EDIT 2:
Again, thank you everybody for sharing your tips and advice with me. I’m sure there are other fresh warlocks (and probably some experienced ones as well) that have found some new and interesting information in here. (I know I sure did.)
It’s also fantastic to see that the positive replies by far outweigh the few negative ones I got. It is really refreshing to see that there are still so many of you willing to help out complete strangers and are willing to spend a small or sometimes even a very large part of your time to share your preferred setups and/or give your opinion on the matter.
I value all the input and replies I got. Regardless if other people agree or disagree with what you are saying. A lot of it comes down to personal preference and it’s only natural that not everybody will have the same opinion.
In the end, there is no truly right or wrong. What works for you does not necessarily work for me and vice versa.
I will be trying the different perks, exotics and setups out for myself of course and I’m already looking forward to unlocking more of the skill tress of both subclasses along the way.
All the replies I received from you all have given me some very valuable input that lets me already start thinking and planning ahead. My natural ‘feel’ with the warlock will only grow after getting some more playtime and experience with it, but the comments on this post have given me a bit of a head start.
I always try to thank each poster personally, but I can’t keep up with the posts, I’m sorry. Thanks you all again for sharing your advice with me!
Any tips on warlock set up?
I recently started a warlock (only up to level 15 yet) but I’m looking for some tips from experienced warlocks about the ideal setup of the skilltree for sunsinger and voidwalker.
EDIT:
Thank you all for taking the time to answer my questions! It's greatly appreciated!
I know it's mostly personal preference and I will of course be trying the perks and combinations out for myself. I'm just trying to get some tips about your personal preference and set up.
I honestly don't understand why I'm getting all that flak from some of you.
I've posted many questions here on the forum and have tried to answer questions by other players as much as I can to the best of my abilities. This is the first time I've been getting these kind of negative responses.
Luckily there's still much more positive and helpful answers, but it's still showing a trend.
I don't mind the people saying I should try it out for myself, that's a valuable piece of advice in itself, but some of you are just plain negative without willing to contribute in a constructive way to the discussion.
It's kind of sad actually, I thought this place was supposed to be here for asking questions and sharing your destiny experience. If you guys keep this up, you'll end up with forum filled with troll and whine posts.

1 AntwortenCheck out my Warlock Voidwalker setup. This is what I usually go for unless you like to do Blink Shotgun with highest agility, that is. But if you're a Sunsinger, just check mines as well. I go for balance between agility, recovery and armor. If you're a well rounded Warlock Sunsinger, just use the settings I use. XD

1 AntwortenVoidwalker: axion bolt, blink/focused burst, soul rip, and increased energy drain effects. Armor perks I use armor / speed and increased raw speed. Keeps the recovery about midway which is still pretty good, gives you about 1 extra shot for armor, and the speed is responsive. Sunsinger: firebolt grenades! Fusion grenades are purely selfish and don't help do damage to more then one enemy at a time. Solar grenades are situational, but do have crota utility for blocking zones. Pvp or pve this is my go to. When using firebolt do not go for the second grenade perk. You want Viking funeral and the increased damage over time. Melee is flame shield, focused burst and I use the same two armor perks I do for voidwalker armor/speed, and increased raw / speed.

1 AntwortenThe only tip I have is that use the heart of Praxic Fire when sun singer and use obsidian mind when void walker

1 AntwortenI recently made my warlock alt and have leveled it to 32. These are some things I learned from it. First, I prefer to run voidwalker, as radiance is a lackluster super imo, but you might find you enjoy it. For my PvE Voidwalker build, I run Grenade: Scatter Grenade Jump: Either Focused Burst or Blink (depending on how I feel that day) Super: Shatter Melee: Soul Rip Stats #1: Arcane Force Passive #1: Annihilate Stats #2: Divine Order Passive #2: Bloom The way I play this build is dps warlock. There is really one thing this circles around: explosions. Bloom is one of the key components here. Any of my abilities make the bodies of enemies explode if they are killed by the ability. The explosion is pretty powerful too! (Sadly bloom kills don't trigger more blooms) I also run scatter grenade to compliment this. Multiple of the explosions it creates can hit the same target, so it can do a bunch of damage to a single enemy. When it kills an enemy, it also triggers bloom creating an even larger blast radius! Scatter grenade already has a large AoE so it is really effective at taking out groups. I also own obsidian mind, so if I can nova bomb a group of enemies, I can get a huge portion of my super back if it isn't immediately full! I equip shatter for nova bomb because it creates more AoE and a larger area for nova bomb to generate kills with. I also have annihilate on so the explosion of nova bomb is larger. Bloom also affects nova bomb and can clean up anything nova bomb doesn't kill. I have my melee spec'ed to give more charge to my super with a kill. I don't really notice much of a difference from it, but I use it when I don't need to equip regen on my melee. Bloom can also help on my melee and I have killed many groups of thrall with my melee alone. The gear I have is (trying to) focusing on intellect and strength because the voidwalker melee makes the grenade come back faster, so discipline is less urgent. Everything is really focused around the super and bloom and because of bloom I can take out lots of enemies. I really have a lot of fun with this build because I'm constantly using abilities and killing things. My pvp build really just switches bloom to vortex mastery, melee to life steal, jump to blink, and grenade to axion bolt. The grenade is nice because it just chases enemies, melee is good because if you win a melee fight, you usually end up with low health and are easy to pick off and this stops that, and blink is really good with moving around people. Blink can feel really clumsy at first but if you keep using it you will get good at it. The only reason why I don't use blink full time is because I always use it on my hunter and variety is nice. Also, don't use blink on raids... Anyway, I hope this advise comes in handy. Good luck!

