Why can't people just leave other people alone? For real... for instance, if I am pro-choice, why are you compelled to tell me how wrong I am when I'm just minding my own business? I truly believe that if everyone just did whatever they believed and left everyone else to do the same, the world would be a better place. It pisses me off when bible thumpers, or any activist for that matter, goes around and tries to force you to accept their belief as truth. If you simply put information out there, people will see it and if they like it, they will choose to believe it.

Bearbeitet von welderman adam: 4/6/2013 2:26:53 PMSome people come to thier beliefs through personal experiences, others through the education system and some from their religious upbringing and so on. I really think that some individuals are, for all intents and purposes, blinded to alternate possibilities and views, making any sort of conflicting opinion seem a personal attack on their belief system. If you are lucky enough to have somehow stayed neutral in life or at least willing to compromise about "things," you're placed in that fragile position of having to either ignore both sides, mediate for others who can't mediate for themselves or just reserve your judgements on topics for more opportune situations, where compromises can be attained. You can't get mad at people for defending their beliefs. And if you can understand that that is just how humans are, the endless debates become more of of a personal tool for strengthening your own positions while learning to identify some root level problems, or circumstances, causing those severe shifts in public opinion. Learning to listen and empathize with others is the endgame,in my opinion anyways, we should all be striving to reach.
I truly believe that if everyone just did whatever they believed and left everyone else to do the same, the world would be a better place.
It's not possible when simple belief is grounds for conflict.

1 AntwortenWell, the reason christians get mad when you say you are pro-choice, is because they believe abortion is murder. If a guy shoots another guy for no reason, you would get mad at him too.
If you simply put information out there, people will see it and if they like it, they will choose to believe it.
Isn't that what they were doing? Have you tried to look at it from their prospective?
