Discussing Microtransactions
It seems to me that players will be able to buy engrams with real life cash. Lots of games in which I see microtransactions seem to follow the gambling pattern, which makes sense from a business perspective, but this is just speculation on my part.
If Bungie decides to play their microtransaction cards on the engrams, I will actually be ok with it. Remember that store stocks are directly related to the level of the guardian, and the engrams themselves are fairly common in the world. In the alpha I decoded numerous engrams that required a higher level than I had at the time, so if you're a level 1 and you want to buy a million engrams, fire away because you're most likely to get an item that you have to level to use.

Well in their contract with activation they put the space for microtransations in there, but it appears to just be included as a place holder in case they want it down the road. I really hope this game isn't ruined by "Pay to win"

I just left a f2p game that was supported by micro transactions (Dust 514). I just downloaded another f2p game supported by micro transactions (Ace Combat: Infinity). I have played countless mobile phone games that are supported by micro transactions over the years, and I have feared the rise of f2p/micro transactions in games since they first started showing up on the gaming scene. Destiny is not f2p, it cost me 60 bucks. I will not spend a cent more on it if they even include micro transactions. If game developers are really losing so much money now a days, they need to go back to monthly subscriptions. And I don't want to hear any mess about supporting your favorite companies, obviously Bungie has received massive amounts of support to have released so many Halo games, and now Destiny. They would not be making Destiny had they not received support. If micro transactions are indeed "a thing" in Destiny, I find it offensive that Bungie would have the balls to take my 60 then tell me that actually doesn't give me everything available game wise, and stick out their hand and try to work me over for more money? No thanks. Playing with video game guns is getting more expensive than purchasing real guns now a days.

Can you please provide a link to this "evidence". Also I doubt that because in the angry joe interview with Deej, Deej specifically states about player trading wouldn't be in the game because they want you to have a story of how you got all your weapons and items instead of just getting it off of a friend. So this could be applied to purchasing engrams with real money, why would they allow you to do so when they want you to experience getting a new gun or piece of armour from an adventure, not from your wallet.