2 AntwortenSome good advice here within the mess. I would only add that, when you get there, dont be afraid to use voidwalker in raids. Sure, sun is handy but it becomes a crutch for areas where void is more useful. I use voidwalker on the HM crota fight. Scatter generates orbs adequately and its actually real easy to hit swordbearer from center platform with shatter perk as soon as he walks out. More importantly, its super rewarding when ppl be like "Daaaaaammmnnn!" When you do that shit because they never see nova bombs in that fight.

5 AntwortenI like my setup on both specialy void walker. Sun singer i alt between self res and song of and fusion/solar all about situation
-
6 AntwortenFor pvp, use radiance revive (pro tip: wait until there close for a shotty/ melee) and also I suggest using shotty a lot. And (also can be used in pvp) I suggest; using your normal weapons, but remember. It requires skill to aim it right because gravity affects it

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Raza582: 3/4/2015 7:58:40 PMThis is only my opinion of what I prefer to use. Its best to find a setup that suits you but people's opinions can help, its best to play around with all of the perks and find out what they all do. Voidwalker PVP: Axion Bolt / Blink / Vortex Nova Bomb / Life Steal / Anniihilate / Vortex Mastery / Max Agility no Armour. Voidwalker PVE: Scatter Grenade / Focused Burst / Vortex Nova Bomb / Surge / Annihilate / Vortex Mastery / Max Armour/Recovery. Sunsinger PVP: Fusion Grenade / Focused Burst / Fireborn / Flame Shield / Radiant Will / Gift Of The Sun / Max Agility. Sunsinger PVE: Solar Grenade / Focused Burst / Fireborn / Flame Shield / Radiant Will / Gift Of The Sun / Max Armour/Recovery. You will find later in the game that alot of the perks you have access to work better than others in certain areas of the game, for example a flawless raider run, Fireborn is rendered useless. Armour also makes a huge difference, Axion Bolt is much better with Voidfang Vestments on. Perks can also give you some laughs, if your like me and like to be mischevious, solar wind to push your AFK allies off ledges for lolz :D if you have any questions about what perks to use and where, just ask as there are too many to go through. Good luck fair Warlock and peace :D

2 AntwortenBest tip for a warlock? Don't make one. Otherwise I don't know what to say... sorry for being useless.
-
1 Antwortenjust play and you'll figure out the best stuff for your play style
-
2 AntwortenAs you can see everyone is giving you different advice. My best advice to you is experiment and find what suits you best. There are many paths.
-
1 AntwortenVortex nova, annihilate, bloom for void walker is my all time fav!
-
2 AntwortenWarlock here use both sun singer for raids and open world because of flame shield and self revive. Void walker is good in pvp with blink teleport and shot gun combo
-
1 AntwortenUse void walker for pvp and sun singer for pve
-
3 AntwortenUm....this forum is already filed with troll and whine post. The cod player base flooded our community

1 AntwortenVoidwalker: (If you ever get the choice of bounties): bad juju (swap it with a preferred gun - i like fatebringer) Black hammer (swapped with IB when needed) HoC (would be swapped with gally when necessary) OBSIDIAN MIND Bloom on your skill tree Axion bolt ^bloom + bolt gives you a nade which splits into two cluster grenades which track I prefer to put lance on, the rest is preference. Sunsinger: HOTPF any guns you like my favourite exotic not listed here for warlocks is the light beyond nemesis - in any revivable mode it is one if the best exotics, sprinting and holding the revive button without stopping while running over a dead teammate will revive them- they can do the same to you when you're dead aswell. Also good for crota hard because orbs give you health Ask away for any more questions
-
2 AntwortenObsidian mind with bad juju and anything that speeds up supers
-
1 AntwortenDepends are you a close quarter to mid ranged fighter or kid ranged to far ranged fighter.
-
1 AntwortenBloom=Yes
-
1 AntwortenI would experiment. Everyone has their own preferences. There are some awesome combos out there, but you need to find out what works best for you. I like spawning orbs for teammates and with my warlock set up I can do a lot of that.
-
3 AntwortenU play on xbox 360? If u do add me KNWME,
-
2 AntwortenDon't got any just have a level 10 warlock with an exotic helmet in storage along with legendary boots gloves and shroud. God Bungie why give me that good stuff instead of giving me good stuff for my level 29 Titan or 24 Hunter
-
3 AntwortenYou can check out my sunsinger and see what I have. My exotic chest allows me two fusion grenades, so I've gone with them.
-
1 AntwortenI like to roll sunsinger with fusion grenades, flame shield, and "scorch kills generate orbs" and gift of the sun. I'll try out void walker once I get an obsidian mind and my juju leveled up a good bit
-
3 AntwortenUse your super.
-
1 AntwortenI don't have obsidian mind yet but have HoPF and like the following for PVE: Radiant Skin Flame Shield Radiant Will Gift of the Sun or Touch of flame (been doing gift cause of the extra grenade, but think i'll change to touch of flame for the added AOE) I have bad juju so in a strike I can use the super about 5 to 6 times if i'm maintaining good kill rate which lets me launch about 10-12 grenades per super..... PVP i'll switch to the Fusion Grenade to try to stick others with it.
