Let me break this down one more time. (And I admit "overrated" was not the right choice of word) I'm not saying its bad, I've been pretty clear since the first post that I'm sure it's good. But why? Why does everyone hold it to a higher standard then the other good raid weapons. What sets it apart.
What I wanted to say: Fatebringer is insanely popular, why?
What people saw:... Actually I'm still not sure what you all saw to go in so hard.
Tl;dr: Sell me on Fatebringer, why should I like it so much? Why does it have such a cult following?
That's it, everyday I see this gun get talked about like its the holy grail of destiny. No I don't have one, I stopped actively playing VoG for loot a long time ago. Still run it for fun.
Don't get me wrong, its a great gun. It itself has become legend. I just don't hold it at such a high concern.
Feel free to let me have it now, but that's what I think. Fang, Demise, Word, etc. Are all guns I hold to the same standard.
Edit: To clarify, I do want one. I still think its a beast. I just don't see the mass appeal. Some of you may be right and if I get one mayhaps I'll come back and edit this whole post.
Edit: Back to work folks. Will check back in later
Wow over 300 responses, though mostly negative I've never had a thread last so long

Fun to hit a group of thrall and watch them all explode, but that's not s enough to justify the hype. To me, outlaw is the better perk. As long as I reload after a precision kill, super fast reload. String that with firefly and you have a gun that really rewards precision shots/kills. The combo is great, but outlaw is the more important perk. And since outlaw can roll on any handcannon, I think the hype is a bit much. Don't get me wrong, it is a great weapon. The combo of perks and arc damage is nice. I still use it fairly often, but I use it when appropriate. Some people still use it way too often.
