The "Gjallahorn" problem (Not what you're thinking)
Ok... I've been reading just about every post about the Gjallahorn, mainly because I don't have one yet and have been feeling cheated.
But then I started realising something... I'm not alone.
The Gjallahorn is just the embodiment of the issue here. It's become a symbol for that thing in the game that you want, but could just as easily be replaced with the Red Death or Thunderlord or Hawkmoon or [Insert your missing item here].
I also realised that the reoccurring factor seems to be that people are looking directly at their situation compared to their friends.
Everyone wants to have what their friends have, it's just human nature.
But just for a second it dawned on me. Even though I'm one of only two of my friends who don't have Gjallahorn, I'm not alone in this. It's not just me. I also don't have Red Death or Thunderlord.
Sometimes it's hard to see past your own situations, but maybe, just maybe if we could gather some numbers from those of us who are still chasing our "Gjallahorn", people might feel less cheated, and more like a section of the community simply sharing a common problem, and chasing a common goal.
This may flop hard, and there will most likely be the usual hating, but I just thought this might help people calm down on both sides of the fence.
I'm going to keep playing, grinding and enjoying the game... And whenever my "Gjallahorn" comes along, it'll be a sweet day.

2 AntwortenI don't have a Gally, a Red Death, or a Last Word. I'd really like one, and really wanted them for a time. Then I noticed that that want got in the way of my fun, and stopped caring as much. Still don't have them, and by shrugging them off my fun level has doubled. I've beaten Crota HM a couple of times, and I pug a lot and be the best bro I can, met new pals, and have had an overall great time. Do I want them? Sure, but I'm not going to get angry about it. I suggest you guys give it a try. Trust me, stress level down, fun level up. If you get it, you get it. If not, whatever, keep playing with friends.

2 AntwortenAgreed I have gally and I'd trade it any day for that helmet from crota. I want to be 32 already. I have friends who have multiple 32 and a friends that only beats raids because we carry his sorry ass through them. Seriously if he wasn't my friend in real life I'd never play with him. He's that bad. But they don't have gally and I do. I guess that's something. But I don't really care. I only use it in the crota raid. And other exotics beat it. Like how I prefer red death over gally in pvp. And for most pve I'm a fan of ice breaker or invective(shotgun buff ftw! ) On a side note. I wasn't even pumped when I got gally. I wish I recorded my reaction it went something like this (some kid in my raid) "oh snap sizzle you got gally!" (Me) "great another week of no helmet. .. oh cool a rocket launcher..."

1 AntwortenAwesome post bro. Ive been playing since beta and i have 3 lvl 32 characters on my ps4 account. I have way more time invested in this game than i probably should. I just got my first ghorn last week. It will happen eventually for everyone, but i understand the frustration of everyone else on the fireteam getting the weapon i want, knowing they have multiple already, and its about to get sharded. Like you, i had to stop and think. I have all exotic weapons but 2! There are weapons i have 3 of, that some other player cant seem to find. Its all about perspective bro. Anyways, great post bro. Just keep grinding and you will find it!

1 AntwortenMy friend got one before me and guess what, I didn't care because he uses it to help me. Then eventually I got one and I helped him and other ppl who don't have one. Yes, it's awesome, but people should use it to help with other less fortunate friends

i dont have one but at least i was able to get the vex which i love, but only playing one character because i dont want to go thru all the same stuff two more times puts me at a disadvantage for getting things from raids. they should have it to where if we only want one character we should still be able to get the loot 3 times on raids

5 AntwortenFor me its not wanting what my friends have its more or less the G-Horn or Hunger of Crota has become a necessity if you are taking new players through the raids. Its more or less the Icon of what to have because Bungie has made it a necessity due to nerfing the overall dps of weapons so that mainhands/specials burn Crota/Atheon to slowly in many cases

4 AntwortenTook me forever to get one.. then immediately got my second one.. Soon there after got the crux.. And back in the day I got so many vex mythocasts I cant even remember how many I have broke down.. The point of it is an exotic rocket launcher is almost inconvenient at times.. Impossible to run ice breaker or suros or any other exotic of your choice while the ghorn is equipped.. And its proven that any rocket that tracks does as well most of the time as the ghorn..

8 AntwortenTiny minor problem... You may never get your 'Gjallarhorn.' Thats the bad side of RNG, which is one reason why other MMO games that use RNG give you five or ten rewards at the end and everyone gets a reward for every activity.
