Wtf are people doing, stocking up for the apocalypse? Xur has never gone more than 4 weeks without heavy. It's historically about every other week. Aaaand the heavy ammo fix is coming in a damn week... Not gonna be losing all our heavy ammo each wipe. People acting like its the last time he will ever sell it.
Honestly, what are you gonna use 800 synths on? Am I the only one that's done with HM Crota and prefers not to blow all my coins and become a slave to the Weekly Heroic again just to restock?
Its your $ but c'mon... 800? I bought 140 myself and I thought that was a lot
Edit: Mistake on my part. Last time Xur sold heavy ammo was 1/9. So the last 5 times before today that he was in the Tower he didn't have it.
Edit 2: lots o' salty, bitter people here. Shouldn't have expected anything less on these forums. I was just curious, and I got my answer. I get it if you have nearly all the exotics and have hundreds of coins. Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Edit 3: Just so we're clear, I always have heavy when I need it, I lasted the entire Drought of 2015 with heavy to spare, and I am effectively done with HM Crota as of about 10 days ago. Am I the only one that Surpluses?

I never ran out yet bought over 100 per character. Still have 130 or so coins and another weekly left. I love using them to melt roc strikes for kicks and giggles. 32 titan with ruin wings and synths for when the wings wont fly... on a 26 roc strike? let me just primary whichever heavy I feel like playing with today.

Last time he sold it which was about 5 or 6 weeks ago, I bought 140 and thought that was a lot. But then was when Crota HM came out and I blew through them quickly. This time I bough 640 and even though I don't use anywhere near as many as when HM first released, I just figured I won't have to buy synth for months, nor will I ever have to glimmer farm again. Plus I still have almost 200 strange coins since Xur doesn't bring anything else worth buying.

They are stocking up because of the stupid bug. Not like they are missing anything. Xur hasn't been useful since like November.

Bought 50 for each character and then a reserve of 50 in the vault so that way I'm not having to keep switching between all three guys anymore now I can load up and go

If Xur sells G-horn then I will buy 3, but till that day, I have no other use for strange coins other then heavy synth.

Yeah dude I had like 20 something in the vault and like a few between all my characters. I only bought 15 coins worth of it lol. But I'm officially done with destiny till HoW or when friends need help with anything :P .

Bought over 1000 heavy ammo synth! What! Yeah I dont need to stockpile heavy ammo, but screw it. What else would i use those coins on? Plus it was funny to see my vault filled with nothing but ammo synth lol

I buy them because I run HM ALOT every week to help out loads of different people get the kill. That being said I don't go overboard and get 800 of them. I'm good with 300.

lol, What else is there to buy? I grabbed a few extra stack for each character and still have 250+ coins, I grabbed it just to be able to play around with heavy when I'm doing strikes/bounties, plus I was bored....
