So many people saying Havel- I find this surprising. Yes, he can kill quickly. But he's slow. And while the pursuer is easy for players to dodge, Havel can't really dodge in his heavy armor. So the Pursuer's range, speed, and blue sword attack would decimate Havel, I feel.
Also to that Havel vs. Capra video... I two hit the Capra Demon on NG+, too, with my BKH+5. I can't come close to two hitting the Pursuer. They aren't nearly comparable!
But Havel has an assload of defense and health as well.
Not really all that much. Havel has 1034. Pursuer has 3110. In NG+ Havel goes to 1500, but the Pursuer goes to 7,000. The gap increases no matter the difficulty.
He can two shot the pursuer before he gets a quarter of his health down.
Capra Demon gets 2-shotted by Havel. Capra has only 1176 health. Now, we'll assume Havel's weapon was fully upgraded as a Dragon Tooth +5. It has 435 base damage, and since it only has D scaling in strength that part is irrelevant. So let's say he did 600 a swing, which is approximately half the Capra Demon's health so that's about right. That means it would take Havel 6 direct hits to kill the Pursuer. The Pursuer. We'll assume the Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword is also fully upgraded (un-infused of course), so it deals 390 base damage. And you know what? We won't even include the damage it gets from strength or dex scaling, just as a courtesy to Havel (Pursuer's Sword has B strength and C dex scaling, so it actually does around 550 a swing here soft capped). This means that at 390 damage, it takes three hits to kill Havel. Just three hits. So if you're going straight off of number of hits Pokemon battle style, Pursuer wins with half health remaining- a massive victory. Add to that the fact that the Pursuer has curses it can use AND its massive movement speed and we have a recipe for disaster of Havel! Note that this does not take into account armor. Havel's armor is the best for physical damage, but it also means his stamina drains very quickly. The Pursuer, meanwhile keeps his speed... while also having a greatshield that does 100% physical damage reduction- the only type of damage Havel can output (unlike the pursuer who has his curses). The Pursuer wins in every way here. Alas.

Bearbeitet von Jim the Jew Lord: 6/5/2014 9:41:11 PMWhat if Havel used his shield? Pursuer, despite being fast, can be beaten with a shield like that if you time the moves right. And with an assload of damage output like the Dragons Tooth it shouldn't be hard. But also I am speaking in terms of my own experience, because Pursuer was one of the easiest bosses for me, while Havel is always hard for me until I reach a fairly high level.
What if Havel used his shield?
Havel doesn't use it, though. Havel prefers to two-hand his weapon for that huge damage output mentioned earlier. Now, I didn't count shields or armor really in this because of the reasons in the last paragraph of the last post. But if you do include them, both are 100% damage reduction. The difference here is that the Pursuer's shield is much larger yes, but mainly that the Pursuer has an unblockable impale attack. Not only does this attack do great damage, but it also curses the player and opens the door for the Pursuer to use his curses. Since Havel can't roll out of quick attacks, he's screwed there.
Pursuer, despite being fast, can be beaten with a shield like that if you time the moves right.
Here, it sounds like you're saying 'well if it were a player with Havel's stuff vs. the AI of the pursuer it Havel would win.' To which I'd say... well of course, but that's not a fair comparison at all. If you want to go stats, Pursuer wins. If you want to go just AI vs. AI, the Pursuer would likely still win given its unblockable. If you want to go 'if they were real characters' then the Pursuer would win with its curse moveset, which is out of Havel's range and Havel can neither dodge nor block it, at which point the Pursuer could just keep the distance.
And with an assload of damage output like the Dragons Tooth it shouldn't be hard.
The Pursuer's Greatsword does nearly the same damage, but with the added benefit that the Pursuer has many times more speed , range, and three times the health.
