Nothing wrong with someone that does not wish to speak. I have a guy that I regularly raid with who has a speech impediment and does not like to use his mic for obvious reasons. He mutes everyone else and relays information through me to tell everyone in the group. The guy can outplay any other Bladedancer I have seen. The guy is a miracle worker with the Relic in VoG as well. Just because someone prefers to not speak or is incapable of doing so does not mean that person does not deserve to be picked up. Sadly though many people who play games online are immature shitbags who make fun of him and I have seen it happen so he keeps to himself. There is nothing wrong with that and he should never be excluded for choosing to do so. The "MIC OF GTFO" people need to realize that they are being ignorant when they assume anyone without a mic cannot play or that someone who does not wish to speak is doing so out of laziness. Has it ever occurred to any of you morons that these people who aren't responding are incapable of doing so? Or that maybe they can play just fine but don't have a mic? God forbid you take a chance and let someone who wishes to play with you.......play. As long as they can hear you they are entitled to play just like anyone else and idiots should realize this fact.

  • "The "MIC OF GTFO" people need to realize that they are being ignorant when they assume anyone without a mic cannot play" I felt compelled to reply to your post, since it felt particularly vitriolic for no good reason. Firstly, you assume that anyone that insists on players in their group having a mic do so because they think people without mics can't play; and this is an asinine and insulting assumption to take. I don't know how you do it, but i actually play the same regardless of whether i have a mic on or not (pesonally i rarely use my mouth to use my controller...) - if i'm in a Fireteam with my Clan Mates or i'm solo'ing some PvP/'Strikes. my skill level is unaffected by whether i have my mic turned on or not - and i would imagine it is the same for others. However, personally i don't want people in my Raids or groups who don't have a mic, unless they are adept at communicating in another way. Let's face it, the PS4 messaging system is utterly rubbish, and messages sent take up to five minutes to even be read-able, so communicating this way is not possible. If we need to ask who is picking up what and when, if people have questions, if people are giving call outs, then comms is an absolute must in my opinion. I have run Clans, Guilds and Kinships for years, and i have end-game Raided on all kinds of platforms, and whilst it *is* possible to do things when some of the group can't communicate, it makes those split-second decisions/questions much more difficult, and so the % chance of screw ups because of bad communications are much more likely. This effect is compounded by the more people that don't have comms (i.e. if 2, 3+ people don't have a way to effectively communicate, instantly, on the fly (and in combat!) then life becomes exponentially more difficult). Also, please don't discount the fact that for those of us that have built up groups of people that run together on a regular basis, we care quite protective of our Clans/groups/friends (etc.) and we want to get to know the people they are playing with. For me the 'social' element of online gaming is one of the most attractive, and i like running content with people i can have a laugh with, and those that can STFU when needed (i.e. in a Raid we tend to speak only when we need to, so we have clear comms - Except for when a drunken Clan mate tries to do the jumping bit in the VoG Raid, then we all sit back and laugh our asses off for ten minutes... lol). Without being able to actually *talk* with someone, it becomes infinitely more difficult to figure out what someone is *like* - And while there are people on my friends list who don't have mics, and i have run content (VoG etc.) with them before without hearing them say a word, it was not as enjoyable an experience as when everyone is on comms and being social. And lastly (and again, purely my opinion, and likely to get me branded an Elitist (again... lol)) - as far as i can see, there really is no excuse for playing a game that revolves around teamwork and not having comms of some kind. The idea of spending £300(+) on a gaming system, and not spending £20 for a half decent gaming headset seems insane to me - Not to mention you even get a free headset (that actually works... albeit on a basic level) for the PS4 (not sure about the Xbox?). If you want to work as a team with people, then you need to be able to communicate properly - aside from the tiny % that may have legitimate reasons for not being able to/wanting to talk, i feel the vast majority have no real excuse not to get involved and joining in the conversation! :) As a wise man once said "It's good to talk" :)

Your entire point is an example of pure short sighted ignorance with no logical thinking whatsoever. You render your own point invalid just by speaking it. All you have to do is establish that they can hear you. After that why would you need to "Message them every 2 minutes"? If they can hear you then they obviously know what is going on and can adhere to the plan. Contrary to popular experience it is possible to listen. Then to add on the fact that you use the term "Scrub" and your your basic response of "lol good comeback bruh" just further shows your lack of maturity or intellectual standpoint on the matter at hand.

Oh sorry I got it mixed around, they got to message "you" every 2 minutes. People these days, I feel like they're getting dumber all the time.. Nice invalid argument though, the way you type it you make it feel so legit Here's a valid argument, a mic is good to let people know you're actually there and playing (A lot of people go AFK in raids)

  • Why do they need to reply at all? Instructions are best followed in silence.

How about so we know they actually understood? Some stuff in the raid are pretty complex for new timers. Not to mention if they have a question or something. Have a mic on even if you don't talk much, just so everyone knows theres an easy way to communicate with you
