How rare is a Black Hammer drop?
Just curious. Thanks.

Not that rare, has dropped all around me but not on me unless someone takes aim an uses it on me :(

It's random. I got one my first time and have dismantled 3 more, but some of my friends have yet to get even 1.

it was my first crota weapon. but i never got another one and i have a lot of friends who still need one. i would say its fairly rare.

Judging from all of my combined Crota runs, there is a 0% chance that the black hammer will drop.

In my experience, you get a drop from Crota normal CP about 50% of the time- drop meaning an actual item, not just materials. These include: helmet, black hammer, swordbreaker, light of the abyss, song of ir tut, hunger of crota, light in the abyss. The emblem and shader are auto-drop and don't hurt your chances for drops, in my experience, neither do exotics dropping simultaneously. So an equally weighted drop table would have your chances of getting black hammer on any given completion somewhere around 1 in 14, if the overall item drop is 50% as I'm just guessing there. I'm Also not positive if the ship light in the abyss counts as an item, if it doesn't, that would improve BH chance to 1 in 12.

Just in case some people don't know, Black Hammer only drops from Crota himself on normal. If you're trying to get it and only running hard mode, you're gonna have a bad time.

Got it on my first raid and shelved it. Yesterday i finally got around to using it. Bout to buy some spinemetals to fully level it.

I've prob run the crota encounter portion 25 times with my Titan and could never get it. First time with my second character, Hunter, and for it.

It goes either way just like most drops. Either you have the luck for it or not. I got one my first raid, and have had a total of 13. My buddy has been playing months longer than me and hasn't got one yet.
