So I've recently began a hunter, and I was wondering if any of you wonderful hunters could give me tips.
EDIT: The amount of help I've received is overwhelming. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!

Contrary to popular belief, GG does a tiny bit more extra damage if you aim for the head.

I love Golden Gun everywhere. Gunslinger is such an amazing class! Over penetrating and Exploding effect are THE best combo, and trip mines are awesome - just make sure you don't accidentally sls it on something that's charging at you, lol Bladedancer is an awesome subclass as well, VERY useful in many situations. The actual Super is best used as a "medic" - hang back and snipe and revive your team mates when they go down while you are completely invisible. Bladedancer is also one of THE most agile subclasses. Use perks that increase Bladedancer on a kill and trigger health regeneration on a kill. SO much fun! Both have the best jumps in the game. I love Titan jumps, but I prefer Hunter jumps. In PvP both super's can be extremely satisfying. Problems are - you are pretty much 1-shot while you are doing super animation - no armor of any kind - EVERYONE on the map that has been playing a while has just heard you activate your GG or Bladedancer. Blink and Shotgun or Slide and Shotgun can be fun if you master it. I hate when people use these combos. Have fun. Hunter Supers need to be properly used. If you time it right in many cases you can take out a whole enemy team in 1 trip mine, 1 GG shot, 1 Bladedance. The best Exotic for GG is the Acrophylage helmet - 4 Golden Gun shots the best Exotic for Bladedancer - there's 2: 1 - don't Touch Me gloves - melee attacks turn you invisible 2 - mask of 3rd man - extends Bladedance and gives you health regeneration when orb of light is picked up for BOTH use Knucklehead Radar - outside of its locks I love this helmet for BOTH subclasses

Golden gun in PvP is great, you can snipe with it really well and with combustion you can nuke tightly clumped packs of enemies. Combustion with Golden Gun is rad. Bladedancer is okay but recently I've been seeing a lot more people prepared to hold their ground and shotgun bladedancers in the face, though blink is still a way to instantly traverse ground and /really/ throw off an enemy guardian. Stick to longer ranges and don't get in a face fight unless you have a really good shotgun because your nades as a Gunslinger WILL kill you at close range and your melee is ranged which further complements a ranged playstyle.
-
4 AntwortenDon't rush into a situation in the Crucible as you're a squishy class, try and get good placement, flank etc Depends on your play style, but I love Gunslinger, and people are getting a lot better at shutting down Bladedancers.
-
1 AntwortenDon't use blink strike before you pick up the sword.
-
Shove your golden gun up your butt and wiggle it around
-
Use the combustion perk with golden gun
-
3 AntwortenUse symbiote helmet with Gunslinger, put on the Combustion perk and aim so that the explosions would deal damage, use this to maximize damage and spawn the most orbs possible. Use Bladedancer with one of the following: Crest of The Alpha Lupi (Non Hard Mode Raids to be Medic) Mask of The Third Man (Good all Round) or Don't Touch Me gauntlets (Stealth Build) and don't use Arc Blade in PvE unless it has Vanish on for an emergency retreat or revive. This is for PvE, they both work fine in PvP, that one just comes down to preference

4 AntwortenGUNSLINGER: for max orb genoration get the combustion perk to shoot into large packs you generate At least 6 orbs. BLADEDANCER: If your lucky you'll spawn 1-3 orbs for killing like 7 enemies.

6 AntwortenGreat post, CombatNun. Also, get used to the "Blink" jump. No, it's not for "jumping", though it can certainly get you the same places as a regular double-jump (not the high- or triple-jump, though). This is a great ability that gets you both out of trouble and avoids it. For instance - is that Captain shooting a string of tracking blue bullets at you, and you've got nothing to hide behind? No problem! Just run TOWARDS the bullets and blink. Poof, instead of the bullets being right in front of you about to hit you, they are now safely behind you. You can shoot, or if close enough, hit him with an arc blade, then blink backwards. Is that Praetorian/Minotaur/Knight right on top of you and you can't backpeddal quickly enough while still shooting? Blink backwards, and you'll gain an extra 2-3 seconds of shots before he catches you again. So long as you don't hit a wall, you can blink backwards as fast as you can run forwards. You know that hallway with 2 shriekers in Crota (after Bridge)? Don't try to jump over the thrall to get to the door before it closes. Blink through them! Wait until there is a pack right in front of you, then blink. They're behind you! When you max out your agility, carry a weapon with +2 agility, and use blink, you can move across entire rooms or open areas very quickly.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Stanyel: 3/9/2015 4:32:20 PMDon't use the blade dancer super for any light-switch event or on a really high level enemy (but the invis is really helpful), also the fast twitch perk is great for pvp, it's a 3 second cool down for your blink strike and it give you the upper edge in most PvP fights

