Only ONE zone per planet
Deej confirmed this in an interview. This is going to be an incredibly small game. Very disappointed.
FINAL EDIT: this post has gotten tons of exposure. People saying what deej said isn't true, some saying it is, others denying the whole thing even happened. I think it's clear that someone needs to step forward from BUNGIE and set the record straight.

That's an article referring to the live twitch interview. I know a lot of people keep asking and don't believe me that deej said one area per planet. He did though. Just search it. Media is blowing up about it.

Around the 1:00 mark he starts going on about how he can explore everything you are seeing and there are no skyboxes and it's all real geometry...guess they lied
