Bungie released Red Death Today in Xur's category of weapons, which has the forums now in riot. However, I think there is something greater going on. I think this was simply a test by Bungie to see how Players would react to something OP, such as Gally or in this case Red Death, be sold. They are looking to how the community reacts, and how they should tend to Xur's inventory in the future. They want to see what happens to PvP, if everyone has access to a good weapon. Performing this on PvE would devastate, so they are doing a small test to see what happens.
EDIT Wow, I'm quite surprised on this post, never expected it to grow big. Now I guess I should rephrase my saying about Red Death and it being OP. What I'm saying here, is that Bungie knows this weapon would cause a small group of distaste by some players by reasons differing between them (Xurn, Too OP, Ruins Crucible, etc.). They had their chance to put in an unsuspecting weapon, and they took it to see playyer reaction (According to my Theory), and take note of what would happen in result. It is a great weapon for PvP and in some cases ruins the experience of PvP for some.

Thats a good theory

Could be. Think it's been sold twice before. Weapon does make sense as a choice to. It's not all that overpowered but relatively rare because pulse rifles were bad the last ones it was sold.

Xur sells the ice breaker and game isn't broken Xur sells red death, game isn't broken Xur sells gjallarhorn game won't break
-
If that was the case they would have used ice breaker for that test, so many out in the wild now it's ridiculous
-
The thought occurred to me this morning, but I never really pondered it since then. I think you're probably right though. Nice catch

Some players can be such little bitches. On one end of the spectrum you have bitches bitching about Xur not selling one thing and then on the other end bitches bitching about him not selling things. Little bitches will bitch until their bitchy little heart is content. Just play the game and have fun. If Xur sells something you want just buy it. If he sells things you already have quit being a bitch just because other people now have the opportunity to buy it. If you can't get something in the game just deal with it like a grown up. Such bitchy whiny entitled people in today's world. It's a video game, quit being such a little bitch.

He probably will since i just spent all my coins lol

31 AntwortenSo many people who got Red Death through RNG, are complaining about him selling it today, I wonder how many of these people would buy it if they hadn't "earned" it before today. Personally, I prefer getting good exotics through RNG, just for the thrill of seeing that longed for weapon finally drop. But, if I can't get it, and Xur sells it, I'm buying. And, I don't give a rat's ass how anyone else got theirs, Xur or RNG, who cares, if it is something you really wanted, I am happy for you. From a PvE perspective, why should anyone care how others got their coveted weapon, does it affect you? If you need to deny others that cherished weapon that makes you feel special, IN A FCKING VIDEO GAME, then you need a life. PvP is a different story, I can see that the sudden, wide spread availability of an OP weapon might throw a monkey wrench into the works, but, I have to wonder; how many PvP players bitch about Xur selling a particular weapon, because they have it and want to maintain their advantage. Go ahead, tear me up, I don't give a shit. Oh, and have a great day, and enjoy your new Red Death, I am glad you were finally able to get it!

I think this was bcoz people got to their system or hacked and they have to rearange xur's list. So when they did they where like "hey its friday the 13th it would be cool to put in red death"
also i think a lot of players would quit if xur sold galla for some reason, its the only treasure they hold against all. Thinking kids buying galla from xur would piss them out
4 AntwortenEveryone cried how it will destroy the game and break PvE when Xur sold the IB in January. The whining started on the forums that day and was gone by Sunday. The only thing that will happen if he sells the mighty G is that raids will be easier and some kids who define themselves over a RANDOM drop will bitch and maybe leave... Also he already sold it in his 2nd week and noone complained...

I already got it but deleted it because of the low dmg, now the buff is present so I will buy it.

9 AntwortenBearbeitet von THC031493: 3/13/2015 6:02:11 PMYea the ice breaker was the test. That's why they took gjallahorn out of xurs inventory. Edit : They saw a large increase in the amount of raids , heroics , and nightfalls completed after icebreaker was sold. And they don't want the game to be easy enough for any nub to succeed

Bearbeitet von Belmontmarauder: 3/13/2015 7:32:31 PMWell.. I see what you mean but honestly are we talking about the government or bungie herewith all these conspiracies
-
Already did a "test" with 1st time they sold last word in November....right around IB time and release of CoD
-
No I'm pretty sure that's what they did with Ice Breaker ... They even put up the coin collection in an update that Xur received from the second time (since release) that he sold it.
-
All this test will do is show how op RD is in crucible( I use it so I know it is). Then when they see the stats they will nerf pulse rifles to the ground like they did auto rifles
-
They wanna see the data in Iron banner next 17, for sure will be a pulse rifle bounty this time, another balance is needed ;)
