Ever noticed here in the forums, that there are people who invalidate other's opinions by saying they don't go positive. People act like you can't really have a valid opinion about crucible without one. Well some people just aren't good at it, but that doesn't mean they can't tell that the felwinter's lie keeps killing them. It doesn't mean that they can't tell that TLW hits for 96 critical when you're aiming down sights. My point is that people can have an opinion, and it can be very valid despite being negative. So be kind.
Important edit: this topic isn't about TLW, if you bring it up I will ignore your comment, I'm tired of seeing people derail this topic with talk about TLW and how what I said about it was wrong. Move on or don't comment.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von ABDEL__1994: 4/28/2015 7:05:02 PMIt is kinda valid when they complain about getting killed by every other gun though. 'Felwinters lie is op' 'thorn is op' 'hawk moon is op' No. Any gun is op if you're good with it. How am I able to beat most of those players with my fang of ir yut, Hide And Seek and my LDR? Because I know how to play according to my style. I'm going to beat them guns at a distance so I stay at a distance picking their heads off. I'm either going to sit and wait for them to come if I think there's more than one of them with my shotgun or charge them if it's a solo kill to surprise them. You've gotta play tactically, not just see someone and shoot them complain your dead when you're at fault.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von IndigoRiot: 4/29/2015 5:12:38 AMI absolutely agree. But unfortunately a lot of people on these forums are children, or have very childish mindsets. You have a right to an opinion no matter what your 'kd' is and opinions are always 'valid' simply on the basis that they are yours and no one else's. For example, In my opinion, SGA is a great machine gun. I use it inside the vault as well as out and have a really good time doing so. Yes, I don't have Thunderlord, or Corrective measure, or any other 'better' machine gun - does that mean my opinion is invalid because I haven't used those other guns? Absolutely not. Let's take it into a real life context. I work in a school, and the children in my class are working on adjectives, superlatives etc. Some of them are finding it hard. They haven't even seen Shakespeare yet, so obviously their opinion is invalid. Absolutely not. It's ridiculous to even consider. Likewise in maths, god forbid I tell the child who is finding fractions difficult that their opinion is invalid because another child is flying through the work. Calling another persons opinion 'invalid' purely because they don't have 'X' is one of the heights of stupidity.

But it was wrong

Jesus thank you. My brother plays on my account so my k/d is complete doodoo.

I play to win the match, and try to avoid plain old deathmatch so I'm more into control when g do PvP (which isn't often). If I wanted deathmatch I'd play COD. I prefer something with an objective, and as such, that means sacrificing yourself sometimes so that it benefits your team. I value wins/losses far more than k/d. People who play on a team without a mic and only focus on getting kills rather than the objective should go play rumble.

10 AntwortenIts not that their opinion isn;t "valid" necessarily, its that they don't have the credentials to say something is OP. For example, If someone is complaining about Thorn being OP, and they have a .3 KD, im not going to take them seriously. Why? Because they don't win against MOST weapons they encounter. They simply don't have great gunskills to start off, which means they wouldn't know how to take out a thorn user in the first place. If someone has a 1.5 kd, and complains about thorn being op, thats a much more valued opinion in my mind, because here is someone who knows how to preform well in the crucible, and also has good gun skills. If there is a weapon that a good player can't win against, then there is something wrong with that gun when even the best players lose to it. Its not that their opinion isn't valid, per se, its more so that they haven't gotten to a point yet in which they have the skill and experience to back up their claims, or to prove that said weapon is in fact OP. Also, before anyone says anything, i am a true believer that nothing is OP in this game. I think TLW, Thorn, and Red Death are definitely the top tier weapons in crucible, but they aren't so tough that you lose to them every time if you have some skill. I run Mida 75% of the time in crucible, and i typically have no problems going up against these people using these weapons.

4 AntwortenSomeone's k/d is not a valid way to judge there opinion. My k/d sucks as I share an account with my 9 year old son who only played pvp . So before you base an opinion only on one stat know that there could be other factors.

If you go positive doesn't that mean you have AIDS?

There are plenty of options available to all so complaining about one or some is viewed by many of us as just whining. I am not that good, I would say I handle my own at best. I would rather keep plugging away in finding a counter if something is dominating me because I know there are en ough options and strategies to choose from. Otherwise I would feel I just don't belong and would not play pvp. It's not a requirement. People that complain are most often not good and won't be so why should they be able to water it down for the others that enjoy it as is.

this game eats a dick So ur shits weak

Doesn't matter what someone stats are wether it's kd, grimoire score or whatever kids use to boost egos. Because at the end of the day, it's just a game.
-
1 AntwortenDamn... I guess I'm gonna have to bring up my KD this iron banner so that I could talk shit about it...

1 AntwortenTLW actually hits for 111 ads.

4 AntwortenNot true at all because it's not like we have gimmicky bounties that force you to go out of your comfort zone, or terrible servers, or one shot weapons that people can spawn with. K/D is a completely reasonable way to tell if someone's opinion should be valued /sarcasm since some people have mental deficiencies in #destiny

1 AntwortenThis is a forum filled with trolls and immature kids. Don't come here expecting to have a serious conversation. Almost every thread when it comes to crucible will have people with 'git gud scrub' and other such highly original replies.

It's not even about having a positive K/D. It's any K/D they think is too low. I'm an astoundingly, unbelievably impressive .44 and I get dismissed all the time.

How do i check my KD i can only find them induvidually lol

5 AntwortenYou are literally saying half of the community does not matter then For every kill, there must be a death In a 1v1, player 1 gets 10 kills and 5 deaths and player 2 gets 5 kills and 10 deaths, then player 1 will have a 2.0 KD and player 2 will have a 0.5 KD The same principle applies both to Team v Team game modes and the leaderboard of every player ever Basically, about 1/2 of the community has a negative KD For you to say that half of the population has no say makes you Hitler Go -blam!- yourself
-
I can agree with that. I would be lying if I didn't contribute to a bias argument based on k/d though. But yes stating an observation shouldn't be stat dependent and it most definitely does not need stat validation.
-
Agree..a song as you aren't telling others how to play. Most of the people who I have called out were telling me what I should do when they quite obviously can't handle pvp themselves.
-
There's Godwin's law, and now there should be a new law. Pwn'd Law: on the b.net forums, any discussion (if it goes on long enough) will end up in the cry for the nerfing of a weapon. All in favor of this new law, feel free to bump.

For people to go +ve an (Essentially) equal number must be -ve. Both opinions are equally valid as both need to be encouraged to keep playing.

Bearbeitet von O_Town_Racer: 4/28/2015 3:16:35 PMI agree. Also I hate it when someone tries to tell me which weapon to use for Crucible because it works so great for them. I have tried many different weapons from my arsenal on many different maps. I know which ones work best for me in which situations.
