So I have both weapons, and I have been unlocking the Vision of Confluence. When I got to upgrading it to fully automatic, I noticed that the Rate of Fire is the same(Or really close) to the SUROS Regime. This got me to wondering, so I performed a little test. My fully upgraded SUROS VS my partially upgraded Vision...off to Mars I went.
When you get to Mars on patrol, there's a little Battle going on not far where the Vex spawn in a cave and some Cabal spawn in a little base and duke it out. I decided to focus on the Vex. From a perch to the left of the base, I could cover the whole area, and shoot into the cave. Both weapons could clear ther Vex easily when out in the field. Taking them down with one shot to the middle or two shots if I was off. But I did notice thaton criticals hits, both weapons where hitting in the 400's. Surprizing since the Vision has no damage upgrade. It was when I started shooting into the cave I noticed a huge difference. Even without the benifit of a better scope and no damage upgrades, I could one shot Vex coming out of the cave at range, while the SUROS could not. Even at close range, the Vision was killing Vex and Cabal in three shots VS the 2-3 for the SUROS.
To me, the better weapon seems to be the Vision of Confluence. With the added perk of Sun damage and simular damage as the SUROS, it seems the logical choice. Plus, it will only get better and more stable as I continue to unlock upgrades and doesn't have the damage loss over distance.
The reason for the post is in case I am over looking something. I have considered the extra damage(Low ammo) and ammo capacity the SUROS has, but figured that balanced out with the Vision not having it's full upgrades...
Opinions?

EDIT: Since this has been brought back to life after almost two months, I'll let you know what I decided. I exclusively use the VoC as my go to weapon. In fact, the Suros(all three of them) now sit in my vault. I find it much more convenient to have elemental damage on a primary, and that as a legendary it frees up other slots for exotics.

Suros is in my vault, VOC was with me on the nightfall to take out shanks, and when ever there is a solar burn nf. Suros will never leave my vault, probably ever again.

19 AntwortenBearbeitet von Red: 12/3/2014 4:28:12 AMHaha you guys are stupid. Obviously Voc has a farther range and a stronger attack, it's a scout rifle. They boosted scout rifle attacks and nerfd auto rifles, and it you haven't noticed suros is an auto rifle! Whaaat!!? Scout rifle are meant to do more damage because they fire slower than auto rifles and suros doesn't do as much because it has twice the ammo and it is a auto rifle. I by far choose suros. Not taking into consideration that one is an exotic and another is a legendary but on performance. Yes Voc is better in PvE but it's a raid weapon, it's meant for Pve, but suros isn't far behind in the Pve category and it is a weapon meant for PvP mostly. Now in PvP that's a whole different story. And in that story suros dominates Voc by far. You guys have to take into consideration the class of the weapon. One is a scout and the other is an auto. Each have there own purposes and strengths. And suros has more of those strengths then Vision of Confluence by far.

1 AntwortenWhat would u use now with upgraded suros on new raid?

Bearbeitet von TGI Skuldier: 12/13/2014 2:43:10 AMVOC is my go to weapon in PvP and PvE.

Just look at all these low KDs.. Ha. Haha. Hahahahaha.

I have my VoC fully upgraded and it is a beast, especially in this week's Nightfall/Weekly. Thing WRECKS even from range. It was my first raid weapon and my first legendary primary to be fully upgraded. I LOVE it. My poor MIDA is collecting dust.

1 AntwortenThey each shine in their own environments. Honestly the VoC mostly because it got buffed (all scout rifles did) while SUROS got needed (stupid cry babies)
-
I recently got VoC (yesterday) and mopped Suros Users and got my ass handed to me, but never lost to a VoC user when I had full health or a *1v1* when useing the Suros so from exp its to close to call for me.

VoC Master Race
-
VoC is probably the best primary in the game. I have 2 Mythoclast & never use them unless it's for a bounty. I have one VoC that I'm constantly shifting between characters.
-
I always wanted a Suros soo bad.. I got the VOC and I could care less about it. VOC for sure judging by videos.
-
I only use suros for pvp. Its VoC primary on pve
-
VOC all day currently upgrading mine as we speak :)
-
Suros is way faster if u shoot manually
-
VoC Solar damage is what wins me over. That and I hate the sound of Suros.

1 AntwortenIsn't it funny how all the people that chose Suros don't comment, and all for VoC commented on why. Think about it

Bearbeitet von JDn3D: 11/24/2014 8:52:57 PMPVE no -blam!-ing question VoC is better. Though it seems like Fatebringer may be the best PVE gun overall

I've been using the VOC for a long time. My Suros is starting to grow on me. So in my opinion it's a toss up. I'll just manage to use both depending on mood or objective. However I'll always take the VOC in for the raid.
-
I'll smack any Suros with the VoC
-
My choice between SUROS and VOC is dictated by the fact that Vision doesn't take up your exotic slot I'm addicted to Truth right now. Just love that thing
-
VoC for pve, suros for pvp.
-
I prefer VoC because of the impact & solar damage.
-
I prefer vision, more impact, better accuracy, solar damage and legendary so you can equip a better exotic. I am not a fan of any primary exotics, since the special and heavy exotics have more to offer.
-
I'd say voc is better if your aim is good, you can dominate lobbies in pvp with it, and pve I think it's the best weapon out there... It just loves taking heads off
