EDIT 2:
Again, thank you everybody for sharing your tips and advice with me. I’m sure there are other fresh warlocks (and probably some experienced ones as well) that have found some new and interesting information in here. (I know I sure did.)
It’s also fantastic to see that the positive replies by far outweigh the few negative ones I got. It is really refreshing to see that there are still so many of you willing to help out complete strangers and are willing to spend a small or sometimes even a very large part of your time to share your preferred setups and/or give your opinion on the matter.
I value all the input and replies I got. Regardless if other people agree or disagree with what you are saying. A lot of it comes down to personal preference and it’s only natural that not everybody will have the same opinion.
In the end, there is no truly right or wrong. What works for you does not necessarily work for me and vice versa.
I will be trying the different perks, exotics and setups out for myself of course and I’m already looking forward to unlocking more of the skill tress of both subclasses along the way.
All the replies I received from you all have given me some very valuable input that lets me already start thinking and planning ahead. My natural ‘feel’ with the warlock will only grow after getting some more playtime and experience with it, but the comments on this post have given me a bit of a head start.
I always try to thank each poster personally, but I can’t keep up with the posts, I’m sorry. Thanks you all again for sharing your advice with me!
Any tips on warlock set up?
I recently started a warlock (only up to level 15 yet) but I’m looking for some tips from experienced warlocks about the ideal setup of the skilltree for sunsinger and voidwalker.

Thank you all for taking the time to answer my questions! It's greatly appreciated!
I know it's mostly personal preference and I will of course be trying the perks and combinations out for myself. I'm just trying to get some tips about your personal preference and set up.
I honestly don't understand why I'm getting all that flak from some of you.
I've posted many questions here on the forum and have tried to answer questions by other players as much as I can to the best of my abilities. This is the first time I've been getting these kind of negative responses.
Luckily there's still much more positive and helpful answers, but it's still showing a trend.
I don't mind the people saying I should try it out for myself, that's a valuable piece of advice in itself, but some of you are just plain negative without willing to contribute in a constructive way to the discussion.
It's kind of sad actually, I thought this place was supposed to be here for asking questions and sharing your destiny experience. If you guys keep this up, you'll end up with forum filled with troll and whine posts.

Look at my Warlock
its my personal preference to use sunbolt with the grenade DoT ability most people use fusion and double grenade
1 AntwortenFor PvP, sunsinger is a better choice. Burn with viking funeral and firebolt grenades is great. I usually run with self rez just to have the option. Almost never use it but its nice to have. Dont save up your super for self rez unless you want to kill the guy who t-bagged you. Hopefully you bought heart of praxic fire. That chest is the best thing sunsinger has. Be prepared for hate messages. For some reason people get butthurt when you keep burning them :)

I have yet to find an exotic I like better than apotheosis veil. Regenerating your health when using a super and orbs give health are clutch for CE. Claws of ahamkara (sp?) is a close second as I love using scorch with the perk for added health. I think heart of praxic fire is way over hyped.

