Let me break this down one more time. (And I admit "overrated" was not the right choice of word) I'm not saying its bad, I've been pretty clear since the first post that I'm sure it's good. But why? Why does everyone hold it to a higher standard then the other good raid weapons. What sets it apart.
What I wanted to say: Fatebringer is insanely popular, why?
What people saw:... Actually I'm still not sure what you all saw to go in so hard.
Tl;dr: Sell me on Fatebringer, why should I like it so much? Why does it have such a cult following?
That's it, everyday I see this gun get talked about like its the holy grail of destiny. No I don't have one, I stopped actively playing VoG for loot a long time ago. Still run it for fun.
Don't get me wrong, its a great gun. It itself has become legend. I just don't hold it at such a high concern.
Feel free to let me have it now, but that's what I think. Fang, Demise, Word, etc. Are all guns I hold to the same standard.
Edit: To clarify, I do want one. I still think its a beast. I just don't see the mass appeal. Some of you may be right and if I get one mayhaps I'll come back and edit this whole post.
Edit: Back to work folks. Will check back in later
Wow over 300 responses, though mostly negative I've never had a thread last so long

For arc nightfalls Ya. I just got all legendary scout rifle with the fate bringer perks from a purple engram and I about freaked out I was so excited

1 AntwortenBefore the dlc it was very popular. If it was 331 attack I am sure it still would be.
-
I love it. I would love 2 more. Arc, Firefly, Outlaw and mag size are the primary reasons most people love it I think. Sounds and looks good too.
-
Rate of fire, firefly, precision shot reload perk. It's just perfect.
-
I just got one on Tuesday and all I can say is believe the hype lol
-
Fatebringer is still awesome. Period
-
Hard to judge something you don't have. Is it the best gun in the game? Of course not, but it's an awesome gun that's a lot of fun. Once you get it you will see why everyone loves it. Honestly I wasn't a hand cannon fan until I got one.
-
Hand cannons reward a skilled hand. A handcannon with the best set of perks available? It's a monster.
-
Have ya seen gjallahorn? This makes fatebringer look like pre dlc...oh wait
-
Yes, you are sorry

6 AntwortenPeople love firefly for some reason. It is great on thralls or some other enemies that group together closely, but it isn't the end-all-be-all of perks. Fun to hit a group of thrall and watch them all explode, but that's not s enough to justify the hype. To me, outlaw is the better perk. As long as I reload after a precision kill, super fast reload. String that with firefly and you have a gun that really rewards precision shots/kills. The combo is great, but outlaw is the more important perk. And since outlaw can roll on any handcannon, I think the hype is a bit much. Don't get me wrong, it is a great weapon. The combo of perks and arc damage is nice. I still use it fairly often, but I use it when appropriate. Some people still use it way too often.

2 AntwortenThe firefly perk is, in itself, pretty amazing for mobs. It seems especially potent on fatebringer for whatever reason, and completely decimates thrall, acolytes, dregs, vandals etc. im not sure why that is the case, but you will see for yourself when you try it :p. Outlaw pretty much removes one of the guns only weaknesses, and if you have arc burn its pretty much a must. I always take that for mobs, fang for anything yellow or at a distance.

It is overhyped but it is a really damn powerful weapon. I think a lot of people are just proud to own one. Arc burn with explosive rounds just shreds shields regardless of type. It has really great perks on it.

Fatebringer on nf thisweek I doubled my teammates kills. The firefly rekts

The reason you are probably getting stick for this post is because you yourself don't have the gun, so people will look on and suggest that you're not entitled to an opinion, that's all. For the crowd that do have it like myself, we can only advise you on first getting the gun. I promise once you acquire one, your view will change, I'm not saying you'll agree with the masses and hold it in high regard but you will at least see/ understand why people love it so much. I saw you asked someone to sell you the gun and explain why it's so good. Well, as we all know, Destiny is made up of many different gun options but not only that, each weapon can come with a different roll (perks). The perks of a gun can make it good or bad. You could have two of the exact same gun but one could be useless or not as affective as the next due to the perks. Now the Fatebringer has a set of perks (outlaw, firefly and explosive rounds) which work WELL together, making the gun fun to play with and keeps it able to stand alongside the new raid guns. I'm not totally sure but I think it was the first hand cannon which dealt elemental damage also. Right now that element is one we come across a lot while fighting the enemy...Fallen Captain's, Hive Knights, Omnigal.. So it's real useful.

I have the fatebringer and use it during arc burn nightfalls. But my red hand has so much more power it out weighs the perks of the fatebringer.
-
When the damage output max was 300 it was exceptional. High impact, high accuracy, high reload with crit hits and then the firefly perk!! Like others have said in an arc nightfall it was and still is an absolute wrecking ball!!
-
You can't judge a gun and give your opinion about it until you actually have it, and used it. So until you have it, then share your thoughts about it.
-
2 Antworten1. Use it on an arc burn nightfall/weekly. 2. Headshot an enemy. 3. Enjoy the fireworks. 4. Repeat step 2. That is why I love the FB. U can say that it does less damage compared to WoC but the WoC just doesnt have that fun factor. FB is just an amazing weapon and still very relevant even if its only a 300 weapon.
-
It's cool. Woc sucks. The last word is another dope hc.
-
I have fate and WoC. Didn't think I would really need fate until I got it.. It's a game changer, and I would use firefly over explosive rounds any day
-
It has firefly and outlaw which make it a beast. Also 12-13 rounds and it does Arc damage. For a 300 damage its still being used. I stopped using it once I got the fang of ir yut but that gun is one of my favorite guns in the game. I might take it out for a spin just for old times sake :] also if they ever let us upgrade the damage on it it'll be used as my staple once again. Hope you get one its a beast and hella fun to use.
-
I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain.
-
To me what makes Fatebringer is Firefly AND outlaw on a HC. You can pop quick kill because of the high impact and trigger chain boom booms, then reload really fast.
-
2 AntwortenYou are just trying to convince yourself that you arent missing out on anything, when its actually one of the best guns in the entire game. Once you own, you will understand.
-
I see your point. Good luck getting one. Once you do you'll see just how awesome it is. I've yet to use a hand cannon with any setup that reloads as quick as outlaw. Put together with firefly and arc damage? It's just fun. The abyss is cake with a team of these. Head shots all day. You conserve so much ammo with firefly. One shot 4-5 thrall. Melts captains shields on nightfall with or without arc burn. If you can get a 331 hc with the same roll I'd pick it up in a second.
