Weapon rebalancing made fools of everyone who chased guns. Remember how excited you were when you finally got Suros or Hard Light or whatever gun you lusted after? Why did you want it? Because it was better.
This update makes sure no gun is better than any other. They were all balanced to be the same. You might as well just use the first purple gun you find, it'll be just as good as any other. There is no point hoping to find a specific gun.
If you are playing hoping to find a certain gun, that laughing sound you hear is Bungie.

1 Antworten
finally got Suros
This was me last week and I was buzzing. I'd wanted it since week one, when it was discovered to be a beast of a machine. Mine finally dropped and was a beast for less than a week. Nice one, Bunj.
You might as well just use the first purple gun you find
Two of my characters rock purples almost all the time. There are only 2 yellow primaries I find worthy of a slot now, Bradley Jooj and MIDA, and have found that
it'll be just as good as any other
is spot on. I only need Gjally, Thorn and that amazingly talented Necrochasm to have all exotics, but I really don't see the point in it any more; I'm doing more than enough damage with purples. Exotics aren't exotic enough and, like you say, all weapons are becoming as good as each other. Good read btw :)

1 AntwortenFigures that as soon as Suros gets a 15% nerf it keeps dropping from nightfall for me. Thanks for the exotic shard from nightfall guys!

In theory, but currently they're far from perfect balance. Right now they're operating on numbers of how many people use X gun type, and trying to push people towards a more even distribution amongst the four types of primary weapons. Which is stupid. If all four types were perfectly balanced you would NEVER see a perfect 25% for each type. Far more people prefer ARs than hand cannons as a weapon so even with perfectly balanced guns the ARs will see more usage. Different people like different things, it's normal. And a lot of people like the satisfaction of an AR. Now, when guns are imbalanced yes plenty of people gravitate to whatever is perceived as OP, and balancing needs to be done (although I feel they're moving a little too far all at once with some of these changes), but I don't get the impression they really know what they're doing here. Just reacting, flailing around.

13 AntwortenExotics are not exotic enough. It's sad and pathetic. Look at the start of the rarity of guns. As it increases it gets more and more tiers for you to to unlock. Uncommon has more than common. Rare has more than uncommon. Legendary has more than rare. Exotic has the same -blam!-ing amount as legendary. makes no sense. Exotics should be powerful. Should always beat out a legendary. It should be a hard decision for which gun you want to use up an exotic slot for.

Who was excited about a Suros? Lol ew.
-
Lol noob. Red death reigns supreme
-
You go ahead and use that purple gun with mulligan and clown cartridge. No thanks for me.

2 AntwortenI remember giving absolutely zero -blam!-s when I got my suros. I was excited for juju, the last word, and hawkmoon. I'm actually pretty stoked that one of my favorite guns is competitive now. You should chase guns because you like them, not to have "best in slot."

All guns are not the same, Bungie wouldn't know how to do that if they only had one gun. That said they have broken a massive portion of the available arsenal, including basically everything I was still looking for.

1 AntwortenI just wish they'd do separate stats for PVP and PVE, so the PVP whiners quit getting my PVE weapons nerfed.

This is the FATE OF ALL FOOLS
lololol puns
Have you ever heard of playstyle and preferences and not unfairly unbalancing the game so that one is dominant? You should chase weapons because you'll enjoy using them/they suit your playstyle, not because they are objectively better than any others.

8 AntwortenThey are attempting to make more guns viable. Auto rifles was the most used gun ,because they did a good amount of damage at a fast pace. Things like pulse rifles and scout rifles could not compete. And just giving them a damage increase would not work because it would speed up the killing time. The changes to hand cannons also makes sense. Their range was getting to sniper levels. They are attempting to make a more balanced game and maybe this is not the perfect fix but they are trying.

I've been owning ppl in crucible with suros for weeks now, so if it got nerfed im sorry, I must have killed a bungie noob and he cried
-
Ummm maybe they made a fool of you, but I lusted over red death for a real long time, but when I got it, I was still better off using suros or vex or some other AR. Now my weapon of choice is actually viable! Love my pulse rifles!

My favorite PVP gun lately is blue (rare). :-P