1 AntwortenObisdian mind + bad juju + void walker= constant supers

Also if you want a good setup for crucible gear wise. Use voidfang vestments for grenades and look for arms that increase the reload speed with whatever gun you like using the most. And look for a helmet that increases melee speed.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von ArtoriusII: 3/4/2015 8:40:07 PMOk so I've been playing since Beta and Day One of release, and I've been maining a Warlock the entire time. I've got about 150+ hours on just one of my Warlocks, might be more might be less. VoidWalker: Gear: Now before Obsidian Mind used to be a thing a great build for Void was. Skull of Dire Ahamkara: Better Melee Drain and you take less damage while Bombing. (Alternatives now): Claws of Ahamkara: Two chances to drain for either your super or two possible full heals. Plus the extra bit for your Grenade. Obsidian Mind: Kills with your Bomb decrease the time for your next bomb. Pretty much the go to Exotic for Warlocks now. Weapons: Before Obsidian Mind (again) the go to in my eyes was Monte Carlo (PS3/4 of course) and it's still even more so a good viable option. Monte Carlo: Chance to replenish Melee ability upon a kill. Synergizes great with Claws cause you're constantly going to be having Melee's which in turn means you're constantly popping enemies and dropping your super CD on top of having grenades pretty frequently. For Xbox any other weapon of your choice was viable. However sadly not as good as PS3/4's options. Post Obsidian Mind. Bad Juju: Kills instantly reload mag and increase damage while also replenishing your super. Obsidian Mind and Bad Juju are somewhat of a broken (in a good way) combo. Nova Bomb Enemies>Less CD for next Bomb>Pop a few enemies with Bad Juju>Almost never have to reload>More Consistent Super energy>More Nova bombs>More Orbs>Cycle continuously repeats itself. Special and Heavy Weapons would be your choice of course. They would have much of an impact on your build of than how your game play would be. Skills/Abilities: I prefer to use the better handling for glide, I like to be able to move more freely if I'm taking damage while in the air. Some people like to run and use Blink, I find it such a hard thing to use because you have to know the exact distance by heart in relation where you are at that given point. It's hard to master but a great thing to use if you can. Melee: Depends on your playstyle, if you would to have a dependable heal go with Life Steal, if you'd like to have constant super with a Bad Juju go with Soul Rip, Surge is... Well sadly not really conventional, unless you really like fast reloads and you don't have a Bad Juju. Super: I like to use Vortex since I like alot of AOE, however Shatter and Lance can be really good if you're good at aiming your bomb. Again all depends upon your playstyle. Grenade: I really like Scatter since it's a good AOE type Grenade, just be careful it can kill you and do damage back to you as well. Axion is only really good of you have Voidfang and you run Vortex Mastery. Again playstyle. Modifiers and junk: I prefer to run a little bit more armor and regen. Better health gain and less damage, so do whichever suits you. Maybe you like more armor and ability. It's all up to you, not gonna harp on this one too much. Skill Mods: Angry and Annihilate are two great mods, I don't really see much of a difference when I run Angry however some people swear by it. Also Angry+Shatter, good combo. As I said earlier I like Vortex so I usually run Vortex and Annihilate larger AOE cause I can. But as I keep saying it's all based on playstyle. And this just so happens to be mine. Also apologies for the massive wall of text. I can be a little too descriptive some times. Sunsinger will be cont. (Edited)

6 AntwortenMy question is, can any one explain the Axion Bolt grenade to me? I understand it spawns those like orbs to seek out people but they seem very very weak to me so is our useful, and does the initial explosion so any damage? Also what's up with that blinding that it does to an enemy in PvP?

7 AntwortenThis is a titans view: Dont take self res unless you die lots, use the one that helps cool downs. Use either spam fusion or spam solar grenades, one for dps, one for holding stuff eg sync plates in VoG. Void walker: try to get obsidian mind and use bloom to smash blobs of enemies with grenades.

13 AntwortenI have a lvl 18 warlock and I can't even work out the stupid hover/glide bullshit if it's not a single jump high there's a 95% chance I can't get up

1 AntwortenVoidwalker Bad Juju Obsidian Mind Soul Rip INFINITE SUPERS
-
1 AntwortenCheck out my voidwalker, big explosions and a sneaky bit of life steal, if I take too much damage. Usually run with obsidian mind.
-
1 AntwortenLevel both sub-classes. They both play extremely differently, and provide great flexibility.
-
2 AntwortenI recommend my Voidwalker skill tree if you're into widespread havoc (bloom) killing but still retaining the ability to destroy yellow bars without too much difficulty.
-
1 AntwortenStart using void first until maxed. Make sure you do lvl up radiance though. When you start getting higher always run exotic wise, sunbreakers, Hopf, or obsidian mind. Make sure You have toughness up pretty much all the way
-
1 AntwortenI personally don't play sunsinger(I don't find it fun), but look at my warlock's setup. Disregard the sunbreakers though, they're the only reason I'm 29 lol. In the end I want to make a high intellect obsidian mind build, but I don't have good luck with exotics.

1 AntwortenMy advice is to try lots of different settings. Find some low level dregs and kill a few, change the perks and then repeat. If something baffles you, then do a keyword search. Things you find out for yourself stick better. I will change my grenades 3-4 times per day. Getting an exotic is also time to experiment some more. If you get a chance to buy the Heart of Praxic fire again then jump all over that, the benefits are HUGE.
-
1 AntwortenYou can check my gear. That is my set up for raids. If I'm in pvp or patrols I'm running void walker
-
1 AntwortenCheck out my Warlock Voidwalker setup. This is what I usually go for unless you like to do Blink Shotgun with highest agility, that is. But if you're a Sunsinger, just check mines as well. I go for balance between agility, recovery and armor. If you're a well rounded Warlock Sunsinger, just use the settings I use. XD
