So, after a long day of Iron Banner, I decide to head back to the tower to see if my bounties had reset, they didnt... This tower was oddly quiet though, no one running around, no christmas newbies jumping up and down after coming back to the tower with their big haul, It was just quiet. Im about to head out into orbit until suddenly a lone message appears at the top of my screen. I think to myself "oh god not another crota invite." I go to the dashboard hestitantly and click messages. It was a quaint, small message from a lone lvl 27 in the tower asking me to run the nightfall with him, that since hes been playing this game hes been alone. I stare at the message my eyes squinted and my heart drooping. I think queitly to myself, that I dont have time for this, that I dont want to. As im about to click back my heart kicks in and tells me just do it. So I invite him to a private session and we begin the nightfall together. I of course have already done it and wasnt really expecting anything. For a lvl 27 this guy was pulling his weight. Reviving me when he could, attempting to do damage. We finally get to sepiks prime and kill the bastard. I was really hoping for him to get an exotic, to make this nightfall special and he did, he got the "Helm of Inmost Light" for his/her titan. I turn around and see him jumping with glee dancing about the new exotic he just recieved. I think to myself, "my job here is done." I leave to go to orbit and continue to go about my day. Moral of the story, if you see someone that is new dont be afraid to give them a hand and show them the ropes, because remember, everyone was new once, even you.
EDIT: Thanks to everyone for the great comments! :) I never thought this would get so many of them, make sure to share your stories down below and keep on keepin on.
EDIT: Im providing free nightfall/weekly runs, for anyone that needs to do them. New, experienced, old, young, whatever it may be ill help you get it done. PSN: Leonatius (PS4)

Nice to see someone helping out a player in need, rather than complaining about lower level, less experienced, and/or less skilled players.
-
People should always add a message to their invites. Some are just random inviting people just because you are a high level. You could also tell him that there are forums for lfg for strikes, raids, etc..also here on the bungieforum. There are more people like him/her looking for help. :)

Respect.

I was in the tower couple of days ago and same thing happened. Help this guy thru weekly, we where chatting and atheon came up. He said do u guys know where he is? Cuz I can't find him lol. Got on this forum and said " helping people with Vog" got 3 more people here that had never done Vog. It's was challenging but we got it done. Longest Vog ever lol. I felt good to hear some of them happy about the new gear they just got.

That's awesome.... But I think I just got a cavity.

This is how everyone should play the game... any elitists that shun newbs and lower lever players will live out their twilight years alone in a retirement home sitting in a puddle of their own urine.

Awesome :) Shared a moment with a low level player on Venus a few nights back. Landed with my friends and decided to go to the city alone. There I find a 13 warlock working on the first mission for Venus. Being 32 and remembering Venus as being brutal when I was new I decided to bring my Thorn to bear on everything in our path. Cleared a lot of fallen before we parted ways at the throat of the Ishtar Academy. My words cannot do it justice but it is awesome to help out low level players :)

Need more humans like you in this world.

Bearbeitet von Safari Farnsy: 1/19/2015 5:41:58 AMDecent effort Man - where would the World be without Communities assisting one another! FYI - g8 approach if you r in the Tower & want to buddy up.. **send a message explaining what you need to achieve & perhaps yr situation** Spamming random Tower invites is just annoying & people turn off from assisting you (had 5 from one dude yesterday & blocked them)!

2 thumbs up

Also. You have got the spirit of how these games should be played. I'm a strong believer in the wrongness of players who have the elitist attitude. I've spent so long levelling up getting my good weapons. Why should noobs get them from nightfall when I don't have one yet!! Blaa blaa etc. Most of the complainers having got there gear by cheesing raids before the patches came out. So I'm with you. Any new lower level players struggling to complete anything may only ask!!

Cool story dude. I don't mind helping like that too as long as they provide info. I'm just tired of random invites with no message as to what they want help with, then followed up by 3 or 4 spam invites. For crying out loud, give me a reason to help, a little info goes a long way.

Good man!!!

Destiny "Nice Guy of the Day Award goes to...."

I usually solo the weekly stuff until the end and invite people to munch off me I even got a guy a gally by doing that I was a bit upset because I got plan c for the third time but at the same time I felt happy for the guy
-
And this is why I help players although I've sat there levelling up my hunter to level 31 and wondered where my help was but then again I didn't ask and people know I can play solo nightfalls or anything
