Tropes that annoy you in Anime
I know there was a similar thread a while ago, but I'm too lazy to look for it. What are some things that you see frequently in anime that annoy you?
One of the biggest for me is the whole "MC met someone when they were kids, but he forgot about it". Examples would be Clannad, Kanon, Shuffle, Haganai, OreShura, stuff like that. It is incredibly common in anime that involves romance.
Honestly, it isn't that big of a deal when it is done well. Haganai does it decently because the MC doesn't really forget everything. Clannad does it pretty poorly because there is literally no way Tomoya would forget something that traumatic. But it is the worst in Kanon/Shuffle, where the MCs might as well have amnesia.

Espada. They have been preparing to attack for years. Aizen was well informed on all the captains strength and weakness. All the Espada die without killing a single Soul Reaper. Pathetic.

-MC acting like a total jackhat, LI standing right behind him. Irritating attempt to explain situation resulting in temporary seperation between the two during which one or both of them realize what the other means to them. They get back together within a few episodes.

Sekirei is the number one the I could think of, whenever I see anything related to that I just get mad because of those...things. Apart from that, when a pretty decent anime turns into complete shit focusing 100% on the fan service in a later season. I actually enjoyed Seikon no Qwaser's first season, but the second season was appalling. Same with Queen's Blade, I actually enjoyed the story in that to an extent yet Rebellion was complete and total shit.

1 AntwortenIf X person has a firearm he's going to be some pistol spinning gunslinger who most likely uses 2 pistols holding them in a bad way or using a big ass revolver Or it's a chick with a ridiculously huge sniper that has no recoil and has some form of auto aim. Double points if the chick is all like "i used to bullseye womp rats in my T16 back home" Or it's a giant ass MG destroys anything it hits

Overly, unbelievably heroic MC's who are the pinnacle of everything that is right and just in the world. TouMAN and Shirou for example, whose ideological and moral views (or actions in the name of those views) are simply retarded beyond all possible belief. They are understandable things to want and desire, but in their case they cross the line so far that I came to hate their characters because of it.

1 AntwortenNaruto is a huge offender of this: pausing combat to explain in detail the motivation of every character, exactly what move is going to be used next, and why the opponent can't counter that move. That's all broken up by long scenes of the characters staring at each other as the camera slowly pans left or right, and frequent growling and gasping.

This always irritated me when I watched DBZ. Whenever somebody was transforming into their more powerful next form, anybody they're fighting just stands there watching like an idiot. Seriously, nobody even [i]considered[/i] stopping Freeza when he was breaking through another power limiter?

Even my favorite manga do some of these things and it gets on my nerves.

Large breasts and continuously pointing them out. I have a hard time watching good anime when this happens. Me watching Durarara: This has a really complex and twisted plot. Character: She's boobylicious! Me: . . . this has a really complex and twisted plot?

Not too many actually, overaggressive fan service can ruin it. But I do like the Absolute Territory. Most Anime with someone possessing superhuman powers always turns into the exact same uncreative poop.

Low grav in every fight/chase/action scene. Slow mo every fight/chase/action scene. Excessive talking before and during fights. Announcement of "move name" before every "special attack". Excessive silliness. Excessive fanservice. HUGE BOOBS ON ALMOST EVERY FEMALE except the occasional ones who don't but are shy about their breast sizes and get jealous of the others. Excessive scenery shots. Long, drawn out, dramatic sentences. Males going completely stupid/faint/nosebleed every time a female shows any skin or says something suggestive or embarrassing. Predictable and usually unlikely relationships. MC overcoming stupidly slanted odds for no other reason than he/she's the MC.
