Bungie released Red Death Today in Xur's category of weapons, which has the forums now in riot. However, I think there is something greater going on. I think this was simply a test by Bungie to see how Players would react to something OP, such as Gally or in this case Red Death, be sold. They are looking to how the community reacts, and how they should tend to Xur's inventory in the future. They want to see what happens to PvP, if everyone has access to a good weapon. Performing this on PvE would devastate, so they are doing a small test to see what happens.
EDIT Wow, I'm quite surprised on this post, never expected it to grow big. Now I guess I should rephrase my saying about Red Death and it being OP. What I'm saying here, is that Bungie knows this weapon would cause a small group of distaste by some players by reasons differing between them (Xurn, Too OP, Ruins Crucible, etc.). They had their chance to put in an unsuspecting weapon, and they took it to see playyer reaction (According to my Theory), and take note of what would happen in result. It is a great weapon for PvP and in some cases ruins the experience of PvP for some.

Bearbeitet von haphazardlynamed: 3/14/2015 1:48:39 AMNot the first time bungie did this Remember when xur sold TLW It got spammed in crucible Then it got ninja nerfed Fully expecting them to nerf RD after a week or so of collecting statistics on how good it is

It isn't op. It's a great gun, I got mine earlier this week through the VoG and it's all I've used since I've got it in pvp so I've got some use on it. First off, it's a amazing mid range gun. And if you're accurate, the two shots are bad ass. Now that being said, the gun has some faults like the fact that it's pretty unforgiving to miss a headshot or a burst. Great gun, not op

Red Death has been sold twice.
-
9 AntwortenUm. Dude. Red Death has been sold before.
-
Its so everyone uses it then realise the best counter is nlb ;)

I see, do you also have a tin foil hat?

2 AntwortenIs this gun really OP? I don't think so at all. I have only unlocked a couple tiers so i've got a long ways to go til the red death perk kicks in. It has good impact though and i like it enough. I don't pvp much and only played maybe a couple since they smashed the guns with the latest nerfing. The stats are good for Bungie. When they sold IB they even said they saw a massive increase in players who started doing weeklies/NF/Raids for the first time. Selling the Gjallarhorn would be a smart move. It would push those last hold outs to go ahead and start raiding and doing the NF every week. Putting in more hours. This is a double edged sword. For one, take away the "chase" and some, maybe a lot of, players will actually decrease playtime. Conversely the less talented player base would start racking up more hours weekly. I was one when IB sold I started doing my first NFs and did my first raid not too long after i had it maxed. I think the positives outweigh the negatives. They want more people logging on more hours. Selling OP or super rare weapons will do that and it's been proven.

I think you do have a point, but don't think red death is op. They do seem to set him to sell more weapons that are mainly great for crucible. Like suros and the truth and tlw. Usable outside of the crucible but not as op. I think they are more worried about people getting a lucky reward, then get an unfair advantage in crucible. Like the vex when people first got it. People will whine and complain because the keep getting killed by weapons that someone equally skilled just better luck have. People bitch a lot
-
Suros and last word created way more tears than the red death has. There is only a small vocal minority left that actually think they are princesses because they own a certain gun. Most are fine knowing everyone will have the same gear and guns eventually.
-
Well I now know that Red Death wrecks me in the crucible and I'm bad and should use my Red Death I got more often
-
Well he's sold ice breaker a bunch so that wasn't enough for them to figure it out?
-
This is the equivalent of a spring drizzle compared to the torrential downpour of rage tears that Xur has instigated in the past.
-
2 AntwortenTBH, I think Xür should just not sell a weapon, just the upgrade
-
I bought Red Death and like my Three Little Words better. It's actually stronger the RD.
-
I think they'll be like whoa now no one uses auto rifles and everyone uses pulse rifles lets nerf everything again and buff something else hahahaha
-
What bungie really needs to do is kick out the spoiled kids that think xur selling red death or ghorn is a bad thing. Get over it people
-
It's fine. Everyone will be okay. Life will go on. I hope he sells ghorn so we can get rid of some of these toxic people in this community.
-
Yeah you're right op icebreaker wouldn't have been the better comparison. You in love with that cocoooooo

Friday 13th... Red death.... I think there's more then one coincidence here
-
3 Antwortendont you remember ? the game, especially PvP dies if xur sells: - the last word - truth - icebreaker - red death - Plan C - Patience and Time -suros specially at the last word, suros and P&T the tears were a river that washed away all reason.. so basically the game should be already dead and everyone has an OP gun =D

Bearbeitet von xilxad: 3/14/2015 1:19:29 AMIt sounds like you are hoping they sell the mighty Horn?
they wont
4 AntwortenRed Death isn't OP lol. It's barely OK.

Personally I am super glad they did because I've been wanting it since day one and I've been trying to get it for so long
