd. With more players gaining experience, more would look to form or join teams later. Right now it doesn't even interest me. Maybe if I get bored in a few months, might be well into sports by then to even care looking to lfg in a game. Blah.

You're an idiot who doesn't know what she's talking about.

Weekly now has matching and almost everytime I do it there's is someone AFK for most or all of the strike. Seen countless AFK players in IB and normal crucible. NF, raids and ToO are suppose to be high tier end game content, I'm glad there's no matchmaking for them. What's worse spending 5-10 minutes finding a team of friends or people from LFG or failing raids/NF or losing ToO because you get an AFK kid some total noob?
-
1 AntwortenNo I pretty much agree with you. Iv seen this happen in other companies like CCP and THQ where a boneheaded lead thinks he is right and just ignores all evidence and feedback. But im mostly a pve player so as long prison of elders has matchmaking im happy. When ToO stops working due lack of players will simply say told ya so

Strikes Queens wrath Bounties Raids Normal crucible Iron banner Trials Prison of elders Starting to feel like there is substance

7 AntwortenRaids ,Osiris , nightfall should not be match made its for those people that have clans and friends. If you can t do these as match making its simple it's a share world exp game . GO GET SOME FRIENDS OR JOIN A CLAN. That is what bungee is encouraging if you don t want friend or clan members play something else. To many people in this game cry nerf or cry matchmaking really guys grow up and sort yourself out.
-
2 AntwortenIf you're mad now just wait until you spend that time trying to get a team only to get owned by a team using the bubble exploit.
-
I agree dude. Matchmade teams will have the advantage, but i see no reason at all to not have matchmaking. Matchmade teams have every bit of chance to succeed in pvp. This is not a rocket science mode bungie. I want to but HoW but don't alienate me
-
Agreed. Matchmaking should be there. Use it or take a premade, choice. I'd prefer not to hear constant wittering about an opponent's health or whatever. Commentaries from corpses shouldn't be a thing either, and no radar. Let scrubs like me play it casually, for fun.
-
Why are all these people bummed about no matchmaking for ToO? Do you not have 2 OTHER FRIENDS?? Just you and 2 more people..that's ALL it takes, are you really do alone?
-
1 AntwortenBearbeitet von RORYWAN13: 4/30/2015 10:14:27 AMCompletely agree. Great post. It's all just about artificially elongating endgame material. As little as possible for as long as possible. Keep them running the hamster wheel until we need them to buy the next chapter from us. That's why this PVP nonsense is vital to Bungie and Destiny. Whatever happened to saving the universe, this huge cinematic storyline? The adventure? Nope it's about dressing up like a dolly to run around a maze to shoot other kids dressed up like dollies. And the prize? Better clothes for your doll to make you feel better about yourself. It's a psychologists wet dream of a thesis. How to create an addictive game for humans that rewards like feeding mice in a lab.
