How to instantly tell when someone doesn't have Gally:
"Gjallarhorn isn't that great. I'd rather use another exotic."
EDIT 1: Stop saying it's situational. What gun isn't? I never said I use mine for everything. This post was for the kids who knock it before trying it.
EDIT 2: I never said Gally was required for Crota either. If you use a legendary, congratulations. You can successfully aim a rocket launcher and pull the trigger. I personally despise the people who "require" Gjallarhorn for Crota.
EDIT 3: 800+ Replies! Keep 'em coming. Feel free to tell me my OPINION is wrong as well. I've grown accustomed to it due to these forums.

You don't really need it. I would much rather have another exotic. [spoiler]Nah, who am I kidding? The Gjallarhorn is pretty f[i]u[/i]ckin cash. I usually only sub it for the Thorn or Hawkmoon.[/spoiler]

I don't really care what people think anymore. A lot of people play this game and you can't show off to them all, especially when you look like a million other characters online at the same time. Usually I'll have my Ghorn equipped for purposes of finding a group, but I use Bad Juju in Crota's End all the way up to Crota himself, then I'll equip my Ghorn again, because Primaries aren't really needed in that fight.

GH has its merits, but I don't seek it out, anymore. HoC suits me just fine. yes, damage isbkey, but if I can use HoC and still take my enemies down, why does it matter how quick I can? same for Truth. if your enemy has 5k health and you deal 6k with hunger and 8k with GH, its still dead.

Hunger of Crota is a good sign they don't have ghally... But, unless the raid needs ghally, I'd rather carry red death and make due with hunger. Health regen is lovely in that fight and 5 hungers still get the job done fine. I vouche exotics are situational, ghally is king of the big boom and a nice option to have.

8 AntwortenYou are wrong. Many guns aren't situational. Example: Icebreaker. I can use that gun for absolutely anything. And no, I don't have the ghorn. But I am fully aware of how situational ir is and how limited it's uses are compared to other exotics like ice breaker.

I'd love a gally, because it's awesome... But I imagine like all launchers I'd only use it for boss fights... If RNGesus sees fit to finally let me have one then I'll let you know if I change my mind on that point

I just had someone tell me on another forum post that "Gjallarhorn is the best for clearing rooms with its blast radius" like wut I used to have a ghorn on another account until it got banned for cheesing crota. It's blast radius is horrendous

I equipped them just for you kid. Invective is my go too exotic for pve, even before the boost. It's always been a beast, I guess a lot of people didn't bother trying it out before. Whenever I do strikes, especially sepiks, archon, omnigul, and phogoth I always whip out my good old invective and let them take a good close look at it ;)

I have Gjally, but it's on my Titan, I'd rather run HoC on my main character (Warlock) because it still gets the job done while allowing the exotic spot. :-)

2 AntwortenThe amount of threads on this site saying 'gjallarhorn isn't that great' is quite funny as whoever posts it 99% if the time doesn't have one. The rest of the time they are just being a hipster. The fact is that gjallarhorn is over twice as powerful as any other rocket launcher in the game. It's only drawbacks are that it takes you exotic slot, and using an exotic heavy is not always ideal. Then again if you have all the raid weapons (most of which are better than exotic primary's and specials) the gjallarhorn can happily be your go to exotic.
