I'm 13 and I'm going through my voice changing stage where I get frequent voice cracks and it's really annoying so I just wanted to know, does this make me a squeaker I don't know. what you would consider a squeaker? When I come across a young kid with the mic right up to his mouth and he's talking loud it just sucks so I wanted to know your guys opinion on when you stop being a squeaker thanks

2 AntwortenWhen I was a boy, it was my dog's favorite toy. In high school, it was the name of this guy who lost a testicle in a gym accident. In college, it was a petite girl whose passionate screaming hurt your ears when you banged her just right. As an old married man, it's a fart I can't hold in anymore that I try to let out slowly while my wife's in the room. In a few years I imagine it'll be what my knees sound like when I use the stairs.

I classify a squeaker as a younger kid who doesn't listen/yells in the mic/or is just annoying in general. I have no problem playing with younger players, just listen and don't clog up the chat.

4 AntwortenA squeaker, in my opinion, has less to do with the "squeaky" voice, and more to do with the attitude. I have played with countless numbers of kids who have "squeaky" or "cracking" voices, but they play intelligently, follow instructions, add valuable insight to situations, and are generally great to play with. I do not refer to them as squeakers. I refer to them as guardians. Now, on the other hand, if I'm playing with some randoms and there is a high-pitched, obnoxious, self-centered, selfish, individualistic, know-it-all despite knowing nothing, liability on the team, regardless of age, I may very well refer to that individual as a squeaker. So, for the record, I don't care if you're 5, 15, or 25. If you're playing, you're competent, or willing to listen and learn, I'm all for having you on my squad.

To me, a Squeaker is more a mindset than an age group, but it goes hand in hand. I classify gamers as squeakers if they have that Know It All, I Know What I'm Doing, and My Way is the Right Way Mentality, coupled with the above mentioned age groups. Once you hit 15, that's called being an asshole.

1 AntwortenI don't base a squeaker on age, just generally higher pitched voices, who don't shut the hell up and have to comment on how they fair against every single add they face. Seriously no one needs a running commentary on how someone can kill a dreg.

6-10 = squeaker 10-14 = squeaker All little kids are squeakers until they can prove they are not. It's not about the voice, it's about the maturity level. I have played with a few (very few) kids around the 12-13 year old age that were quiet (read: not obnoxious) and mature when they did speak. I didn't consider them squeakers despite the cracking voice. I always make sure to compliment these rare gems when the game is over. I want them to know their maturity is recognized and appreciated.

Any kid that screams into the mic when they die or don't get there way If you're screaming and under the legal age to play the game, you're a squeaker

When I can't differentiate your voice between that of a female.

1 AntwortenWent through puberty and my voice never really cracked... I guess I must of went through a gradual change over time rather than an all of a sudden change from squeaker to beater.

I got a couple people on here that I play with that's 13, they're the only exceptions mainly bc they don't act like they're 13.

1 AntwortenFor me it depends on the maturity of the player. Some younger kids or in your case teens absolutely lose their shit when we wipe on a raid or the raid takes time or they didn't get what they hoped for or someone gets what they wanted and when they actually do get what they hoped for. (If you couldn't tell I've been through this before haha)

1 AntwortenIt's only bad when you're a squeaker and you join Crota as a 29.

First of all - welcome to The Change. Every one of us has been through it. I hate all this "squeaker" talk - regardless of your age, if you come across as mature then you are fine with me. Some youngsters are over-eager and think they know it all - or have such baaaaaad language. All I ever ask, and this is for everyone: 1. Be polite. 2. Try not to talk ALL the time - only when it is useful. 3. If things get heated, don't get the hump - it's just adrenalin kicking in. 4. Enjoy the game. I've played a raid with a group of adults, but two were kinds. One was a sword bearer with loads of experience. The other was a kid with no experience. The no experience person proceeded to try to tell everyone how to run the raid, which pissed people off. Anyway - catch you about - and enjoy playing!
