There's an insane cop killer on the loose near L.A. (They found him, shots fired!)

While I hope the cop killer is caught before he hurts anyone else, I don't think shooting everyone until you get the right guy is the solution. One killer loose doesn't change the circumstances in which deadly force can be used.

13 AntwortenI don't know what should scare me more, the fact that there is an armed mad man on the loose, that cops are trigger happy, or that a number of people apparently run on hard boiled cop movie logic. At least a few people seem to be justifying it with the words "corrupt" or "bad" cop. The only people that he has killed so far are assorted patrol officers and relatives. It would be like people cheering someone on for going into a wal-mart and shooting a cashier and a couple customers because they don't like the business practices. Michael Dorner [url=http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-quan-lawrence-20130211,0,2017805.story] killed two people [/url] because they were family members of a detective. It wasn't a mistake. It wasn't because they had actually done anything. Can someone please explain to me how anyone in their right mind can call Michael Dorner justified? Yet it seems as though people are using a dislike of the LAPD as a reason to "root" for Dorner. This isn't a boxing match. You don't have to approve of someone because they oppose something you dislike.

If LAPD is as corrupt and involved in cover-ups like he says, there's no way they'll let him live in order to testify against them or bring any events to light. If they find him, they [b]will [/b]shoot and kill him.

What if the entire story is false? What if he didnt kill those innocent civilians? What if it was the LAPD who did it and planted evidence so they could make him look insane? What if he wasnt fired because he filed a false report the LAPD just wanted him gone so they sold that bullshit to the media? What if hes not killing the cops families but taking out the corrupt only? I mean a man who would do something like that wont be portrayed as a good man to the media.

1 AntwortenI like how people have passively accepted and are no longer bothered by the murders carried out by corrupt law enforcement but are self righteous enough to condemn a man for the same thing. He's intelligent and was a very good person before he was pushed to the very edge of sanity. His manifesto details that he spent the last 5 years of his ruined life trying to exalt his name legally via the judicial system and the legal system continued to fail him. There is no media outlet who is acknowledging the evidence he's presented - every single news story about this whole incident has referred to him as being fired for falsely accusing another police officer of using excessive force as well as dismissing his manifesto as the "ramblings of a madman" His manifesto is a whole lot more concise and clear than a lot of writings I've read throughout my entire life. Society needs to stop putting all of their focus on the end results of ordeals like this and start acknowledging the circumstances and events that lead to them. I hope he gets to every single person he named in his manifesto, because everyone needs a reminder that they need to be responsible for their choices in life. This man has already taken responsibility for what he has done and will do, he knows he won't be alive to see the outcome of his attempt to shake the system.

I'm of two minds on this. Corruption is scary because of how ingrained in the system it is, and subsequently, how hard it is to root out. The LAPD definitely hasn't been all kosher since... well, ever. But is murder the answer? Especially when this guy has targeted two marginally related individuals? For someone so supposedly level-headed and thought-out, I consider that pretty sloppy and spiteful to kill family members of those supposedly involved in the corruption (which I can't even personally verify. What if this guy's just angry?).

As callous and awful as it sounds, it's kind of cool to have a Rambo-esque guy on the loose, going after cops guerrilla style. All I know is I'm enjoying my popcorn over here on the East Coast.

Like Ken said, the very fact that they're willing to ram into and shoot at citizens before actually checking it was him means this guy is right, the LAPD are corrupt and have something to hide.

Teh puma is borderline supporting this man right now. Honestly, he knows what the dude is doing, he knows it's NOT ok, and is terrible. However what the LAPD is doing is -blam!-ing ridiculous. They aren't even going to bother "arresting" the guy if they find him, they'll just end up firing 40 shots into his chest. They've already rammed, shot, and damn near killed multiple civilians, some of which look NOTHING like the guy. Basically, teh puma doesn't support either party right now, but the LAPD is full of shit at this point. Either their eye sights have gone damn near blind in the past few days, or they're just going trigger happy.

2 AntwortenApparently one of his victims was not even related to the case. While I do have some form of sympathy, he is a criminal and he deserves jail time. The LAPD have apparently screwed up big time here.
