Old Destiny vs. New Destiny
Just want to know how many people wanted more of an epic space mmorpg. This would use more story, cinimatics (as it was originally intended) and be more akin to mass effect; or, if more people like the accessible, story deprived COD type gameplay that it is now.
The reason for this is because I heard that Bungie/Activision were originally afraid people wouldn't go for an epic space mmorpg similar to mass effect.
Let's show Bungie that we WANT a huge, space epic, mmorpg!
Edit: If anybody wants a taste of what the original Destiny could have been. Just take a look at the first gameplay reveal walkthrough on YouTube. It boasted things like an epic story, huge open world and teammates being dropped in directly from orbit wherever you were outside, by their own ships.
Edit #2: Did anybody else really feel the original story in the 2 Queens Reef missions? I remember feeling like: "Yeah, the game's finally getting good!" but then as soon as we finished with the queen I was thinking "WTF is going on?!?!" all over again.

Can't really say because we have mostly speculation on what the game was originally going to be like. I can say for the most part i'm satisfied with how it is now. The main problem being just not enough content. There are several things that I'd change if I could. But as it is I don't think destiny now is a bad way to start the universe.

4 AntwortenWe really don't need an MMORPG in a post apocalyptic world where humanity is on the brink of extinction. That doesn't really make sense. They dont even have the capability to handle that many players in one area. I don't want it to be Mass Effect-like. Mass Effect was unique and it needs to stay that way.

5 AntwortenThis game was going to be beautiful but of course some money hungry company goes out and cuts the original parts out and leaves the shoot everything game in it's place. There was originally even going to be a slightly different story depending on whether you picked human, exo, or awoken. Now we only have the beginning of the exo story and completely no story after mission one.

12 AntwortenThe reason why it's like COD is because of Activision firing most of Bungies story writers..so they had to take what was left, and Activision being the greedy people they are, they chop up the story into DLC so they can sell it to you, thus getting more money.
