Players can fall off edge but bosses can't?
It doesn't make any sense that Bungie is trying to make it so Aetheon can't be knocked off the edge. If players can fall off the edge, and other NPCs can fall off the edge, why can't Aetheon. It doesn't make sense Bungie. Maybe you should improve your level design instead of changing the rules arbitrarily.
