I have 60+ hours invested into the game & I haven't intentionally farmed a single thing. My Titan is level 27, only short 2 light from 28. I'm Full Legendary & Exotic slots & working on my raid set now.
I keep seeing people farming while I'm patrolling. I keep seeing my friends farming the dark beyond or cosmodrome. And I honestly don't get it - [b]How is this enjoyable?[/b] [i]you are essentially idling at the same part for a 'better' chance at loot drops...[/i]
How hard is it to just play the game and [b]buy[/b] the gear you need instead of relying on Engrams?
Ie. Nightfall weekly gives shards, legendaries & exotics, so why not try your luck at a [u]definite[/u] drop? Daily Heroic gives 2 ascendant materials at the highest difficulty.
The point I'm trying to get across is that there are other methods to gaining light that aren't as shunned or as 'distasteful' as the engram farming method.
So please,
Stop exploiting it and try playing in a commendable way....

As of today, the loot cave & engram mission farming have officially been terminated. To all the 900+ replies of people defending their stance of [i]"I play MY way"[/i], well, now you can. You won't be rewarded for idling in front of a cave anymore. You'll actually have to move now to gain any kind of rewards.
But it's okay! I have no doubt that a third of you will stop playing now. <3
So you can all thank Bungie for clearing out all the wannabes & the abusers. Looking forward to seeing how you guys actually play [i]your[/i] way now.
Next on the list of improvements to be made: a fix to the random loot system in the coming weeks: a [u]risk v reward[/u] system would be nice. <3

1 AntwortenI'm maxed out on crucible marks and vanguard marks. I don't have the stability to play strikes. What I mean by that is I usually have to afk every 5-10 minutes due to living in a household with multiple kids, pets, visitors, and responsibilities. So I turn into "that" guy in strikes/raids. Out of common courtesy to my fellow strikers and raiders, I just don't do those activities unless I know I can dedicate the time without having to afk at all. So on that situation - the ONLY option available after bounties/marks/public events is the cave. Sorry that it angers you that I play the game the way the game works best for me.

These farm hate post need to stop. Bungie is fully aware of it and said they will not patch it. What you are saying is complete crap based on the loot system of this game. Its totally based on sheer luck. Teams have finished the vault of glass and gotten error messages and kicked without receiving loot, pvp rewards low players with rare and legendary gear when they were the worse on their team, finally getting a legendary engram can yield a rare or uncommon when after the small percentage of its drop you should be guaranteed one. Farming is apart of mmos period. Want people to stop farming? Then the material farming, glimmer, and enemy farming should be gone according to these stupid posts which means this ENTIRE game would need a complete overhaul. Neither is anything anyone chooses to do effect another player what so ever. Be upset at the horrid loot system not that fact that players found a way around it. Mind you your luck may be better than others but some are levels 27 and higher and still havent a single legendary or exotic. Explain to them after all their legitimate playing without farming how that's fair losing hours of your life and repetitively doing the same strikes and raids that they get nothing for their effort. We dont bother your game so leave the farmers be.

2 AntwortenI saw this and didn't know what they were doing.Its boring and a waste of the 90 i paid for this game.You paid to sit and shoot at a cave all day wow talk about lazy but if they want to farm this way let them.They will have the gear and not the skill/basic understanding of enemy mechanics to do high lvl strikes or raids.They will also be the ones crying about how hard the strikes and raids are. Seriously why buy an mmo then cry about not have the time to play it?Smh...new age gamers want everything handed to them with no work.Its funny because gear in this game is just thrown at you for everything. Its got to be one of the most easiest mmo to gear up in and your to lazy to gear right.Ruin your enjoyment but if your in my raid as a geared scrub you will get the boot no matter who friend you are.

