I would just like to point out that we are all someone's mother, daughter, sister, wife, girlfriend or even grandmother. Imagine if your little sister was heading home late at night, would you not be supportive of her not walking home alone but with her friends ? (It shouldn't be unsafe in the first place but that's a whole other discussion) The Dames do not hate men! That is not the reason or point behind this clan. We team up to do raids, strikes or crucible with like minded people. That includes our ally group the SafeGamers. They also team up with each other for raids and whatnot, because they are a decent bunch of people that are a bit more mature than a lot people that play this game. I can only speak of personal experience, but I get rude messages, I get teased during raids with random team mates even though I am not the reason behind the wipes or failures. I get the abuse just because I'm a girl. Why?? Why does my feminine presence bring out the worst in people? Just get on with the game and kill Crota! Lol Guys, just let us have this one safe haven where we can relax and have fun! Please?! edit: thanks for all your support :) edit 2: wow! Lots of feedback. I just want to clarify the term "safe environment" for female gamers. This is means safe from online abuse, sexual harassment, stalking, bullying etc. Not everyone has the confidence or are able to handle online abuse. Also, all those guys that feels excluded because your are male and are calling us sexist for it.... The Dames are trying to INCLUDE all those girls playing Destiny that (some of) you mocked and made fun of into a mature clan with people that look out for each other. We also have a male ally clan that does the same thing. No one is excluded out of our ever growing clans because of gender.

I am a female who has had to delete or block players in destiny. Some friends and I created our own clan that is both sexes. Sexual harassment is not tolerated as I am the only female member and my male friends have seen what I have to put up with. My fellow male clan members do not tolerate any sexual harassment from anyone playing with us. Yes we role with the best of them but if I say ok now, they stop. But mostly it is about silly things and nothing to do with sexual. Yes, ladies, there is good groups out there. You can find another good group at Light of Enders. I am an admin with this group and do not tolerate gender profiling

This is pretty cool actually. My wife and I game together and have found some awesome people to play with, and also many jerks that can't seem to tolerate female players.

I dont understand why cant both men and women play together without the need for isolation.. I play with my clan and chose the people i regularly play with soley based on how entertaining they are and how good they are.. Among those friends are men and women and I never treatedd either in a diffrent way.. Now for feminists.. And this is merely an opinion.. Why construct and isolated clan when trying to be treated equally? For me its a little hypocritical.. But I am also part of the destiny community and I am very aware of the existence of harassment directed at women. But such harassment also exists between players who are highly skilled and kinderguardians regardless of gender.. I believe this community is one of the best and is constantly improving.. I am a woman gamer who has gamed since the age of 5 and I'm 32. Experience and high level guardians weren't enough for this group. I asked to join Dames weeks ago and was promptly rejected for no reason. I find men to be more welcoming. Women are just as judgmental and exclusionary online as IRL. And I thought that this was a platform where I'd be welcome! I am the trulonewolf.

To me the idea that girl gamers should feel like they need to join an all girls clan to enjoy multiplayer saddens me. It really shows how bad the community is and isn't something to be celebrated.

What I want to know is why I was denied access to be a part of this clan? What's the requirements? I'm just looking for a safe place to play with other ladies. Is that so much to ask?

After reading some of the replies to this... Seriously guys. Real gamers don't care about gender. I'll have anyone on my friends list as long as they're a good player. That's all that matters, really. Likewise, I hate everyone equally. The drunk girl trying to raid is just as annoying as the dude calling people a dumbass every two seconds. I really feel bad that there's a sexist portion of the gaming community. Part of it is our culture's fault, valuing women only for looks, sex, and housework. Of course, some women perpetuate the stereotypes and make it harder for other women. Also, there's a struggle that females have to fight against. Most male gamers are pretty smart and the average young woman... isnt. Female gamers automatically have something to prove in order to be accepted. There's a sort of prejudice I guess. I don't know the overall point I'm trying to make. I probably shouldn't have written this while tired.