1 AntwortenYou will be looking for two exotic helms. One is Mask of the Third Man and Achlyophage Symbiote. Both are the best helms for their respective supers. However there is a pair exotic arm pieces that I have fell in love with this raid and that would be the Don't Touch Me's Very useful for anything that melee's you in PVE, Don't use them in PVP. Another tip you are not really invisible, you just get ignored by pve monsters.
-
Invisibility will be your best friend in strikes.
-
Gunslinger: play at range. Make yourself useful as much as possible to fill in any holes your fireteam may have. Blade dancer: play it safe. Use invisibility to your advantage.
-
4 AntwortenBuy the legend of six coyotes cloak from the speaker too
-
1 AntwortenRun in there and stab shit. No matter what your raid team says. Maybe a titan will come too
-
1 AntwortenDepends on your style, Gunslinger doesn't get cut much slack but it's awesome. Golden Gun's useful (except on actual bosses) and the throwing knives are real lifesavers. Sometimes you can't reload fast enough, dude right in front of you is almost dead, throw a knife. Aim for the face. Always.
-
Gunslinger is better than blade dancer in PvP, and almost everything else too.

Learn to solo difficult missions. This will teach you to master your invisibility. Your 'Vanish' skill can last twice as long - hit invisi straight away, then just as the meter is about to run out, hit RT again. You'll get another full invisi! Learn to use all invisibility skills together - Crouching will give you your first one. When it runs out, hit super and use the above trick for double invis, then when that expires, punch something. Get used to combos that keep you hidden for ages. If you don't want to hide, BD can still be deadly, but DO NOT use it to cover distance towards an enemy, in a straight line. This can get you killed. I see so many Hunters, especially in PvP, going super, then zooming towards an enemy in a straight line with their melee. A decent player will kill you before you get there, so either use blink jump or dart around left to right so they can't shoot you. Use 'escape artist' as the name suggests. Don't use it to simply get a hit in and disappear for no reason, get used to using it properly - If you use your super and get amongst the baddies, and when your super runs out you're still outnumbered, hit the nearest thing and GTFO; tis is what it's designed for. If you're up close, out of ideas and need to reload but have nowhere to go, hit something then move away. You'll have time to reload. If using Golden Gun, don't panic if your shot moves; you have a long time to fire three rounds. Lots of people tend to pop super and just fire 3 off straight away and if they can't hit the big guy, wipe out three thralls or dregs. Take your time, you get plenty of it. Your throwing knives are underrated. Make them explody or use the perk that gives you a second one if you get a critical hit. Trip mines will hurt you, so don't throw them at your feet :D Make sure you use the correct exotic armour for your play-style. 'Don't Touch Me' arms are fine if you plan on getting punched a lot, but if you use a 'Knuclehead Radar', you shouldn't have enemies approaching you very often. Learn to use the abilities of Titans and Warlocks to your advantage. A Titan bubble is always useful to you as you're squishy. Blessing of Light is a...erm....blessing. Warlocks using Sunsinger should, IMO, be using the perk that buffs nearby allies. Get near a flaming Warlock and get your fast reloads and grenades. And return the favour with your own orbs (BD doesn't provide many but GG does) If using BD, your crouching invisi is a godsend for teammates who like to rush in and die. Many a Nightfall has been rescued by a transparent Hunter reviving the group. Sorry if any are obvious. Hopefully at least one will help :)

2 AntwortenStack all the agility you can, as a hunter you are inherently squishy with very little in the way of health regeneration or damage mitigating sheilds, dip duck dodge and dive as old callahan used to say.