3 AntwortenCould just be teething troubles. We already know that playing 'in a commendable way' doesn't get you dick if your luck is shit. The loot system is broken that way. But people will tell you that you should be able to buy gear with marks! And into the second week, this is true... sort of. Mark gear will only get you so far. You also need to upgrade it... which puts you back to luck. What this means is that people with good luck get to do fun new things like raid. People with bad luck get stuck in the kiddie pool grinding strikes or PVP for no reward, getting furstrated that they can't play with their friends. People want to have an element of control over their goals. When your goal can only be achieved by tossing the dice, there is no control, no plan, no strategy... except to roll the dice a shitload of times. So people, in desperation, are rolling the dice a shitload of times at the cave. It's a symptom of a shitty system, that's all. Fix the cause, not the symptom.

im lvl 27 and i farm for 1 reason and that is to get my cryptard rep maxed and only way to do that is staying in a small area where i can continue to kill and run away for 2 secs come back rinse and repeat :)

The game is built around farming. I get that some people might not agree with the loot cave but its part of it. Bungie probably won't be fixing this anytime soon considering they patched the strange coin glitch in about 25 minutes. I farm the cave but I also do everything else. Every week I beat the nightfall, then weekly strikes, occasionally the daily mission (depends on what mission), then I get all my crucible and vanguard marks, do every vanguard bounty everyday, then after I'm finished with all if that, I like to relax and farm the cave. Its a nice way to wind down after the time it takes to do everything else.

You don't seem to understand itemization. The NPCs don't have all the proper affixes on loot people may want.

This seems like a really pointless post. The "farmers" you mention in your argument, or whatever this is, don't seem to effect your gameplay one bit. So why don't you just let people spend their time as they want. Everyone paid the same money for the game you did (not including collectors edition and such) so why are they held to your standards?

Why haven't the Developers said anything about this? It blows I refuse to farm that hole I'm Lvl 26 and have yet to get an exotic or legendary weapon or exotic bounty SMH

I agree but you also mentioned weekly nightfall strike and I'm sorry that is incredibly difficult. Honestly I found it harder than vault of glass unless you exploit it by standing beyond spawn doorways and just sniping boss. I agree it should be earned but I would be lying if I didn't go to the loot cave and see what the fuss was all about. It wasn't my cup of tea, but if that's how people want to get gear than so be it. Keeps the afkers away from my strikes and other stuff.

I always did the level strike playlist so I could get my vanguard marks, but I hit the cap so I've been farming. I still pick up bounties. I still do the heroic missions/strikes (haven't tried nightfall because my two friends with high enough levels are never both on) everyday, [i][/i]just like most people who farm. [i][/i]

You're not mad at the farmers, you're mad at the devs, even if you don't realize it. If I can get better results farming for an hour, than I would get doing strikes for 10, then it's completely broken. PVP rewards are random, strike rewards are random, exotic bounties are random, strange coins are random, bosses don't drop rewards at all, chests give anything above green so rarely it might as well be 1/1000 times, and the encrypted engram system is so laughably broken it hurts my head to even comprehend how they -blam!-ed it up so bad (12 purple engrams turned into 3 greens, 7 blues, and only 2 legendaries, 1 of which was for a different class). I've been playing for over 50 hours, and just today got my first exotic bounty, and I still have never even found a single legendary primary or secondary. The games reward systems are fundamentally, irrefutably, and provably broken. Why bother getting mad at the players when it's the devs who royally -blam!-ed us?

2 AntwortenThe thing is..... I have played this game a lot 50 hours. And i still have not a single purple anything. I am lvl 24nd i need to get to lvl 28 if I want to play in the newest strike. So this is frustrating, im just desperate to lvl up... Im almost in crucible rank 2 so i will FINNALLY!!!! be able to buy some purple gear and lvl up after almost a week!

Because the pve content is a breeze and snooze fest and you don't get rewarded appropriately. It's efficient and allows me to do other things with my time. Bungie are mmo noobs and it shows...

If you play strike missions, that's farming. If you kill the same enemies over and over, that's farming. Seems like the potato farmer is angry with the yam farmer
