I just ran sword for the first time on hard mode Crota's End. And let me tell you, I was amazing at it. 4 hits each kneel for the first sword, then 4 and 1, and finally 3 and 2. Yeah, I know, other people like to go all out and kill him with less swords or other things. But for doing it the first time on hard, I consider that pretty damn good. Now I'm told to do it all the time haha.
So, being the leader of my clan, I'm now efficient in all aspects of each raid. Didn't even have the boots that make me go faster with the sword.
How about you guys? Can you do well? What matters the most for you, the rocket shooters or getting hits in? Tell me.
Edit: Liking all of your responses, my fellow sword bearing badasses. Whether on normal or on hard, you are the real mvp.
If you need help with a sword bearer, add me on Xbox1. I'm on almost everyday. You can also join my clan as well if you need friends to play with.

1 AntwortenI can do it with my Hunter, but I've only ever tried it with my Hunter. I'd be willing to give it a go with my Warlock and Titan, the difference is you need to be positive the rest of the team has enough DPS to take Crota down when you get up there.

1 AntwortenI use my hunter for hard, any class on normal.
-
3 AntwortenI can't. Only tried once, plan on trying it some more (thanks to a super helpful, patient raid team) but I seem to spaz out a bit when trying to get away from Crota after hitting him. I know the fundamentals of what needs to be done, I just seem to -blam!- up the simple execution of turning, jumping, and swinging in mid-air.

3 Antwortenany class.

8 AntwortenBearbeitet von Lutallo: 3/5/2015 9:11:48 AMMajority can do it on any class? Well that's a load of shit. Out of all my Crota completions ever I've only seen 3 swordbearers who were actually good and they were all hunters, not only that but I've never seen anyone do it with another class consistently without 20 wipes. Edit: My experience is with hard, by the way.

I can do it on any class on normal mode. I have yet to try it on hard mode, usually my buddy just does it then

8 AntwortenAlways wanted to run sword but my raid team says "No, you're a warlok, warloks can't be sword runner only hunters"
-
I'm one of a few back ups for the 2 main sword carriers in my clan. I've ran it on all classes. Timing and communication are the key.

I tried running doing four hits each kneel couldn't manage it was like he was programmed to kill me after 6 hits. I'd hit him four times go invisible than I hit him two times he gets up like wtf? What was your technique?
-
2 AntwortenI complete it every week on the first try. I am actually more worried about one of the other dummies dying and ruining everything than I am messing up with the sword.

Bearbeitet von TheLoneHunter: 3/5/2015 3:26:29 PMCan't do on any class bit that's the bottom I chose because the isn't one for I can do with Hunter and other class. I only have Hunter and Warlock.

I really don't like doing it on hard but i can run any class, either difficulty

2 AntwortenBack when normal mode released, I quickly realized that sword bearer has a huge importance in the battle. That's when I decided to master so I don't have to rely on others. Never looked back since.

I'm sure I could, but I haven't yet.

3 AntwortenI got gjallyhorn so usually have to use that but I had a group let me try on my hunter I did it but I suck, I can get the three in but I don't see how you would do the 4 hits thing... That seems crazy timing to me. We have a guy who just bangs it out every time, even when there is lag on the team he seems to sense it and get the hell out after two then bang for the next etc... It's crazy to watch him work.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Angelina Sov: 3/5/2015 2:52:17 PMI definitely can That first time I ran sword and managed to successfully kill Crota was probably one of the most memorable moments I've ever had in Destiny, thus far
-
1 AntwortenI find it very easy for me on my Hunter. But I've also beat Crota with my Titan. (On hard) I can also do it on Warlock when she is level 32. I can do it on any class.

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Hagalaz-27: 3/5/2015 2:46:06 PMChoosing the right strategy and fireteam. Whenever I get stuck with a group of randoms who try the "center strategy", I always end up stumbling over an unseen imaginary deceased turtle and dying because I'm trying to avoid both getting Crota's foot up my ass AND taking incoming fire from the boomers on both sides because the squeaker in charge keeps screaming for everyone to ignore them. That, and also I'm a klutz. I should probably never be the swordbearer, but I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. Edit: related questions for all the pro Swordbearers who actually know what they're doing: does the Sword have a super attack like the ones dropped by the Blades of Crota on Earth, and do you retain the Sword long enough to charge it before attacking Crota?

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von maykitwrx: 3/5/2015 2:50:14 PMHard mode any character. Group won't let me because I rock a ghorn. :(

2 AntwortenIve wanted to, but i never get the oppertunity to learn or use it.
-
1 AntwortenDo it on both my hunters and my Titan
-
2 AntwortenI have two Gjallarhorns so I'm always asked to down Crota, so I've never been given the chance to run the Sword, which is fine with me. My job is simple.
-
1 AntwortenOnce your comfortable with the movement the rest of the fireteam is more important. If you're confident in your fireteam downing him properly you can time the sword run better. It's easier with a hunter because there's more room for error but if the fireteam is competent (sadly a rare thing) then you can do it with any class.

2 AntwortenI wish there was an option can run sword on any class but prefer Hunter lol thats me but yeah it's an amazing and nervous feeling running sword. If you need any tips let me know
